I strongly believe in women's rights. I don't believe that women are in any way inferior to men. A major concern I do have however, is that the women's rights movement has taken off from its original intentions and changed for the worse.

Originally women wanted respect, the right to vote etc. But now it seems many women believe that unless they have a career then somehow they're not "good enough". As a result our birth rates are falling, and EVERY developed/first world country has a lower than replacement fertility rate. That means that more people are dying than being born. For example it's happening in Italy, and the government openly talks about Italians "dying out". Immigration doesn's solve this as immigrants end up having the same fertility rates as the native population after a generation.

We need a solution. One extreme was in the past where women barely had any rights, another extreme is women believing that anything that's been seen as traditional for women to do is now "oppression". The problem is women can be pregnant and men can't. I believe that the solution is to make it easier for women to have careers and children. A woman shouldn't have to choose between the two, and if the woman doesn't want a career, she should be rewarded by the government for her hard work. Housewives work as hard if not harder than many working men and women.

    What does everyone think?

I strongly agree with you. I think that freedom means freedom, and that means: A meaningful choice of lifestyles. If a woman wants a carrer path then she should be able to do so. Similarly, if a woman wants to be a housewife, then she should be able to do so as well. Both the feminists and the traditionalists are part-right. A woman who wants to take the career path should be able to do so; and a woman who wants to be a housewife should be able to do so as well.

This is a great discussion topic, looking forward to seeing what others have to say. I agree with a lot of what the OP has to say, but having the government pay for stay at home mom's is just an abuse of a system waiting to happen. It's already abused at the welfare level. What this does is entice people to have more kids than they can actually afford, because the government steps in.

I don't think we need a solution to lower birth rates. We need a solution to the pressures of high economic expectation on a globe with limited capacity to handle the energy requirements of sustaining the current population in the first world. I just think about the carbon footprint of all those babies you seem want those women to produce. The only hope I see, is a lower birth rate in developed countries.

And men who want to be househusbands should be able to do so.

Funny, the 21st century and still discussing what women "should " do........

Feminism has failed. Big time. It was supposed to be the "Liberation of the woman" but has now proven to be the complete opposite. As I see it the major failure was the so called "sexual revolution" of the late 1960's. It was kidnapped by Capitalist(note that "Capitalist" here means no more than 'demand+supply=$") interests and today the woman is more imprisoned than ever. Not because of a "White cis-male Patricarchy", but because of Feminism itself.

3rd Wavers are very concerned with how women are objectified in media and how media glorifies violence against women. In true Marxistoid fashion the blame is put on "Patriarchy" when the real cause is actually the "sexual revolution", which the Feminists themselves pushed for in the 1960's. The woman used to be regarded and treated with respect and virtue. It was expected from her not to dress and act like a whore and it was expected from both sexes to stick to one partner 'til death. Today promiscious is the norm. More or less.

Furthermore, Feminism only serves to create hatred between the sexes. It distances men from women and will lead to the ultimate extinction of our spiece. Women are taught men are evil and start to hate them. Men are taught they are evil and that it wrong to show affection to woman and due to fear of being labelled "misgynist" he turns to porn And because even more psychologically damaged.

    Feminism is evil.

The U.S. fertility rate just hit a historic low. Some demographers worry it's a baby crisis
Saturday 1st July, 2017 - And, of course, demographers pin the blame on millennials, saying the supposedly coddled generation is delaying or opting out of parenthood entirely
