I'm not trying to compare children to homelessness or tap water. I'm just saying that it's unlikely that adopted kids don't take their parents for granted seems unlikely. However there are multiple adoption studies. If you really think you are correct I'm sure you could mine them for that data.

    A) I didn't compare children to anything.
    B) It is intuitive and observable in society that people who have experienced "going without" are more appreciative of what they have.

Your opinion that a kid who has never been hungry appreciates a sandwich as much as a kid who is borderline starving seems flawed.

I'm sure a hungry kid appreciates a sandwich more. That's totally different from a parent child relationship.

Or, as you seem to think, it's exactly like that. I disagree, but if you feel that strongly about it, you can create a thread for it.

People who know how lucky they are - and how much worse things could be - are more appreciative of what they have.

The fact is that you can't dispute that. Grow up.

That, my friend, will never happen. Why do you think he's called "lil Mike"?

Look...I've known the guy longer than anyone here. He has to be the smuggest dude with the most smarm of anyone I've ever known. With one exception. The guy I took my board name after.

Oddly enough, I did dispute it. A few posts ago I suggested you mine the data on that. I could well be wrong, but you are not going to prove that with childish comments.

Fair enough, I suppose I should have specified "You can't dispute that on any rational grounds".

    Correct, I can and did.

If you care to illustrate some rational grounds for asserting that people who know how lucky they are - and how much worse things could be - are notmore appreciative of what they have, then please feel free to do so.

It seems that I've already asked you to provide some studies or proof of your contention and you seem to have declined. My "rational grounds" are that I'm a parent and know children, and I've known several adopted children. Maybe your experience is different, but you've made no rational basis for your beliefs.

Well, if a psychologist's fallacy is accepted as "rational basis", then it should be noted that I have several kids of my own and that I was raised with an adopted sister. :)

Those are the only grounds you've provided. You refused to provide data to support your position so your sister is perfectly acceptable.
