The world has the first flat pack truck to provide transport for the third world nations...

    http://www.bbc.com/news/business-37285399

For those who does not know Gordon Murray is best known for his work on the McLaren F1

He is quoted elsewhere saying, he believes this will change the world for thousands of people. I believe he is being extremely modest as this will change the lives of millions of people in third world countries...

To understand exactly what difference this will make, you have to consider that many people living in much of the world will never leave their village or town due entirely to the fact they have limited transport. BUT imagine having to get your own water and water, maintain a house hold and keep a family when the services are 20 to 50 miles away. For many in this world having foods which they normally will not ever see, being able to get the most basics of materials which all in Australia takes for granted such as paper and pens. Really, if this is distributed right, millions will look to Murray as one of the most prolific person the world has produced… We should all applaud this man…

Yes same substance, even though some would not want to discuss poverty and see ways to help rid it, I believe considerably more would be happy to hear it and maybe discuss other ways to eradicate poverty around the world.

So poverty is nothing to do with Australia by your measure??? Why don't you complain if you don't like it???

I must say, I was not aware Australian's needed to be told what they can and cannot talk about. I had not realised that censorship (according to Bennelong) was alive in PF, obviously here is the demonstration...

Now while one poster in another thread complained the lack of discussion points in a thread, apparently there is some support for censorship. Let us ask a question of fellow PF members, Should Australians be limited on what can and cannot be discussed simply because some posters are incapable of accepting responsibility for issues of poverty??? Simply because a poster does not wish to discuss an issue should it be sent away???

If there is a problem then complain. Simple demonstration of your inability to discuss topics is not a credible stance. But that is what happened in the previous persona so I guess when they work this out, we will meet another…

The article doesn't indicate the cost nor the load capacity of the vehicle which may be critical to its success. It really appears to be little more that a standard work cart with a different suspension and a plywood cab.

Garry, take your issue to the relevant Thread. I gave you the links.

This Sub-Forum is supposed to be about Australian Politics, not knitting circles, not Dear Dorothy and not for Australians posting here what they are too afraid to post where it ought be posted.

    Yeas?

Bennelong is a known troll amongst Oz political forums and has been banned from nearly all of them.

I suggest you ignore him because he really is an idiot.

Are you trolling? Love or hate the poster but a poster opposing your belief on a stance does not constitute trolling. Are you stalking Bennelong seeing you are a new member.....to me I'd say you are trolling.

Top Gear gives a better review.
Projected price £10000 to £15000 with a carrying weight of 1800kgs.
This truck could help the third world a great deal

It could, but it seems hardly revolutionary. It is just a bigger bed version of existing trucksters.

Big call coming from a grubby little troll as yourself...

    - - - Updated - - -

The revolution is in the fact that a few people with NO experience or relevant skill can assemble the vehicle in as little as 12 hours.

There is a great intention of getting as many made and shipped as quickly as possible (3 per container) to bring transport to people who desperately need it.

People who desperately need it aren't going to have $30K-$45K for them.

Yes that is true, However, this is something nations such as Australia can assist in with its aid programs. There are many things people who are desperate cannot afford which is why poverty is not simply a subject for the poor as some would have us believe...

Put simply, $45k being too expensive but it is cheaper than $70k. could be be produced cheaper again??? Well at least people are trying.
