Who is the WORST U.S. President of the Last 50 Years?

Obviously, the most recent previous occupant of the Oval Office is excluded.

Obviously, the current occupant of the Oval Office is included.

    Once again:

Who is the Worst U.S. President of the Last 50 Years?

Trump and the Horse he rode in on. The present Republican Party must shoulder the blame for this and deserves to go the way of the Whigs

The tally is nearer 1 million innocent dead .... for nothing. Well, he made sure Irak sells its oil for dollars but I don't think the imbalance of dollars for gold could be blamed on Irak.

While the Bush/Cheney regime caused needless death and destruction that will continue for decades into the future and were responsible for the economic collapse of 2008 there is still no denying that as inept as he was Bush jr was still way ahead of the BLOTUS when it came to actually being president.

The BLOTUS doesn't have any clue what he is doing or even what he should be doing. The BLOTUS is far too stupid to even understand when he is being given good advice. The BLOTUS is worse because there is no denying that he is responsible for a great deal of evil that has occurred because of his incompetence.

In my lifetime, I was born after Truman took over from FDR, the bottom five or worst would be Ford, Carter, Bush, Obama and Trump. But so much depends on one's political views, one's party loyalty etc. Each individual has a different meaning of the word worst. Chances are depending on which side of the aisle one is on, my best could be your worst and your worst could be my best.

Trump probably shouldn't have been included since he has yet to finish his presidency. Historians will tell you it takes at least 20 years after a president leaves office for the partisanship to die down and for them to evaluate how any presidents policies effected this nation in the long term or after he left office.

Having said all of that, my bottom five from worst to least worst, Trump, Carter, Ford, Obama, Bush. I will add that whomever was president has changed my life one way or the other. As with every other president in my lifetime when it comes to Trump, I been for some things he has done and against other. My best president, Eisenhower. Of course I grew up under IKE, that may be why I so fondly remember him along with JFK. I was too young to personally experience or remember anything of Truman outside of the history books.

Shrub was dealt the legacy daddy left him. GHWB gets my vote. A trifecta failure. Domestically, he broke his tax pledge (even if you support that, it was a huge blow to the concept of self government.) failing to control a government growing and crushing liberty. He took the 1986 Amnesty that was to show compassion to some 300K illegal aliens but was to be followed up with real border control and blew it. Heck, he betrayed us so that there now may be some 100 times that many in the USA. On shaping the courts, he gave us David Souter. For good or bad, with all of these Republican Presidents, Roe is still the law of the land. On war: he took us into Iraq. To paraphrase Pat Buchanan, there is an argument for war, and argument against war. There is no argument for going to war and losing it. That is what he did, leaving the problem to fester for shrub.

    My answer - Obama.

    The poll seems biased.

Obama, by a long shot. This poll is obviously very biased. Someone should start a new one that is far more accurate.

    Definitely.

    The People have spoken.

72.7% of people voting have picked Trump as the WORST President of the Last 50 Years.

By an 8 to 1 Margin over his nearest competitors.

    Trump is TRULY the WORST.

    The People have spoken.:salute:

You can vote for any US president since 1969...but you can't vote for Obama. Completely dishonest poll.

Keep shamelessly skewing results guys, reality is not going away.

Why is Obama obviously excluded from the poll? Because you fear he would be selected by a wide margin? Why is Trump obviously included when historians almost unanimously wait more than a decade before evaluating a President and he is less then half and possibly a quarter of his tenure?

An open minded and fair poll would allow for answers that the OP does not support. I would hope that the OP would repost this thread in a manner which wasn't so transparently biased.

And why would anyone assign any importance to this jacked poll when the only poll that matters will happen in November third of 2020.

Would you have a poll for the worst person in human history and exclude Chairman Moa, Adolph Hitler, Josef Stalin, Pol Pot, Ghengis Khan, and Heinrich Himler? Not unless you had an agenda that overrode all concerns about fairness.

Obama clearly doesn't belong in such a poll.

As for a poll about worst person, no poll would be complete without Jesus Christ as more people have been killed in his name than for any other reason in history. He supposedly could see the future - the fact that he knew his teachings would be used to kill millions proves he belongs on that list. Without him, Hitler, Himmler, Stalin, and Pot would be historical nobodies.

The usual suspects whining about obama. There is no doubt the far right trump crowd around here would automatically select the kenyan muslim marxist as the worst on principle and color, since facts don't matter to them.

The damage Trump has done to America's brand both domestically and internationally will take years to repair. But hey, unemployment is down and corporate profits are up, stock buy backs have sky rocketed and the rich have gotten a lot richer and the working stiff got a few hundred bucks tax break to compensate for skyrocketing healthcare costs.

Meanwhile Trump has how many criminal investigations into him, his family, his business, his campaign and his presidency?
He's definitely the best at being a crook it seems.

Okay, two people have said Obama does not belong on the list but no one has been able to tell anyone why. Is it because you like Obama? Is it because he really wasn't a president? Why doesn't he belong on that list and Trump does?

That is exactly why. We have another poll for the worst President in the last 100 years and Obama is the run away favorite for worst President ever.
