Please note, no Trump as he hasn't finished his term(s) yet Wilson-unrepentant racist Harding-epically corrupt Coolidge-laid the basis for the depression Hoover-struggled with coping with the Great Depression FDR-bordered on the autocratic and arguably didn't really end the Depression Truman-? Ike-Got the US involved in Vietnam JFK-Bay of Pigs and escalated Vietnam LBJ-escalated again Nixon-resigned before he was impeached Ford-? Carter-economic malaise and weak foreign policy Reagan-massively increased budget deficit, George H-economic recession at end of term Clinton-weak foreign policy and laid the basis for economic collapse, one of only 2 presidents to ever be impeached. George W-struggled with economic crisis Obama-weak in foreign policy
I voted Obummer, however, LBJ's 'Great Society' was & is a huge blight (in a myriad of ways) upon our society. Unlike the VN war this is crippling large swaths of the black population. The superficially "beneficent" act of big gov. giving out 'free Sheite' has ultimately led to subsistence living for many urban blacks. The ladder of economic advancement is largely through street level crime and 'banging'; resulting in a mega disproportionality in incarcerated %ages. The gov. has done such a disservice to the African American population, 2nd only to that of the Native Americans, imho. LBJ of the 60's opened the door to the scourge that is the 'Nanny State'. It's that whole giving a fish vs. teaching one how to fish. No longer a "safety net" but a 'bought vote' & generational dependency upon the teet of da gov.
No single president has harmed more people than LBJ. The war on poverty is now single-handedly responsible for 4 generations being born and raised into a never ending cycle of poverty. The racist leftists believing that blacks were inferior and incapable of improving their lives like other races have done have sentenced generation after generation into low wages and limited social mobility.
Clinton by a nose over Dubya. His Neo-liberal policies destroyed what was decent about the democratic party and made Trump possible. Expanded the racist war on drugs and the prison population skyrocketed. His incompetent wife set back health care 20 years. Sanctions on Iraq killed hundreds of thousands. Repealed Glass-Steagle that led to the financial collapse in 2008. Committed war crimes in Kosovo. Bush is a war criminal and committed the crime of the century.
Can you really condemn LBJ for wanting to lift disadvantaged Americans out of poverty? However it worked out? What have you got against Obama?
Crime nosedived under Clinton as a result of him locking up all the criminals whatever their race. What war crimes did Clinton commit, he saved thousands in Kosovo? How is GW (I assume?) a war criminal and what was his crime?
For pure incompetence it would have to go to Hoover but the long term effects weren't as bad as FDR or LBJ. In the end I had to go with LBJ. Vietnam plus the Great Society both were responsible for tearing this nation apart more than helping it. FDR may have laid the groundwork for modern liberalism with his policies but it was LBJ who implemented them more practically.
Your opinion is a virtual 'mirror-image' of my own. I'm an old guy who lived every dreadful minute of LBJ's presidency -- and, believe me, you are quite correct in your views. Perhaps the worst thing (among many) that LBJ did was to forever destroy the TRUST that largely existed between Americans and American government. Ever since LBJ, there's been an undercurrent of suspicion, distrust, and cynicism -- even during the presidency of the man I consider to be the greatest in the last 100 years -- Ronald Reagan.
ROTFL... not even worth it as I can tell that it'll rather imminently end up in a quagmire of frustration, lol. All the best 'Reasonable'rob
When you make a totally-dependent, welfare-sucking parasite out of a person, then you've essentially DESTROYED him.... That is exactly what the Democrat Party has been doing ever since the mid-1960's in this country.... Democrats have been working the 'welfare' leverage with anyone they can entangle with it -- White, Mexican-American, and, of course, Black!
Obama was the worst president we have ever had, even worse than FDR and LBJ. It would take me the rest of the day to write all the reasons I really think that Obama set the stage for the eventual destruction of this country. Wait and watch it continue to happen.
Perhaps that was a good thing, perhaps that the American people lived in a fools paradise with their blind faith in their government which did so many dubious things?
A free, peaceful and prosperous Iraq? ISIS arose in Syria, not Iraq, it later spilled over the border. Maybe you should blame Obama for not intervening?
Selfish attitude don't you think? And yes, they did; https://www.nytimes.com/interactive...t/us-casualties-of-iraq-chemical-weapons.html http://edition.cnn.com/2008/US/07/07/iraq.uranium/ Surely everyone knows that by now?
So just ignore the bipartisan Senate committee that says no WMDS were found? Hey Iraq we are here to help.....but first we must kill hundreds of thousands of you. Worst president ever
You forgot a few notable realities here... JFK- epitome of "Great America". Borne greatest "unity" legislation in USA history. Ford- pardoned an executive-branch crook. invited to an NFL tryout while in college. Reagan- unrepented racist and morbidly-corrupt. His DEA borne "crack" cocaine. Infamous for Reaganomics & Iran-Contra scandal. Bush41- IRAQuagmire I. Willie Horton. Clinton- great foreign policy and best Prez for Black citizens' economy/job growth plus he was never impeached. Bush43- horridly racist (Hurricane Katrina) plus oppressive toward Muslim nations. IRAQuagmire II Obama- Socialism's masterchef. hated his own Black people. clearly, the worst President in USA history.
Yey, that Harvard Law degree she achieved, is the dead giveaway. Moreover, Obama sanctions on Iraq, were meaningless and had nothing to do with Iraqs demise. Iraq is a shithole now, because when Obama pulled the troops out it was only because Iraqi GOVT refused to guarantee Obama that our soldiers would not face war crimes charges if Obama left them there to defend Democracy. Obama said "no deal", if our soldiers must be left vulnerable. So we need to thank Obama.
We have two solid candidates, both from this century and both (nominal) Republicans. Both have caused social and economic harm through their naked capitalism-oriented repeals, tax cuts and simultaneous increased deficit spending on military and other unhelpful things while earnings have stagnated and the wealth gap has only grown and grown, and they have utterly failed at social policies.
