Would YOU have answered the prayers of the victims at the Florida school?

Question: If you had super-powers (say, like God/Jesus allegedly has), would YOU have answered the prayers of the many young, promising, innocent, victims at the Parkland, Florida school shooting - shot at by an evil mad-man?

Me personally, yes, I'm not a monster, and I work against evil, so if I had super-powers, I would have answered the prayers of those innocent young people. I'm not sure what kind of ethics one has to have to NOT answer "yes" to this question, but I do assume that someone like Hitler would not answer "yes", however.

If you answer "yes" to this question, then you can feel great that you've moved to a more compassionate level than even God/Jesus has. Now that's something to feel great about!

Folks, religion appears to ROB people of their basic compassion, their basic humanity. Sad, really.

 

I'd EXPECT a veritable FLOOD of "yes" answers to this question. So many in fact that people often respond with responses such as "the answer to this question is so BLATANTLY obvious - hell, why don't you just ask people 'does 2+2 =4!?'"
But apparently a "yes" answer is not going to be as easy to come by as I thought? Would Jesus be to blame for that lack of empathy?

Well you are confusing Marvel or D.C. style superhero powers and such for omniscience and omnipotence and then asking people without the same to do something different from the one who is both omniscient and omnipotent. It's rather along the lines of demanding a dog to figure out the reasoning of a physicist regarding string theory.

 

So Captain Nice apparently, in this case, can't do the "nice" thing by saying that he'd save the innocent children.....or am I missing something?

I can't have god/jesus power since they don't exist. Therefore there is no power. Therefore there is no higher power, That doesn't mean I wouldn't have killed the s.o.b. if I was there because I carry.

Hehe. Yes, it's a hypothetical - but many many forum posters do indeed believe that someone (god/Jesus) does indeed have the powers to answer their prayers. Would YOU have answered their prayers, if YOU had god/Jesus' alleged powers, Vegas? It's really a simple question.

Yes, I think we can all agree that the all-powerful Jesus really dropped the ball on this one.

You'll have to ask him. He's kind of a psycho - he water-boarded virtually ALL animals and virtually ALL humans to death in his barbaric "flood" in the Bible.

 

No, it's really not - no sane person can come up with a legitimate/loving reason to not answer "yes" to this question, but I've found that most all Christians lack the moral courage to answer "yes" to this question. It's like if you asked Nazis to condemn Hitler....they, surprisingly, would have a hard time actually doing it.

 

So what I wrote did not actually sink in? In order to understand the reasoning of God I would have to BE God. But given mere super powers and a mere human level of understanding I would have halted the horror before it began and then I would have gone on to end all violence in the world, period. What would happen after that would be . . . unknowable.

I told you why. Because it's a stupid question. If you saw a baby drowning would you try to save it? If you have to think about that one you've got bigger problems than I thought.

 

God DOES hate kids - he (allegedly) slaughtered innocent children by the thousands in Egypt in the Bible - the first-born sons. He also "blesses" even people who smash babies' heads against rocks in Psalm 137:9 (Jesus, in 2000 years, has never condemned this, enough so that they removed it from the Bible.)
