I heard today 80% of police forces have 50 officers or less. There are no national standards for police training and the best trained forces have the fewest citizen complaints.

What you say is true. The towns you mention were fed from Detroit. This book explains what happened in stark factual terms that will be painful to academic liberals.

    https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/escape-from-detroit-paul-kersey/1112156278

Hard to believe that in the 1920s, Detroit had the tallest buildings in America and a thriving arts and culture industry. Of course, the city was more than 90 percent white. The cosmopolitan attitude cultivated in Detroit, with architects building towers that jettisoned into the sky at heights previously unseen in the entire world, earned the city the title of "The Paris of the West." Now, those largely empty buildings stand as a monument to 'what could have been' in a city that wasn't ravaged by unions, liberalism, or a natural disaster.

It was neglected by its majority population that took over the city in the wake of the 1967 riots.

"The Mogadishu of the West" offers a warning to other American cities. In Black and white, this is the story of Detroit's collapse.

A meme for the low IQ (unwashed) unless you can support it with statistically normalized data. Which you haven't done.

What Constitutional basis or authority do you claim for the Federal Government to establish State and Local police training standards?

I guess you probably are not aware that many States are passing Second Amendment Protection Laws based on the SCOTUS upheld sanctuary city laws passed by liberals. So the police in these States cannot be trained to the same standards as Federal police as they will not have any legal authority to participate in Biden gun confiscation efforts. Let me put it a different way. Federal police, State Police, and local police enforce different laws. This is how things work in the US. I don't care how things work in other countries as you seem to. We live in the USA.

Sort of like how gun control works with crime in Mexico?

If Biden gets his way millions of Americans will be turned into felons at the stoke of a pen. Gulags will be needed.

No matter if you are called racist. ALL white people have been labeled racists by the libs. Even if you don't act racist or have racist thoughts, thanks to the libs we now know we have unconscious racial bias.

I'm not sure why you bring up an over 50 year old riot, besides look at those blacks the way they can act up. Detroit lost over 70,000 jobs and the middle class left town along with its tax base. Race riots were a thing in the 60's with over 120.

Firefighters and EMS have national standards. Do you object to them having standards? They're not the only ones that can hurt somebody.

Sorta like how gun control works in Chicago with a state 30 minutes away with little gun control.
You mean law abiding gun owners will go to gulags? Paranoid conspiracy theory much?

And? Are you saying that if we trained our police for 2 - 3 years then violent criminals would stop their crime and even minor criminals when being arrested will stop resisting that arrest requiring force be used and they will all start to follow the lawful commands of the police?

Local and state law enforcement is not a federal matter, you didn't know that? Ever heard of Posse Comitatus? The fewest citizen complaints come from where there is the least amount of crime because more people are law abiding citizens and have little if any contact with the police and if they do act respectful and cooperate with whatever is the matter.

How does controlling the guns of law abiding citizens lower the crime and violence of those who are not?

Yes, better trained police would know how to deescalate a situation rather than ramp it up.
Who said anything about "federal". To repeat, firefighters, EMS, doctors and nurses have national standards. Would you feel safe without those standards? Most police departments are small and training is hit or miss. Do you feel safer without standards?
Where do criminals get their guns? Without guns crime is less violent.

How does that lower the amount or crime?

Not federal standards, they have association standards and they have state standards. Police have local training and county training and state training. I reject you contention that simply because someone works for Washington DC, the federal government they are better.

Black market, why do you think criminals will obey gun control laws? Gun control laws only control the guns of law abiding citizens.

Wouldn't not deescalating the interaction between officer and subject result in more crimes like resisting arrest and assaulting an officer?

So you think the other professions mentioned can do without national standards as well?

How are we supposed to know who is the law abiding citizens are that are purchasing guns? Do we assume everyone is law abiding until they use a gun in a crime?

Only if there is a crime first and the person resists the arrest. We already do background checks but if you are going to control guns the only ones who will be controlled are the law abiding citizens. I have a constitutional right to keep and bear a firearm for my protection.
