Wounded Soldier Writes Letter About Pain And Being Forced To Commit War Crimes In Iraq . . . Then Commits Suicide

It is really sad these soldiers find they are fighting for corporate interests rather than national security. I read more soldiers die by suicide due to guilt than die in combat. This is a sad story, but necessary to circulate and get the message out.

long term physical pain is no joke. it's been enough to wish the tons of steel that hit my leg had hit my head instead, from time to time. couple that with guilt, either from seeing yourself as the evil doer, or from just surviving, i can understand how some would want to end their lives.

more can be done, more should be done, but that doesn't change that this is nothing new, and it's still near the general population's levels.

Every 18 hours a member of the military commits suicide.
Iraq and Afghanistan veterans are committing suicide at the rate of 22 per day.

And guess what, no one cares, no one is going to suggest that money be spent on suicide prevention, because they might have to raise taxes or cut a lucrative procurement contract.

    Sorry, don't buy it.

Ever notice how most of those that talk about how they "committed war crimes" never actually seem to say what those were?

And if you look at the suicide figures, most who are in the military or who are Veterans who kill themselves never even deploy out of the country.

All we have is yet another case of somebody who was young and killed themselves, and who is blaming everybody else for their problems.

You need to find religion to alleviate some of these suicides. Areas with higher percentages of individuals without religious affiliation have correspondingly higher suicide rates. Plus over 800,000 Americans attempt suicide every year...not all of them are combat veterans, in fact combat veterans probably represent a very small percentage. A combat soldier kills himself and of course everyone jumps to the conclusion that combat, in and of itself, created the mindset that led to suicide. This is a fallacy...as the causes for suicide are varied and the vast majority of those who do commit suicide are not combat veterans or even veterans for that matter.

Again though, there is statistical evidence that religiosity...and it's corresponding social connections reduce the occurrence of suicide...

Essentially...blame the progressives for kicking God out of the public school system. They have raised a generation of Nihlists who find no purpose to life and when the going gets tough they seek the permanent solution of suicide.

    Let go...

    and Let God.
