Hahaha...try it. You might find a Justice or two to accept that argument...IF it got as far as the Court, which I seriously doubt. Original intent...and a democratic republic. The Founders considered the Presidency an office of honor, trust and profit (the President's salary). Impeachment and trial by the Senate stems from the transfer of the people's sovereignty to their representatives...it's called republican government...democracy by representation. And, of course, the "people" don't elect the President...the electoral college does. Let us know when that gets changed.

Well wouldn't he be disqualified from running if he'd been removed from office? What a SICK JOKE that would be if someone removed from office can run for office.

No...Article I, Section 3, Clause 7. If convicted acted on impeachment he's disqualified from running for any public office thereafter.

What if they are impeached and removed from office from a non-criminal offense, and therefore not convicted for anything?

Wouldn't matter. A criminal indictment may or may not follow. Impeachment is essentially a "political act," expressing g the "will of the people" via their elected representatives. Punishment is limited to removal from office and disqualification for future public office.

Possible...but doubtful. The Court would probably rule that, per the Constitution, he would have no standing...i.e. no case. The Constitution is pretty clear-cut.

You must be out of the loop - Hilly and the DNC messed with Bernie - Hilly got the debate questions prior to the debate ... just one of a number of naughty deeds.

Agree...but those were breaking party and debate rules, not crimes. The "hacking" onto the DNC servers and Podesta's e-mail account were crimes.

You mean once it results in a removal from office? Not impeachment, which is merely the first step.

Why would Pence most likely pardon Trump? Pardoning a criminal is not a good look. I've been doing a bit of reading about the Nixon pardon and it didn't make Ford look too good. Critics claimed that that Ford's pardon was granted in exchange for Nixon's resignation, elevating Ford to the presidency, which I don't understand - if Nixon didn't resign, wouldn't he have been forcibly removed from office? That would've meant that Ford would've become the President in any event. It really is a sick joke that he got pardoned while all of his co-conspirators served prison sentences!

    Who's Hillary?

And what is it you're not "sure" about Trump but you're sure about ... this Hillary person... whoever that is. Do you have a tape of a call with a foreign leader in which she demands dirt on her opponent or she will withhold military aid?

Please respond, and show us that you are to be taken seriously.

I believe some of the Russian facebook ad crowd was charged - but, so if we looked hard we could probably come up with something - in general though you are correct.

What we could most certainly find - with respect to Clinton's Campaign is influence from foreign actors. For example - much of the MSM was shilling for Hilly and her proven track record of being an Establishment wonk.

    https://alethonews.com/2018/04/23/msnbc-where-journalism-goes-to-die/

Although this is definitely meddling in our electoral process by foreign actors - (Establishment big money interests that own our Media, Defense Contractors, Banks and everything else that is not tied down) - it would be tough to tie Hillary directly to this but, in the words of Sanders "The Clinton Foundation is a Problem".

Ironically this was one of the facebook ads "a pic of Bernie with the above caption" that was claimed to be Russian Propaganda of a kind which harmed our electoral process.

None of the above is a slam dunk - with respect to criminal charges for Hillary. What is a slam dunk is her providing arms and support to Al Qaeda and other Islamist Jihadist groups of the same ilk (the ones that eventually coalesced into ISIS) - and then lying about it to congress.

She meddled in our electoral process. As pointed out by another poster .. much of this was not criminal but - it is a matter of public record. I expound on this further in Posts 585 and 592.

Why do you always play dumb when someone CLEARLY mentions Hilary Clinton? We know for a FACT that her campaign sought after dirt on her opponent. You know this.

Why aren't you sure about Trump? It does seem like things are being covered up.

I am not that familiar with the Trump case.. can't be sure until I know more. The point the post was that I am sure that Hillary has done some dirty deeds.

Derailing a thread is against forum rules! If you have something to say about a different topic, open your own thread!

This one is about Trump's crimes. If you have something to say about that topic, go for it. This one is not about right wingnut fabricated talking points.

And most definitely not about what you think I (quote-unquote) "know". Which has been wrong 100% of the time.

The White House has admitted moving details of a telephone call between Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart to a classified server.

The admission appears to back up one of the claims made by a whistleblower about efforts to conceal evidence of the controversial call, which has led to an impeachment investigation against the president.

The White House official said staff had been directed by National Security Council lawyers to move records of the call to a server usually used to store classified information. They said: “NSC lawyers directed that the classified document be handled appropriately.”

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...house-secret-server-impeachment-a9123536.html

White House officials say that the call was classified, meaning there was nothing wrong in moving it to that server.

The American people and members of Congress have been able to read the transcript of that call. Nothing was redacted. What was classified?

That 's the problem with Trump's malfeasance. White House officials are forced to lie to protect the President.

Is this the last straw for those officials? Did Trump's abject stupidity go too far this time? There are indications of that, including the whistleblower and those who helped the whistleblower.

Hillary Clinton was a Presidential Candidate .. one who meddled in the electoral process.

She also armed Al Qaeda and lied to congress about it.
