    Got the "quote" down....
    USMC-Seal_large.jpg
Now if I could get that in my avatar box, that'd be great....

Is there a way for users to change the appearance? The solid white background is kind of bugging my eyeballs. Or maybe it is the font. Not sure. Something is disturbing the force; throwing ripples in my pond; metaphor; simile; grumble; complain.....

I think it's the font. It's hard to read. I'll get used to it eventually, it's just a matter of muscle memory.

Maybe. I have astigmatism so getting used to blurs probably isn't realistic in my case. There are some things my eyes just won't play nice with.

I am hoping they allow us to change the font. I feel for you.

Going back to the Home page logs me out.

Really? That's odd. I just tried it, and that didn't happen to me. Maybe you should check on your settings?

Try just using "forums" instead. It takes you to the same page anyways.

Is that still happening for you? Because that was the very first thing that I found when we went live. The site owner fixed it within minutes of my reporting it, and I never gave it another thought.

I am moving this string of posts to the "Troubleshooting" thread, in case others are seeing the same issue. Thank you!

Thanks.... I just found the same thing, but I'm still not sure I like it. Maybe we give that one a few days and see if a consensus emerges among the members.

New posts are not arranged in chronological order - pretty sure that's a bug rather than a feature.

Also, when a post is replied to, what is quoted is evidently italicized automatically, which means italics used by the original poster for emphasis are lost.

I clicked on that option too. Maybe the ones who didn't choose that option are being logged off when they try to view "home page."

Another good feature of this is that it displays members and mods who are online. That way if you need to ask a question, you will know which mod to address it to. :)

I suspect that's it. It's a little unusual, though. Not sure I see any advantage in a site like ours.

Well, I'm sure you guys will work out the bugs and fix these little problems. It's so much faster though, which is great.

The older posts, from the old database, don't show up in search and in our post histories. Is this just a consequence of the move or does some sort of search archive file need to be built by a tool of the forum?

It'll slow down for a while tonight while we update the search, but that will be temporary. We're waiting until most normal human beings are asleep in bed where normal human beings are supposed to be.

Oops! Could have killed two posts with one stone had I waited a few more seconds. Yes, that's what we will be doing by the dark of the moon.

Based on conversation with ChrisL in another thread, apparently our color schemes may be dependent on our individual computer settings as she is a pink theme and I am a blue theme. Surely this is not based on our genders because that would be very politically incorrect ;)

Did you guys recently add those little bubbles next to each forum topic? I didn't notice those before and it seems to be easier to see the topics with those.

I am uncertain. I know the site owner was going to pounce the skin, so that may have changed. 10 minutes ago she asked me for an update on people's comments and complaints, and I told her that 60% of the complaints seemed to be about the skin and the font - and that I was part of the 60%. I had planned on telling everyone that we would definitely fix this within a couple of days, but when I told her that she screeched like a cat and launched an immediate attack on her keyboard.

I just didn't want to pester her with the small stuff when we have some behind the scenes functionality issues to address, and we agreed on a division of labor where only one of us tweaks settings at a time. While I'm playing Sean Spicer and she's making fixes, I don't change anything (with the obvious exception of my username).

So, fonts and skin should be somewhat different already, but we will still make significant improvements there as the week goes by. We just want to make it at least readable now, and then develop a sense of what changes the community would like to see. Personally, I kind of liked the bolder colors of the old site, and loved the font. If most other people feel the same way, we may migrate back toward that.

RedWolf here. Obviously. Anyway it logged me out and then kept telling me my password was incorrect. Had to create another profile to let you know it might be something you want to be on the lookout for.
