Unless you have a specific local/city government in mind, you cannot be right, as we do not have tyranny here.

It is indeed challenging. OTOH I would think that an overfondness of subtlety might be a favorite tool of tyrants itself. So I will fall back on the dictionary:

a state ruled by a tyrant or absolute ruler.
oppressive or unjustly severe government on the part of any ruler.

With most emphasis on 1, and then 4, 5 and 6. 6 is only being looked at here because it is, in fact, the precipitating action of this whole discussion. I am mainly interested in the definitions directly applicable to government

Tyranny is rarely if ever instituted all at once. It is approached by steps and the main duty of a self-governing people is to be vigilant that it is not instituted on them. This is not easy, as governments must keep order as well.

What actions on the part of Trump have fit these criteria?

What’s ironic to me is that the left has for years wanted to grant more control of their lives over to the federal govt thru educational, medical, social and economic programs. Thats one step closer to the possibility of tyrannical govt.

It’s also why our founders wisely put the 2nd Amen into place, and only placed the freedom of speech ahead of it. To protect against tyrants. And yet the left wants it abolished too.

I find it hard to believe the left is worried about tyranny when they insist on giving the federal govt more power and removing the ability of us little people from resisting it forcefully if it came to that. No ideal why so many want to abolish the EC and neuter the states ability to elected a POTUS either as that will also take down yet one more guard against tyranny.


If Trump was a tyrant you would have seen that emerge during C19, it did not. If he were a tyrant then we would no longer be taking about what to do in Seattle....

The numerous images of violent riots in which bloodthirsty mobs have beaten people and destroyed homes & businesses has done more to convince rational people that they may, indeed, need an AR-15 than any amount of gun salesmanship I can think of.

Now that our country's glut of noisy self appointed "activists" are demanding Criminal Empowerment Legislation by doing away with police agencies around the country, lawful citizens are more at the mercy of mob violence than ever before. Therefore, few things are more effective at dissuading a murderous mob than an AR-15 with a 30 round magazine.

 

And thus, the reason the left doesn't want us to have them.

 

Then why are the rioters not presently being killed en masse? Why is a supposedly tyrannical government not engaging in tyrannical use of force against those daring to object to its rule?

 

All people should have.

Housing -- one room in a dorm.
Food -- for value of about $400 per month.
Medical care.

These people are not slaves -- they still have much more money then those on Welfare.

 

I agree. They are only 60% a slave. Here in the US, people on welfare enjoy luxuries people only dream about in other parts of the world.

 

In USA, people in need of help are dying by 150,000 per year due to lack of medical and psychological help. It is a democide.

 

Unfortunately, it is the help that kills them. The vast majority if illness is caused by diet, which is mostly subsidized. All of the psychiatric drugs list "Suicidal thoughts or actions" as a side effect.

Problems caused by government can never be solved by more government. Besides, we already spend more per person on medical expenses than most families on the planet make. There is no lack of health care, there is a lack of health.

 

Wait, aren’t thirty round mags a replacement for penis enhancements ?

 

Anyone who has seen the size of the mobs of domestic terrorists now all over the nation see the need for high capacity magazines.

 

How many people are you paying that for - if you believe a word of what you posted.

 

What should they do for society in return for these freebies?

 

I've never yet understood why people figure a 30 round magazine will have any effect at all on a mob with hundreds of people, except maybe to make them LOTS madder.
