I have long ago passed the age of having teens. My son has no teen children.

I'd say that again that depends on the age of the child.

agree, if it's a 30 year old child, I would be much less concerned then a 10 year old child

also depends on child history, a 16 year old that dates a lot and is strong emotionally vs a shy and meek child for example - all children are different

What was thinking more along the lines prepubescent and Adolescent.

If your child confides something in you and they are adolescent I would say the approach would be best to tell them they don't have to be ashamed of anything that they're feeling and that you are willing to talk to them. I think giving them the third degree with questions would put them off.

True it would depend on the child and a parent knows their child better than anyone else would. I would still say in that case it's a bad idea to question an Adolescent child when they have confided something so personal to you.

We have a trans woman on my other debate site, who is more conservative than liberal. She gets to end of s*** for her stances.

Incorrect. Having sub divided or situation specific labels is honesty an truth. There are gay marriage, both in the modern and classical sense, a well as straight marriages. They are indeed both still marriages. There are legal and religious marriages. Interracial and intraracial marriages. The issues isn't that these sub divisions exist, but in the ignorance of some that any subdivision that they don't like must be wrong. Mind you, such context rarely has a significance, but they still do exist.

I don't understand this sentence ” she gets to end of s*** for her stances."

    I'm sorry.

I'd say they still apply. It's simply describing the participants in the action. Incidentally, a gay marriage and a same sex marriage might not be the same, especially on the legal level. Since love nor sex is required for a legal marriage, no people of the same sex can get married without engaging in anything homosexual. That's what Shatner and Spader's characters did in (I think) Boston Legal.

No worries, I try to figure it out, I make mistakes too. But that one I couldn't.

I think I am familiar with her. And I respect that she doesn't compromise her views.

I thought that was the point of having a Jesus?

So he would rob people of their free will? No that isn't the point.

No one said anything about robbing any one of anything. The point of making up a Jesus is to change the hearts of men.

I can't read the minds of dead men and I doubt you can either. So I don't trust your claim.

There is no other reason to construct a Jesus figure.

What do you mean what am I talking about? You brought up Jesus, not me. Jesus exists in the human mind and nowhere else. So what's the reason the mind has created and held on to a Jesus? To change the hearts of men.

I don't know what figure of Jesus you are talking about.

You brought up some other figure that emulates Jesus. Jesus cannot be a figure of himself. That's idiotic.
Existence is contrived by the human mind and nothing else. So everything exists in the human mind and nowhere else.

Well if that's what you believe than who am I to argue with you?

Jesus is only a figure of himself. Did you ever meet him outside of your mind? Have you seen him on the road? Of course not.

No, that's the extreme of nonexistence. The mind interacts with what is. Does it make a lot of things up during the interaction, yes. Things like straight, gay, good, bad, Jesus, Buddha, etc, etc.

Dumb statement everybody is a figure of themselves.
So things only exist if you see them?

something either exists or it doesn't. There is no extremes.
Not true. The mind can visualize something that isn't and make it into something that is. Do you seriously believe in the creationist world, all things that are, always have been?

Prove that reality isn't made up.
