Everyone still in SHOCK over Nelson's WAAAAAAAAY out of bounds attempts to PIN ZIMMERMAN DOWN, over whether or not he will take the stand?

It did seem like an awkward moment. I wonder what little surprises today may hold?

    Defense rests...

The defense team used its final day of testimony to paint the neighborhood watch volunteer as a wimp who was getting pummeled when he shot Trayvon Martin in self-defense, at one point commandeering a mannequin introduced by prosecutors in order to re-enact its version of the fight.

She did have to ask him but the defense wasn't finished yet. It seems she was trying to get an answer from him without him consulting his attorney....that was dirty. I believe the State has been trying their best to structure their case so George would have to take the stand to explain his side of things. They failed. LOL!

Didn't take a lot of painting to finish that picture.

This is how the jury sees George:

That was my take , too. She was out of line; once he confirmed that he was aware of his rights, that should have been it.

The defense DOES NOT have to provide a SCHEDULE of witnesses, just a list of their names....

Yep, the State's strategy was to force George to have to take the stand and it is clear Judge Nelson was trying to help them out. Dirty trick fail!

    Closing arguments begin Thursday...

    http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2013-07-10/news/os-george-zimmerman-trial-day-22-20130710_1_george-zimmerman-trayvon-martin-olivia-bertalan

Defense attorney Mark O’Mara told CNN there’s “overwhelming evidence” that Zimmerman acted in self-defense when he fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, but he worries about jurors returning “a compromise verdict.”

Some legal analysts have suggested the jury could convict him of the lesser offense of manslaughter.

Well, it looks to me like leftists actually want a riot. We have the White House facilitating protests. I just heard a PSA playing out there basically begging people not to riot.

Of course, the idea is to plant the idea of rioting in peoples' minds so that they do riot. This would make an excellent diversion and maintain the racial strife liberals so desperately need to hold on to power.

    And how they see Thugvon:

After hearing about this trial and seeing/hearing some of the witness, I'm amazed there even was a trial.

    - - - Updated - - -

Yeah, that's my concern. Based on what I have seen, I would vote not guilty and would not be swayed by other silliness. There are simply not nearly enough facts to even have a trial, let alone convict.

"NO_LIMIT>NI@@A" finally found his limit. Oops.

Or aggravated assault. The sad thing is these veridcts carry pretty stiff penalties as well but jury won't know that. That is why I have not made any "prediction" as to how they will vote.

I think Judge Nelson handed George a get out of jail free card with her ruling on the phone records. The case she used was later over turned for the very reason she used: Authentication. The phone and it's contents were "authenticated" by the State so they could use Rachel Jeantel's testimony. There is no picking and choosing as to what info on a phone is authentic or not. She didn't give the defense time to investigate the texts and photos. If there is a guilty verdict I see the 5th DCA looking at this issue PDQ.

Sadly, I have a feeling we are going to get a "compromise verdict", rather than justice. Either way, Thugvon worshipers will probably kill Zimmerman eventually. And of course, liberals will celebrate it, just like they celebrate cop killers like Chris Dornier and other pigs like him.

I'm a bit out of the loop on this. Are we talking texts and pictures involving Thugvon that show he was a creep were admitted into evidence?

About the "manslaughter" charge... I heard one legal analysts say that in Florida the charge/conviction carries a 15 years sentence. In addition to that, since Martin was under the age of eighteen, that it would double to 30 years.

Some kind of odd statute applied to cases where the victim is a minor.

That's a long time, and I wonder if perhaps that wasn't the hope/intent of the prosecution all along.

......not sure about the aggravated battery charge, or what kind of time it may carry if convicted.

Zimmerman needs to be let go. Oh and I'd say he has a nice fat settlement coming from CNN for "accidentally" (no, I don't believe it was an accident at all, just more usual leftist tactics) for releasing his Social Security number. I would also sue the Justice Department if I were him, and probably a dozen other media outlets.

Its a strange use of the word "compromise" to jail someone who is innocent ~

Indeed. Like a wise man once told me, any time you compromise with evil, evil wins.

    You're welcome, Ace.

Although both are good feeds, the top linked one does not have commercial/advertizing breaks like the second one (HLN) does. The second one is like hearing/watching the coverage from HLN on television, with a delay because of commercials.

I didn't expect Zimmerman to testify. Given what we know about him, and some of the other obviously false and contradictory statements he has made, he certainly would have been his own worst enemy (which is how he got to the court room in the first place).

Please, by all means, QUOTE the "obviously false and contradictory statements" he has made.

The prosecution sure hasn't been able to.

Why SHOULD he testify ? The state has UTTERLY FAILED to make its case.

Why on Earth would he risk testifying? The prosecution has been a complete joke. The girlfriend was a disaster, providing motive (Thugvon's vile racism) for Thugvon attacking Zimmerman. Thugvon was seen on top of Zimmerman beating him, according to a PROSECUTION witness!

Why on Earth would any defendant risk taking the stand in such a weak case???????

    - - - Updated - - -

The only case that has been made is that there should have never been a trial in the first place.
