A siege is when Israel blocks the air and the sea and draws a military defense line around the perimeter. Then, they have control of how much food they get, whether they can export goods, whether travel is allowed, what goods may be purchased, whether they get water or electricity, etc., etc. You know - a siege!
This is what the IDF faces: Palestinians have designed and manufactured unique anti-tank weapons that defeat the vaunted Israeli tank protection. The have amazing communications to allow fighters to stay hidden until the tank is close. The slaughter of civilians? It's not a way of advancing war efforts. Read anything by Scot Ritter, a high defense official in the Bush administration.
seriously, it wasn’t much of a siege at all. Hamas managed to not only stock pile weapons but make dozens of tunnels and import tons of munitions, fire rockets as far as telaviv Capture towns, leave dead bodies strewn all over the countryside. It took days just to drive Hamas militants back into Gaza. Siege ? That’s a weak description. Israel kicks itself now for not having a real one. Not only did Hamas hold towns but they were followed up by mobs of civilians in thier motorcycles, killing, raping and kidnapping….siege, are you kidding ? It was no such thing. They came over in pick up trucks, motorcycles and a bulldozer….doesn’t sound like they were under siege.
Many Palestinians live free as citizens in Israel with no intention of ever leaving. Israel citizenry is 80% born in Israel they aren’t leaving.,
Much of the munitions being used to defend Gaza are made from dud munitions fired/dropped by Israel. And, no siege is absolutely perfect. But, the siege of Gaza kept Gaza without and economy, food insecure, and lacking in all sorts of basic materials. I've never heard your "mobs of civilians on their motorcycles" story, and the Oct 7 rape story was made up by Israel.
YOU CUT OFF MY POST TO FIT YOUR NARRATIVE. That is simply disgusting. The part you cut off was the part where I pointed out they you are WRONG about Palestinians living in Israel.
You have this backwards. Other nations including some Arab nations have been willing to ignore Israel's humanitarian atrocities. But, the post Oct 7 genocide is threatening such trade as has been agreed to - both by Arab nations and other nations. Israel is economically weak, and this problem is significant.
The point is that Israel is running around smashing civilian infrastructure, denying aid and slaughtering civilians. But, the IDF is not facing the defense brigades of Gaza. Generals will tell you that tanks need to work in coordination with ground troops. Did you see support troops near those tanks in the video? They just aren't able to be exposed like that, as taught them by what happens when they try. Today, Israel reports a fraction of their losses. That is known, because Gaza takes video of some operations, and thus people know their success vs what Israel admits.
This is not what Netanyahu says. A day or two ago he said the IDF will slaughter Rafah whether or not there is any ceasefire agreement. And, he has made it clear that there will be no Palestinians in Gaza when Israel rebuilds it for their settlers. He even pointed to the US pier as being built as one effective way to ethnically cleanse Gaza. Israel is fighting to steal profit. Gaza is defending its homeland.
Well, you need to try that post again. Are you referring to Israel's combat with Iran? or Hezbollah? or others? Are you referring to the Houthis who have been blocking shipping as a contribution to Gaza's efforts? Are you referring to the political meetings of Palestinian parties in Moscow? When Israel and the USA stop their war on Gaza, negotiations can happen. Gaza has made that crystal clear. Their ceasefire proposals have been in the form of a step wise move toward a two state solution. Palestine has been trying to cause that to happen for decades, and the USA has consistently blocked that from happening - and blocked other countries from working on that peace, too.
Nobody was mentioned. Just the generic white leaders than have murdered across the globe (all of them)
Of course it is crystal clear that the tunnels of Gaza are defensive – this is the reason some of these tunnels crossed Gaza-Israel border and ended in Israel. This is the reason Hamas is keeping defensive missiles and defensive mortars which are using for defensive attacking Israel. Tunnel are also used for defending Hamas military force from civilian Gaza population who for unknown reason tries to hide there during Israel bombardment. Here is final proof that the tunnels of Gaza are defensive: There is need to see how Hamas spends its billions of dollars: Hamas spent billions on underground tunnels, missiles and other arms production, paid salaries to thousands of their military force, because population of Gaza didn’t want to spend it on hospitals, schools or water/sewage treatment. Kudos to brave people of Gaza and even braver Hamas fighters! Form the river to the sea, Hamas will make you free, especially if you are women, gay, lesbian, atheist or apostate!
ONLY because they had access to superior military technology over their conceived foes. Just being a bad person doesn’t cut it. Their crimes are local. Early technology was as simple as things like metallurgy and the use of animals. Look at the English slaughter of tribes of natives in their conquered lands. It was barbaric and only possible with firearms. The same with the crusades and the use of sea power.
Hamas problem like all non secular entities is the rule with religious fervor. Personal rights are secondary to some contrived religious goal. Geesus, you’re pretty much making my case. Palestinians who migrated to Israel in general, enjoy their freedom under democratic rule.
?? Do we have OUR DoD building bomb shelters? The defense of Gaza is focused on defending invasion. You know that, right? And, what we see now is that it was necessary. And, your comments on hospitals is NUTTY. Gaza HAD a good number of hospitals that were well equipped and staffed. Then, Israel slaughtered the doctors, nurses and patients, destroyed the equipment, and (now this is really ripe) claimed there were fighters under the hospitals!!! So, although they found no fighters, it was necessary to destroy Gaza's hospitals! What happened to you? Are you recovering?
What I Saw in Israel As the Missiles Came.\ https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/202...i-saw-in-israel-as-the-missiles-came-n3787560 'Less than three weeks ago, Iran launched its first-ever direct attack on Israel from its own territory. The mullahs fired 30 cruise missiles, 120 ballistic missiles, and 170 drones in a massive attack in an escalating series of retaliations for Iran's role in supporting Hamas and Hezbollah operations against Israel. A coalition of forces and Israel's Iron Dome defenses parried almost all of these attacks' 'the biggest attack on Israel since really the Six Day War, and since October 7. But in terms of military attack, really, that's the biggest attack since the Six Day War.' 'I've never had anything close to the conversations with the hostage families. Listening to the stories of the fathers, you know, people say there are no words. There are no words. The agony to look into their eyes every second of every day. They wonder what is happening to my child, to my father, to my brother, to my sister. They know that the stories from the hostages that were released, that people were sexually abused, tortured, starved, so they know what's ever happening is terrible.' 'What's happening on these college campuses is an exploitation. Both the Palestinians and the Israelis for something completely different, which is just the deconstruction of Western civilization and an imposition of a Marxist state. And that's really, to some extent, obscene, considering the circumstances.'' It is indeed.
