Tired of the Muslim talk when these shootings occur

The conversation has exploded over the Orlando gunman being a Muslim. We haven't talked about what comes into play in these horrific events, which is the deprivation in mental health. Instead we make it political by saying, "Oh, this guy was Islamic, we have to protect ourselves from the Muslims!" It is equally as political to point fingers at ones religion as it is pointing at the guns they use, even though there is a point to be made for banning assault-based weaponry, such as the assault rifle this gunman used.

I have a feeling this immediate reaction to point to ones religion is being fueled by the unrealistic Muslim ban Trump proposes. This immediate reaction to blame Muslims every time these shootings occur is downright pathetic, and shallow, on behalf of conservatives. The discussion needs to be geared toward maintaining mental health, and keep mental health from the point that one does not become criminally insane. This is a much more productive discussion, over fighting over the possible religious motive, or yelling from the rooftops about the violation of 2nd Amendment rights.

 

Ban Muslims or ban rifles, hmmmmm Muslims can still use pistols.

The guy shot up a nightclub killing 50 people and wounding 53 more because he saw two gays kissing. He was a Muslim and we do have to protect ourselves whether you are tired of hearing about it or not.

One in a million chance a Muslim is going to be a Islamic Radical. Doesn't mean all Muslims are though, or even the average Muslim. There are radical groups to every religion and every race in the world, and we might as well deal with it.

MSNBC may not be reporting this. They're busy saying this was a homophobe who obtained his weapon due to weak gun laws.

 

The problem is, Truth is secondary to the narrative. Some wish to promote a propaganda meme, instead of dealing with facts. That is in indicator of our decline, when the ILLUSION of reality becomes more important that reality itself.

Or, if you can take an obvious, drug crazed psycho, & ascribe to him all manner of white homophobia, racism, & religious hatred, THAT becomes a more useful meme.. much better than the problematic reality of ACTUAL islamic terrorists..

That is mostly what i see in forums like this, that are illustrated by threads like this. Truth & Justice are not the goal, nor is waiting for the facts. ANYTHING that fits into the progressive narrative of white supremacist religious homophobes being the Big Problem in America is pushed, while reality & truth takes a back seat.
