Biden on Romney: ‘They’re going to put y’all back in chains

Yes, because we all know the GOP has never said the Dems will put you on Plantations, or trying to put people in slavery. That's just absurd.

Why is it always entirely about race with most of the conservatives here? No liberal anywhere thought Romney or Biden was talking about race in any fashion, but all of the righties here instantly and proudly declared it was entirely about race. Say it all together, conservatives. "Sometimes, it's not about race". Go on, it won't kill you conservatives to occasionally not play the race card.

Here is Biden, a Democrat, telling an audience that was largely black that the Republicans would be putting them in chains, which is funny as hell because it was Democrats who owned blacks as slaves and held them in chains.

The smarter conservatives here will admit that they just mindlessly went off into a hissyfit because they were commanded to go off into a hissyfit. That's a little painful for them to admit, but it's so obviously true. The dumber ones will deny that they were played for rubes and then left twisting in the wind, so instead they'll choose to double-down on the hypocrisy and race-card playing.

It's telling that the first thing that comes to your liberal mind is slaves when the word shackles is mentioned.

The first thing that comes to my mind is prisoners.

When a person stands before a room full of black people and utters "chains", there is only one optic that comes out of that.

 

It's easily explained using that "nuance" thing that liberals love, along with something called "context".

Romney was using it in context of explaining that the FEDERAL government chains EVERYONE down with unnecessary rules and regulations, which I can't see anyone disagreeing with.

Biden tailors the words to a racially-mixed audience in a deliberate attempt to link the Republicans TO prisons and/or slavery. There is a difference, which some may be deliberately ignoring because it agrees with their preconceived notions about the world.

Maybe someone else can explain to me why that Yankee Joe was slipping into a mild southern drawl with his "Y'all" and suchlike.

 

I wouldn't go that far....I've yet to be able to convince anyone to pay me for my astute and insightful bloviating.

 

Black voters have absolutley no reason to vote for either of these clowns.
