Forget the marble pillars, this time there will be a giant 16-foot sculpture of Obama made out of 15.5 tons of sand at the Democratic National Convention. Building a giant sand sculpture of a living leader might be considered a bit tacky with its worshipful implications, but building one during a hurricane in South Carolina is in particularly bad taste.

But if nothing else, at least Obama has found one “Shovel Ready Project”. And this isn’t even the creepiest giant Obama sand sculpture ever made. The winner of that particular competition is still Sudarsan Pattnaik with this nightmare made out of sand.

I cant wait to see Americas reaction when they see this horrible monstrosity.

I mean,look at it.This thing is HIDEOUS.omg!

 

Obama is hideous so I think the sculpture captures him perfectly.

 

UPDATE:I read they may taking it down for "security reasons".
Well,if thats true,then that would make one shovel ready job he created.
Good riddance if so.That is one horrible looking sculpture.

Wow, that is hideous. You should see the newest version of it. I think the grill was in really poor taste.

The creepy Obama worship nightmare began with Farrakhan and Winfrey proudly declaring a deity in our midst.... devolved to "Mmmm mmm mmm Barack Hussein Obama" songs and poems about Dear Leader...and has culminated in this lovely 16 foot tribute to "The One" in sand.

Now if the statue were of an empty chair I could get my mind around that.

 

As the real one must deflect his shifty and insincere gaze, the statue will likely be the only "Obama" that's ever looked directly into their eyes.

 

Sorry to point out the obvious in such a scathing rebuke of Obama's handling of the geopolitical situation in this country and abroad, but it would appear the sand sculpture is not quite finished. Perhaps waiting until it is done before determining the likeness of it would be better advised.

Let's wait and see who it might be.

 

WTF? For those forced to squeemishly pretend this isn't yet another creepy tribute to a living president, the Presidential Seal behind the effigy's gourd should be a dead giveaway.

Yeah, I realize this is a cutting election year topic, but judging by how the sculpture is not complete, perhaps all of the art critics here on the forum would be better served waiting until the piece is finished prior to their long critiques being published.

 

I am not sure what race has to do with it.

The sand sculpture is creepy, and in extremely bad taste.

But then again, Obama writing no less than 3 autobiographies before the age of 50;
