Obamanomics rolls on like a steamroller crushing the life out of Americans. These former employees can simply sign up for Obama phones, EBT cards, 99 weeks of fun-employment(media term made up to make Obamanomics seem cool), section eight housing, gov't medical insurance , ect.

The socialist Cloward-Piven Strategy initially involved actively recruiting people to get on the dole to overwhelm free market capitalism's ability to support the welfare state
and usher in a "fundamental transformation" towards state control and ownership of means of production.

    It's evolved.

It's becoming more apparent that "the strategy" now surrounds saddling business owners and hopeful business owners with so many onerous regulations, mandates, and expensive "societal obligations", that they either must operate with the absolute minimum of employees to remain under mandate thresholds, fold up shop....
or make the already risky endeavor so unattractive, folks give up on the dream of business ownership altogether.

    Leaving us with......

Yeah right, like the election of Romney would have prevented this.

I can't wait till all the mindless Obama pleebs are on the streets, rioting and killing each other because their free handouts get cut. It's going to be a thing of beauty. I'm sure they'll be camped in front of the houses of evil rich people, demanding jobs that they wouldn't work anyway. It's amazing how stupid liberals are.

Can you point to ANY good economic news since Obama's reelection? Anything at all? Usually there's at least some hope and economic optimism after an election. Odd that there's nothing after this one huh?

    C'mon Grok......enough!

Are we going to see a new "blame" Obama thread for every layoff or closing for the next four years?

You have really got to find a hobby.

How is Obama to blame for digital downloads hurting Game Stop sales?

Game Stop is a complete scam I went there once with my son and walked out after seeing the absurd prices and hearing the scam they try to sell you on trade ins, good riddance.

Oh good Lord. You have all gone off the deep end. Can one of you describe any actual facts about the console gaming world right now? Any one of you so called "capitalists"? Seriously, you clearly know not one single thing about economics or reality or anything else. See, there's these two littles things called Android and iOS. They've pretty much destroyed the gaming console markets of Nintendo, Playstation and Xbox, who, for the past 10 years, have been pretending that their reign on top of the gaming world would never end. Sound familiar to capitalist corporations that make irresponsible decisions? Not to any of you of course, but smart, or mildly smart people would understand. Well, Android and iOS have taken a massive share over the gaming industry, and their sales are almost exclusively digital, minus hardware. Guess what Gamestop sells? Little bitty discs and cartridges. Guess who doesn't buy little bitty discs and cartridges anymore? Anyone. So yeah, Gamestop is struggling.

Of course, I expect all the crying, whiney babies that still cannot accept that America gave them the finger last week to blame Obama for the bad business practices and bad ideas of Gamestop. Why not, it is literally and factually his fault for every bad thing that has ever happened in the history of our world, and he will absolutely never ever ever do a single positive thing in any capacity at any time, no matter how many facts anyone puts in front of anyone. Is that about it?

We really need to just create a single thread somewhere in the deep dark recesses of PF for the crazies to circle jerk their blind, ignorant hate of our president. It's always baseless, always stupid, never meaningful, and completely and blindly ignorant in every way shape and form.

4 more years guys, enjoy it. I know I will.

Time to stop using that ole chestnut. Obama inherited this economy from Obama. This isn't his first term, the Bush excuse has long since run its course.

    Android and iOS?

Sorry, real gamers arent ditching the PC and Consoles for that simplified crap.

I agree with you on digital though. myself most of my purchases now come digital from Steam, gamestop or Amazon. Anyone that games on the phone isn't doing it instead of gaming on other platforms, but simply in addition to..to get their fixes in when they cant be on real gaming platforms.

    yup

Hostess is gone thanks to hacks

more than 400k filed for unemployment

Restaurant and retail workers are having hours cut thanks to Obamacare

that means more people will depend upon the govt largesse and Democrats will win every election going forward. The plan is working flawlessly.

Another business crushed by government regulation!

I'm sure the Conservatives can get behind me on this. We need to immediately repeal the job killing regulations against selling violent video games to minors so the Gamestop can get its numbers back up and keep these jobs open.

    Am I right?

And it's time for you guys to stop blaming Obama for everything in the economy! It's insane and post #17 clearly illustrates why. You know what, technology is constantly changing, companies will rise and fall, IT IS NOT OBAMA's fault!

    Get it?

Since you seem to know so much about Hostess, I'm just wondering what cuts to their pay and pensions were the Executives of Hostess volunteering to make "for the good of the company"?

What a gaggle of partisan idiots. Gamestop is in the same predicament as Blockbuster, physical media is going by the wayside. I purchase a fair amount of games every year (not as many as when I was in college, mind you) and usually purchase either physical copies online because it's cheaper, or just download the games directly from Xbox live.

You just said something contradictory though. Gamestop stopped support PC gaming years ago because of digital purchase. Yeah, they have that one little shelf with about 15 pc games on it, but that's about it. Nintendo has been bleeding cash in the past few years because while the Wii console was golden, the games have been and continue to be crap. Sony and Xbox have only been profitable due to their online networks, which offset the losses they have on their own console sales, bad ideas (Vita and Kinect) and other marketing blunders.

And it's not like Gamestop sells a single luxury that you can't get anywhere else. I can go to a mall and buy a console game, or I can go to Amazon, Target, Walmart, E-bay, or 100's of other places. The difference between those places and Gamestop is that they those other places have other goods and services to fall back on when games don't sell. Gamestop doesn't have that option. It's the typical trend in Modern America. Niche service retail industry replaced by one stop shop and online services that do the same thing cheaper and with better marketing plans. This isn't even .00000001% Obama's fault. It's the nature of capitalism.

    Nothing to see here.
