A Real Petition to remove Armed Protection for Politicians

Sounds like an absolutely idiotic idea.

Imagine what would have happened here if there were not armed Secret Service agents.

There exists in this country and this world people who would be willing to kill politicians. Do they deserve extra protection? Deserve has nothing to do with it. Protecting people from people being murdered for the crime of being a disliked politician seems paramount to me.

 

Was not there a idea at one time to create a roving gun-free zone around politicians? I was a long time ago but I seem to remember something to that nature.

Im in favour btw of being protected from being raped / murdered for the crime of being female. Or at least being left the right to protect myself.

There exist in this country people all too eager to attack a woman at a moments notice if they find a prospective victim. A whole stinking lot more than there are who want to kill some politician.

Im also in favour of the govt fat cats not being able to make special deals, special laws, voting their own salaries, for themselves.

THEIR kids go to schools where there are armed guards. But its insane if the rest of us want what they get with our money.

But the petition notes the obvious..the folk passing silly laws like gun free zones do not live in the world where they apply. Senator Feinstein, when she was Mayor of San Francisco, received the only approved gun carry permit issued while she was mayor. Imagine how much better our world would be if our politicians, bureaucrats and beautiful peple were fored to live EXACTLY as they force the rest of us to live. They pay the same taxes, obey the same laws and are prosecuted when they don't, live under the same insider trading rules they inflct on Wall Street, have to use the same health care, get the same retirement, etc, etc...Would SS amd medicare be in troube today if our politicians had to rely on it by law?

Are you saying the insane do not desire to target schools? Are folks kids less valuable than our politicians. If we are forced to use placeboes to protect schools, why are not placeboes enough for our politicians?

 

Yeah, let me know when you are the subject of incessant assassination attempts. Then you may have an accurate comparison.

Let's pass a law that states ALL of the Politicians have to abide by the laws they pass, that control the masses...

That would be in your face unconstitutional and would be obeyed about as well as the crazies obey gun free zones..

 

I like this idea. We should start by simply forcing politicians and their bodyguards to follow the same guns laws as private citizens. In DC, where most of them spend a lot of their time, concealed carry is not possible for most citizens, handguns can only be transported in locked containers and they can only have 10 round magazines. Every politician and secret service member should abide by the same rules while in DC.

 

It was 2 years ago. It would have been bad though.

 

I would support it if we also removed all firearms from the country.

Wait....but these politicians are the ones saying gun free zones will work. Why would they themselves not support being disarmed? If there are no guns then they have nothing to worry about. Right? Why are they and their family allowed to be protected by guns but my family isnt? Are they better than me? If there are no guns how could a crazy person possibly harm a politician?

 

LOL in Obamas own words, he refuses to use healthcare because he already has good healthcare. How hypocritical can you get? As long as they arent the ones without protection they have no problems banning guns.

 

I laid out my argument fairly clearly.

When you have thousands of people wishing you personally dead and willing to do it, I will just as strongly advocate the same level of security for you. Stripping potential assassination victims of security protection is incredibly idiotic, and the mere suggestion of it in the petition makes it sound like it was written by a petulant child.

 

What happens if there is only one person who wishes to do me harm?

I would then recommend picking up a phone and calling 911. That woudl put you in touch with law enforcement agencies willing to came to your aid. When you call a dispatcher will ask you what your emergency is and find out where you are. At that point medical, fire, or police will be dispatched out to you.

Remember, 9-1-1.

 

Why cant the POTUS call 911?

 

Perhaps we could limit the idea to simply expecting them to pay for any security beyond what the average citizen gets...You know, a 20 minute police response and gun free zones galore...
