Second, there's the fact of technology. The Indians were banging rocks together, the Europeans were forging firearms out of steel. This, actually, was simply evidence of the superior cultural achievements of the West, and it was the superior culture that overwhelmed the Indians in the end. The initial encounters actually had equivalent firepower, but the advancing scientific and engineering prowess of the Europeans made it inevitable that the aboriginal tribes would lose the military conflict.

Hunter gatherers, of course, don't have the resources available to a culture that's invented agriculture. It was inevitable as a clash of cultures that the Americas would be settled by the Europeans. It's friggin' nature.

I think you are referring to the Comanches, not the Apaches. The Apaches, according to their own oral history, never made it to present day Texas. They did make it to present day New Mexico.
