Setting women back DECADES

Sadly, we've seen this before. We all saw Hillary Clinton send an absolutely HORRIBLE message to women: even if your husband is a philanderer, sexual harasser and probable racist, you should stand by him!

What a horrible precedent she set. And now, her little protege Huma is taking Hillary's lead: this Weiner guy is obviously a compulsive liar and sex deviant with his inability to stop trolling on the internet, even after being caught and publicly humiliated.

And poor dumb Huma: There she is again, obviously uncomfortable, having to stand by Anthony Weiner as he has to yet again explain his inability to control himself, and on National Hot Dog Day no less.

So people, the message from liberals is clear: women are subservient to men. Men get to have all the affairs they want, and you women need to shut up and take it. Even worse, you have to stand in front of the public and say you stand by your philanderer, er, man.

How much lower will liberals take women? I'll tell you how much lower: just look at the religion they support, radical Islam.

 

No, ya got it wrong again. What it does show is that couples should try to work it out if they love eachother and divorce, something many conservatives are against, is not always the correct answer. I applaud them for staying together and saving their marriage, I see you are not as conservative as you claim to be, or you're just trying to find another reason to attack Liberals, which is it, I think both.

 

Translation: Yes, of course these women should keep taking the abuse and public humiliation. There's nothing wrong with being married to a serial philanderer, sex addict or rapist. All women should should just shut up about it and get back into the kitchen.

 

Their choice on how they handle their own marriage, which by the way is none of your business. I am sure that last part is how you really feel.

Tell me about some of these hypocrites you speak of. I mean specifically, of course. Who cheered Engle and Vitter, and then criticized Hillary and Huma? Oh and yes, it is obvious Huma "chose" to stand by Weiner, you could tell from the look on her face at the press conference.

Yeah, I'd say she's a prop as well. But whether one thinks she's been reduced to being a prop or a prostitute, it still sets women back by decades. Women with character would abandon a serial offender like Bill Clinton or Weiner, and encourage others to demand better behavior from their men. Apparently these two are OK with being used as props, as long as the price is right.

He is running for mayor, not a private citizen. It is in the public interest to know if your next mayor will be flashing people who visit your city. What if there is a diplomat in from out o town and Weiner flashes her a (*)(*)(*)(*) shot? Could be embarrassing for the city. NY deserves a mayor that is working on the city's business, not his own damage control.

Well, while Huma and Hillary certainly leave us scratching our heads as to how they reconcile these things, the GOP has a tendency to set back women's rights in actual policy decisions.

The harder you make abortion access, the more you set back women's personal decisions.

The more you defund Planned Parenthood, the more you harm poor women.

And then there's the fact that guys like Mark Sanford have the irony of running on family values and later get busted for cheating as well.

Sanford's wife obviously reacted differently from Huma and Hillary, but it is rather odd to see one of the most religious states support an adulterer.

 

Translation: Can we talk about something, the Dodgers, global warming, ANYTHING but Hillary and Huma? Please? If you don't stop, I'll put you on ignore!

 

I agree she should dump him but I disagree that this sends any message to women.

Ummm... NO. The more you defund Planned Parenthood, the more losers will learn they need to manage their reproductive organs on their own. I submit to you that telling people they're losers and need government's good graces for things as basic as birth control is what sets people back. Personal responsibility moves one FORWARD. And by that I mean REALLY forward, not more quickly off the cliff, or, Obama, forward.

Well, I concede even that is arguable. However, given our culture of celebrity worship, it's certainly worth considering. I suspect you are like I am in that you go on with your life and don't have people like Hillary, Huma or whomever else influencing your personal decisions with their silliness they choose to put on display. Sadly, I am pretty certain there are plenty of people not like you or I in that regard.

 

I agree for the most part, although helping the poor with contraception saves society money in the long run, particularly with regard to welfare.

No, it does send a message -- the message is that women are props used to justify oneself over bad behavior, and that women who allow themselves to be made into said props are "strong women" -- as opposed to the ones who dump their sugar-daddies rather than be used as a prop to further his interests. Where's there not a message -- her tacit approval of his sexting IS the message. Her refusal to dump him let's him have political cover that he wouldn't get if the woman had the balls to leave him.

What I wish would have happened is that I wish she would have used the occasion of this press conference to serve him with divorce papers. She makes women into victims because she won't stand up to a serial sexter that uses her as a prop. That's strength, when you stand up for yourself, when you don't allow yourself to be used and abused. But since she's a weak little girl, millions of young girls are being given the same old message -- no matter how your man treats you, stand by your man.
