The gloves are off. They are not even trying to conceal what they want. That tells me that they are desperate.

AIPAC to lobby Congress for Syria strike

American Israeli Political Activity Committee to attempt to persuade Congress to vote in favor of attack, as constituents urge Congress to vote against intervention

    Yitzhak Benhorin

    Published: 09.06.13, 21:16 / Israel News
WASHINGTON – Though US Congress is pressured by the American public to vote against a US military intervention in Syria, Israel’s most ardent supporters in AIPAC urge Congress representatives to vote in favor of an intervention.

US President Barack Obama said on Friday he will take his case for military action in Syria directly to the American people next week and acknowledged his problems in convincing Congress to back strikes against Syrian President Bashar Assad's forces.

Ynet reveals the operative plan. “Some 250 Jewish leaders and AIPAC activists, intend to storm the halls on Capitol Hill beginning next week to persuade lawmakers that Congress must adopt the resolution authorizing US strikes against Syria.”

    Which Israeli banks?

Just checked Vanguard is a Mutual's Fund management firm, so of course they would have investments in "many many companies" that's what a mutual fund is. Even if the Kerry and Obama families owned mutual funds from Vanguard it would be Vanguard controlling in which companies they invested in, that's how a mutual fund works, in fact the money invested in them is not on a per investor basis the investors money is pooled together in order to purchase securities at the discretion of the management company, it is not direct investment on the part of the investor. 10-1 odds Assad has invested with the Vanguard 500 Index Fund considering it is one of the worlds largest.

Syria is a secular country. There is absolute freedom of religion and tolerance. We have 2 million Christians, including ancient Christian communities which still speak the same language that Jesus spoke. There is no sharia law in Syria.

    Stop spreading lies about Syria.

Fun with photoshop. Is that a pigeon? Care to provide a source for these pictures Jack?

Agreed the Arab world is truly terrible, unlike the liberal democracies; such as, the United States and Israel who imprison organ traffickers, child traffickers, and terrorists, and guarantee freedom of speech through their constitution, legislation, and independent judiciaries.

Yeah I'm sure there is an abundance of tolerance. Sorry but no one believes your propaganda about Syria being free and peaceful.

So long as you're Alawite, Muslim, and Arab.

Who were heavily persecuted under the Arab nationalist policies of the Baath, Assyrian Christians are the indigenous people of Syria, the Arabs are occupiers who have perpetrated a cultural genocide, first under the Caliphates and then under the Arab Nationalists, the same as they did to the Phoenician Maronite Christians in Lebanon, the same as did and are continuing to do to the Coptic Christians in Egypt, and the same as they did to the Berber Christians in Libya.

From the Syrian Constitution of 1973:

“The religion of the President of the Republic has to be Islam. Islamic jurisprudence is a main source of legislation.”

And from the Amended 2012 Constitution of Syria:

"The religion of the President of the Republic is Islam; Islamic jurisprudence shall be a major source of legislation;...”

Interesting concept of religious "freedom" you have there.

Stop spreading lies. Syrian respect for all minorities is well known. Several members even on this forum have comfirmed that during their travel to Syria. Why do you think there are Christians living there in their communities for 2000 years. They are all Syrians 100% and love our country. They have never fled to another countries. They love secular Syria and Assad

    History of Christians in Syria

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity_in_Syria

nobody is buying your silly aipac zionist propoganda. The whole world is against aggression in Syria. People are outraged in America. 90% speak against attacking Syria. It is only the corrupt zionist warmongers and aipac who want aggression. They will suffer defeat in congress.

Russia is sending half it's navy and they will defend Syria against American-zionist aggression. If USA attacks, then Russia will respond.

Why don't you go and establish democracy in your beloved Saudi Arabia , Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain. Zionists never complain about those countries, no matter how badly they treat women or minorities. There are no freedom of religion in those 4 countries America considers allies. There are hundreds and hundreds of churches in Syria, they can openly celebrate christmas and wear their cross. I had Christian neighbors and I always visited and celebrated the Christmas with them , as a sign of respect. Nobody touched them, ever. That is until Western Al-qaeda freedom fighters came along and decided to liberate us. I promise your zionist plan to get al-qaeda in power will not work in Syria, you picked on the wrong country , this is not Libya, this is not Iraq, this is not Afghanistan, this is not Yemen. Syria will fight till the end and kill off any al-qaeda wahhabi cockroaches who threaten it.

They respect the minorities, so long as that minority is So long as you're Alawite, Muslim, and Arab.

The Assyrian Christians have lived there for 2,000 years (and their ancestors longer than that) because they are the indigenous people of of that land unlike the Arab invaders, conquerors, and occupiers the Assyrian Christians were heavily persecuted under the Arab nationalist policies of the Baath, the Arabs are occupiers who have perpetrated a cultural genocide, first under the Caliphates and then under the Arab Nationalists, the same as they did to the Phoenician Maronite Christians in Lebanon, the same as did and are continuing to do to the Coptic Christians in Egypt, and the same as they did to the Berber Christians in Libya.

The Ba'ath Party seized power in Iraq and Syria in 1963, which introduced laws that aimed at suppressing the Assyrian national identity, the Arab Nationalist policies of the Ba'athists included renewed attempts to "Arabize" the indigenous Assyrians. The giving of traditional Assyrian/Akkadian names and Aramaic/Syriac versions of Biblical names was banned, Assyrian schools, political parties, churches and literature were repressed and Assyrians were heavily pressured into identifying as Arab Christians. The Ba'athist regime refused to recognise Assyrians as an ethnic group.[74]

Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO), (Syriac: ܡܛܟܣܬܐ ܐܬܘܪܝܬܐ ܕܝܡܩܪܛܝܬܐ; Arabic: المنظمة الآثورية الديمقراطية‎) also known as "Mtakasta/Mtakasto", founded in Syria in 1957, is the largest Assyrian political organization in Syria and Europe.[1] The Syrian government has banned it from political life in Syria and restricted its activities in Syria.[2]

The ADO was established as a national, political and democratic movement having with the objectives of safeguarding the existence of the Assyrian people and the realization of its legitimate national aspirations (political, cultural, administrative) in its historic homeland.[3]

Quite an odd definition of "secular" you have there. Please tell us more.

This is an overt lie, I read the article from top to bottom, there was not a single mention of Vanguard, Israeli Banks, or Kerry/Obama investment therein.

It's one of the largest mutual fund management services in the world, please provide your evidence that they have and I quote "controlling shares" IE at least 51%, prove it.

Yes I'm still waiting for your evidence regarding your claims of stock in this company.

More lies. You should get an award for spreading lies. You even doubt that there is no sharia law and no religious law of any kind in Syria. I know because I lived there. Syrians are not discriminated based on religion.

Alawites in Syria are not even religious, they drink alcohol and their women are free to go on a beach in bathing suits. You been to Tartus and Latakia? You dont even know what those cities are.

Maybe you should join your al-qaeda buddies in Syria that are attacking a Christian village. Don't forget to pick up your monthly paycheck from the masters in Riyadh.

Were you there? I was and saw opposition firing on police men and govt officials.

I was in Darayya which is a city probably most hard hit by war. Do not educate when you have no clue. I was there. I saw it. My family was kicked out for not sympathizing with rebels and our property was destroyed. You have no idea what you are talking about, because you were not there. I WAS ! New Jersey is not Syria, listening to CNN does not make you a Syria expert.

Complete abject nonsense, and an overt lie:

(Cairo) - Syria should cease use of live fire and other excessive force against protesters, as it did on March 18 and 20, 2011, in the southern town of Daraa, leaving at least five people dead, Human Rights Watch said today.

Sunday, March 20 marked the third day of protests in Daraa, where government forces yet again fired on protesters and used teargas to break up a public gathering, killing one person and injuring dozens of others, according to media reports. Today's fatality brings the total number of protesters killed in Daraa to at least five.

"The Syrian government has shown no qualms about shooting dead its own citizens for speaking out," said Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East and North Africa director at Human Rights Watch. "Syrians have shown incredible courage in daring to protest publicly against one of the most repressive governments in the region, and they shouldn't have to pay with their lives."

Security forces used teargas and fired on protesters who gathered in the town. An eyewitness speaking on a BBC Arabic television broadcast claimed they used teargas in far greater quantities on Sunday than during Friday's protests. Today's protests also reportedly turned violent with the BBC reporting that some protesters in Daraa set fire to several buildings including the headquarters of the ruling Baath Party.

This is not the first time that Syrian forces have used lethal force to break up a demonstration. On March 21, 2010, security forces fired at a group of Kurds celebrating Nowruz (Kurdish New Year) in Northern Syria, killing one person and wounding others. Two years previously, in March 2008, Syrian internal security forces had also opened fire on Kurds celebrating Nowruz in the town of Qamishli in northeastern Syria, killing three and wounding five others.

Of course they fired at police. Assad started all of this by opening fire on protestors during a pro-democracy rally.
