Harry Reid Threatens to Shut Down the Gov't Unless the House "accepts"

I believe we need to rapidly move to the Article V fight in the state legislatures. The states must demand a convention for proposing amendments to the Constitution. We need term limits for everybody including the Justices on the erratic and dangerous supreme court. We need to reign in spending and taxing through amendments and we need to return Senators to the control by their states.

 

Ah, Mark Levines book "The Liberty Amendments". And repeal of the sevententh amendment. I have not read it yet. But it will take a herculian effort to organize such movements in all states. It will also take political will and clout. It could take a while.

That (bolded) is true, and the House decided that spending on ObamaCare is mandatory, oh, not the current House, but they don't get to decide, it's all spelled out in the constitution.
That's why the government is spending money on ObamaCare today.
If you want to defund ObamaCare, you need the Senate and the President to agree, and that's not going to happen.
So given that the Senate passed CR that funds the government for six weeks until a budget can be worked out is on Boehner's desk, and given that the votes to pass it are there in the House, the only thing keeping the government shut down, is John Boehner, if he sends the bill to the floor it passes.
All those defense contractors, especially that big GE jet engine plant in Ohio, aren't getting their payments, these are GOP allies that are hurting, and for nothing but to keep the Teaparty happy, so John Boehner can continue as Speaker.

And here's part that the GOP forgot, if Obama and Reid back down now, the GOP will cut them a new one when the debt ceiling comes up a little later.
But if they hold the line now, then Boehner can't expect anything different when the debt ceiling comes up, and he has to toe the line.
And Obama is never running for office again, Boehner is, and so is nearly every House Republican.

 

No you didn't. The answer to "What would Jesus do?" can't possibly be "Obama is not Jesus". It is illogical.

If you are unwilling to answer the question, you should not reply. Replying that "Obama is not Jesus" shows that you are afraid to answer the question.

On the other hand, now is the perfect time. Let's get to it. The Framers gave us the method. Levin gave us the tip and now it is up to us to educate, cajole and coerce the state legislatures to demand a convention to propose amendments to the Constitution.

 

All that has to happen is the House votes on a clean budget.

The ones who destroys the Constitution, the ones who impose their will upon us, the ones who will enslave us by giving extraordinary coercive power to the national government are the ones who first deserve our contempt and then deserve to be thrown out of office and into jail. I believe that this is a reason to go to war. If we fail to defeat the monsters who created this and who are moving to unravel what is left of America we will not have any freedoms left in just a few years. When did we lose our right to live free? When did the government get the right to know every detail of every one of our lives? It is time that we move forward with our Article V fight.

Allowing this to go forward has already hurt hundreds of thousands of people. And it will hurt every one of us in ways that are not comprehensible to most.

 

That has already happened. It was cleaned of money to advance the final unconstitutional act of this regime and the Left. It is as clean as we can hope. I would have preferred defunding the EPA and the Education department plus an additional 450 or so other independent agencies. Perhaps another day.

The House needs to send individual appropriations bills to the Senate at the rate of one per day. No compromises. Do a good job the way it is supposed to be done. And let the Left deal with their shutdown.

I am surprised that Boehner hasn't found a reason to cave yet. I hope he continues to stand.
