The story is still the headline on Google news. And what's with the right's obsession with race? Black, white, or green it doesn't matter. This story is about a mentally ill women trying to run through a White House barricade and than driving a mile to Capitol Hill. The racism displayed by those on the right on this board is mind boggling at times.

The Left are the ones who examined an obviously brown skin-toned Hispanic male with a strong native Peruvian bloodline and declared the fellow to be a White Hispanic for the express purpose of turning a Brown-Hispanic shooting of a Black teenager into a White versus Black issue . . . thereby sending this nation into convulsions with their blatant and deliberate race-baiting.

Oh and then we have the habit by the Left ever since Barack Obama appeared on the scene of accusing anyone in disagreement with the man or his policies as being racist. The Left has a lot of 'splaining to do.

Ramming a barricade at the White House is not punishable by death. They shot an unarmed woman trying to flee. They knew she was trying to flee, and not trying to kill anyone with her car. If she wanted to run over cops in the street, DC has more of them on every corner and street than you can imagine.

At first, I was saddened by the story because it's yet another person killed by cops using the person's vehicle as an excuse. They've done this so many times. When I was fresh out of the service I took a job as a public safety officer (security guard on public streets, more or less). One time, my partner and I stopped in front of a truck and watched a guy hit a joint. His eyes bugged out and he threw it into gear and hit the gas, with us standing in front of the truck. I didn't think to draw my weapon. I thought to jump out of the way. And even then after out of harm's way, I didn't think to start shooting at a moving vehicle with a presumably unarmed man inside. But then I wasn't at a barricade outside the White House. Some of you think that makes a difference here. It does not.

 

Now I'm past saddened and feel disgusted. The partisanship over an issue like this is astounding. But again, I think it has something to do with this happening outside the WH. Would you people be praising the killing of an unarmed black mother outside of Bush's WH?

 

Why do you pretend that cynically using race as a political tool is not the established modus operandi of the Democratic Party?

 

From the comments Ive heard from Law Enforcement officers past and present....this fiasco was not handled in the normal fashion.

Street incidents and field tests have shown that police handguns, rifles or shotguns can't quickly or reliably stop a vehicle.

I don't think there's any kind of conspiracy at work, although the incident does measure public response to the certain aspect of it.

She was not armed, but it's clear she wasn't simply disoriented. She appeared to have intentionally ran through one barricade and was attempting to go through another. If she really was crazy, it's plausible. None of it excuses the killing, in my view, from what I've learned about it. It should've been another car chase.

Two very minor injuries sustained by the cops. One was self-inflicted. The other was the Secret Service officer she allegedly hit. That was the point of no return for her. Once her vehicle grazed the officer, she may as well have pointed a gun, in their minds. They know they can now legally shoot her, whether it's right or wrong, regardless of having a baby in the car, and without consideration of hundreds of innocent bystanders. I can't believe neither the baby nor bystanders were shot. That's just luck. Oh, and shooting someone at point blank range.

 

Everybody BUT the Tea Party is shooting up DC.

 

She was endangering lives, police officers, other motorists, HER CHILD.
If she had some break down in reality or other mental issue or bad reaction to a med. That is unfortunate. But dont second guess a person who is forced to take a life until you are in that persons shoes.

 

What was more endangering to innocent lives, her vehicle or the bullets? It was a car chase. Are the cops now justified to shoot at every speeding car they think is endangering lives? Don't be ridiculous. And, yes, we ALWAYS second guess our police officers when they kill someone. That is necessary for them and us.
