    "You guys...."? hmmmmm
And you believe the scientists whose jobs depend on promoting alarmist AGW. See my point DV, we need to find research done by someone without a demonstrable bias one why or the other.

Okay, so someone working for the BOM whose job is independent of outcomes - and who would have great governmental incentive NOT to support climate change under a Liberal government - someone like that??

Because if you say yes, you just shot yourself in the foot

And unfortunately as the title of the thread suggests not all the planet is warming at the same rate

Isn't that interesting??? Could you explain why set dates makes the difference of what is right and what is wrong??? For example, could you explain why only 450,000 years are used in attempt to demonstrate the AGW theory rather than the entire 5million years??? As over the 5million period the trend is considerably DOWN.

AND could you explain why the AGW theory continues to complain that they are discussing the entire global trend but when it suites they point to regional trends??? Why is it that the (SIC) bushfire season was early??? As I was unaware Australia had a season of bushfires. Perhaps they could explain how not clearing the bushfire fuel, in accordance with the Greens policies did not make the bushfires far worse than they could have been???

Maybe you could just explain why the people who proclaim they are thinking of the future for their children show total lack of empathy for people who are suffering under a crisis, attempt to score political points over those crises??? Because this clearly shows that they only care for their agenda and not the future of the planet.

the Earth has warmed around 1.4 degrees.

Most of this warming has taken place during the last 30 years.

What did your last slave die of??

Don't you lot EVER do any of your own homework because the answers are out there

Really? And this is where we ask for YOUR homework to be submitted - where is your evidence of this "conspiracy" to "hide" the decline?

Something like this would be nice

Yes - Don't confuse bad journalism with good science
Yes Master!! And while I am doing that do you want me to build a bridge to the Moon made of gold??

Again do not confuse bad journalism with good science - or even with anything

If you are going to ask rhetorical questions - ask why so many are concerned about abortion but do not give a fig about starving children

    Glad someone has noticed

I think you will find there is a culture of support for AGW pervading the BOM.

We should be clear that I am talking about AGW causing the earths climate to change, not climate change per sa. Why would someone have incentive not to support AGW under a Liberal government? Is this sentiment based on your opinion that the libera/national government is made up of AGW deniers?

Interesting graphs. Notice how there has been a long history of precipitice rises in temperature followed by long slow falls. Dust concentrations certainly appear to be at least one of the driving forces, co2 is less certain because rising temperatures cause a rise in co2. Corrolation does not necessarily mean causation. The pertinent observation is that fast rises in temperature are part of a very long running, repetitive natural cycle. What we are experiencing now appears to be part of that natural cycle. Human activities may exacerbate this latest warming cycle but by how much? or if at all? Is there a graph out there that overlays sun activity with global temperature?
We should also be aware that the measurement of 'global temperature' is in itself a controversial subject.

Perhaps if you have been following BB for a while you would see that the current ten year trend is supposedly nothing. Fact is if you look over ten years the trend is level. 30 years the trend is up over 5million years the trend is definitely DOWN . All without the correlation of CO2.

When it comes to the science it is the same, if you look to only one part of the equation then your science will be flawed.

So your reading of a 5 million year trend suggests we are re-entering a glacial age?

No, but that is irrelevant. The questions I would ask over the longer term trend is A) is the planet actually moving out of an Ice age to a return to the 5m year heights? B) Is the planet actually heading to a level of cooling that will place the planet in an uninhabitable for the current life forms? C) Why is it that people think this level of atmosphere or climate is the normal level?

The fact remains 450,000 Years is simply a blip in the climate trends of this planet. To suppose you can understand the truth of this by simply dissecting the information provided is simply ludicrous. It is like getting a piece of orange skin and saying that is how the entire orange will taste.

Lately mate, you are the one who has been saying nothing, just making stupid, flippant retorts. It is so unlike your past contirbutions that I wonder if indeed it is not a different person lately.

I have suspected for some time these duel personalities is the result of someone caught in the grip-of-the-grape.

Nice & pleasant one moment, and angry and vile the next. Definitely has a split personality!!

No sorry mate, same person, just reply in the same vane as the post I'm replying to. i.e. if it is garbage,I reply garbage, especially to those I have seen here for a while.

If anyone ever put up a good debate I will happily debate them, but alas, that hardley ever happens

Now, now... He is just a little upset that nobody is taking him seriously. Lately he has being tossing his crap about in the hope of a response. A little like a child who thinks they are being ignored.

In such a short space of time climate has changed more dramatically than ever before. It seems more than likely that it is caused by AGW. Pull out the millions of year trends all you like.
