his presidency started with fake roman columns and a Nobel peace prize for what he was going to do. Remember his acceptance speech he portrayed himself as the new messiah the way I see it, talk about an ego
I do. I don't show my humor here because this is a forum where I exercise my intellectual capacity. See, I'm playing from a full deck, while so many here seem to be playing a few cards short....and by a few, I mean about 40-50 cards short of a full deck.
/offtopic alert might want to see if the is a chess club in your area, arguing with the libs here is about as challenging as a argument with grade school debate team for me
It's funny (and tragic) that people thought Obama was somehow going to be competent and accomplish great things, all on the basis of how eloquently he seemed to speak. He had no credentials, no good track record. He just had that (D) on his ticket and a lot of charismatic speaking, and of course his dark skin as well, and that was apparently all the Democrats ever needed. People disappoint me.
A lot of changes to be made in the next three years? Yeah, the biggest being the dissolution of our Republic and the installation of his dictatorship.
I'm sure this wasn't aimed, in any part at me (since I'm one of the ones arguing with him). I would seriously have to burst out into hysterical laughter if anyone here ever accused me of being a liberal..... - - - Updated - - - Nah, he's so good, he can take his perfect eyes and alter them to work with the glasses, so he can look hip.
Probably save 26,000 people who are going to starve to death to, but he doesn't now does he? Glasses are hip.
I just want to thank everyone responsible for making this thread a Mega Off Topic-O-Rama that will certainly be closed any minute.
Almost exactly this. Eloquence and being able to smooth-talk anyone can only get you so far in Washington. He was way too young to be President. Had he waited four or five cycles, he would have probably been a much better President all around. Not to mention, some of these racist bastards would have died off and so race wouldn't have been much of an issue. Idealism isn't itself a prerequisite that qualifies someone for national office in a two-party system. Experience is needed. Experience Obama didn't have. I'm an idealist, and I know I would never run for office in our current system. I still think he was elected because of the Oprah Book Club Vote. A lot of conservatives seem to forget that she had him on her talk show way back in 2004 when he was in the Illinois State Senate. In 2004, an endorsement from Oprah was enough to catapult anyone into the national limelight. Sure, he had some momentum because of the DNC speech, but his popularity took off almost immediately after Oprah gave him a national audience. She gushed over the guy and that caused her audience to practically wet themselves when he was going through his idealist talking points. We would see the same thing if Paul Ryan ran for President in the next two or three Presidential cycles, I believe. The system can be changed, but it's not going to be changed from within. That was Obama's ultimate failure. It's arguing with anyone, Liberal or Conservative, who substitutes their idea of logic for real logic or ignores reality for their own distortions. I mean, look at Taxcutter's "compromise" threads. I've got some opinions about those particular threads that aren't fit to print.
I guess maybe Leon Russell bought it also. I mean who needs Dr. Hook & his Medicine Show when one has a true blue 100% verifiable " Messiah " on hand.
Not only did Obama lack the entire portfolio of leadership and management skills, he surrounded himself with people like himself, all long on communication, short on business and real world commercial experience. The result is evident. Words were though to be a substitute for acts. A speech somehow didn't make the ObombaCare web site come to life of make Putin back off or .... Fail. Everywhere. Every way.
That's complete bull(*)(*)(*)(*). The right-wing has so many "Messiahs" that it's difficult to keep count.
None of which can hold a candle to the ONE who was supposed to keep the oceans from rising and healing the nation. Truly is a fraudulent Messiah Obama is...
Didn't we learn as kids that 'Talk is Cheap'? Slick talking snake oil salesman was able to convince enough folks to buy his line of BS, not once but twice. After this fiasco of an administration leaves I hope that the populace has learned their collective lesson and actually looks at the candidates actual accomplishments, BOTH good and bad....
Wow, she actually said it. A while back I was cataloging PF posts that described Obama in messianic terms, but to have Barbara Walters actually say she was hoping for the messiah... that's the closing argument of all closing arguments. Never again can progressives say they don't view Obama like Christians view Jesus. Like I have said countless times, Obama is the closest thing to a religious experience that they are ever going to have.
The mass hysteria was saw in 2007/2008 is going to be a widely researched topic of study within the next several decades. They wanted a black President so badly that it didn't even matter who he was, just as long as he was a Democrat. They also knew that they could call any criticism of the President and his policies "racism", so it helped them push through their agenda.
Get your terminology straight and who you plan to define; us Constitutional and fiscal conservatives ARE the classical liberals.
Wait... Johnnymo deleted BVWC's post when it was just a link... why is he not deleting this one ??? Huh ?? How strange.....
It goes to show when you abandon God you will end up replacing him with a man and worship that man instead
