That is exactly the point Abdel Bari Atwan made with the BBC following Sharon's death when they were trying to create it as the bad one who made good via Gaza. he pointed out that the Israeli's could no longer afford GAZA. That is why they left. Nothing to do with peace despite how pissed off some extremist settlers were about having to move to the West Bank.
