Thank goodness we are both amused at the thought of a revolution. We might end up with a situation like Egypt or Libya.

Odd that they weren't shocked by Bush's involvement the original article alleges.
I wouldn't be surprised to learn of Saudi Royal family involvement. Likely not much more than contribution of money. Probably more like protection money in hopes Al Qaeda wouldnt attack them as opposed to money given to support an attack on the US.

Abu Zubaydah wasn't being cooperative in interrogations after being captured so they had Arabs, pretending to be Saudi intelligence which was known to not hesitate to use beatings and torture to get information, interrogate him. He was glad to see them, asked them to call one of three named Saudi Princes, believing they would demand his release. Shortly thereafter all three Princes were dead within a week of each other in July 2002. First one was alleged to have died of a heart attack during abdominal surgery, the second in an auto accident on the way to the firsts funeral and the third supposedly died 5 days later of thirst in the desert. I wouldnt be surprised if we found evidence of Saudi family involvement we showed to the King, and he had all three of them killed.

You haven't answered my question. You're just repeating your claim that Saudi Arabia wasn't involved in the plot.

So specifically, what investigation did you do, or did someone else do, that convinced you of this? Even the 9/11 report had to dismiss researching the financing of the attack as not relevant to their "comprehensive" report.

And who looked into all the other countries?

I need proof to ask a question?

What exactly do I need to prove? My curiosity?

So just because the hijackers trained in a particular country, that country's government must be destroyed?

The Taliban were running Afghanistan, remember? The Taliban government supported Al Qaeda training camps in their country. So we took out all of the Al Qaeda training camps and removed the Taliban.

Proof that Saudi Arabia was involved in 9/11. Al Qaeda originated in Saudi Arabia only because that is home to the Wahhabi religion. I do believe 9/11 was state sponsored, but not by the Saudi's. The ex-Taliban government of Afghanistan sponsored 9/11. Which is why we attacked the Taliban government and effectively removed them from the Capital.

The training camps in Afghanistan were kindergartens compared with the world's leading university of terrorism in Fort Benning, Georgia.

Known previously as the School of the America's, it trained some 60,000 Latin American soldiers, policemen, paramilitaries and intelligence agents. Forty percent of the Cabinet ministers who served in the genocidal regimes of Lucas Garcia, Rios Montt and Mejia Victores in Guatemala are graduates.

In 1993, the United Nations Truth Commission on El Salvador named the army officers who had committed the worst atrocities of the civil war. Two-thirds of them had been trained at the School of the Americas. Among them were Roberto D’Aubuisson, the leader of El Salvador’s death squads; the men who killed Archbishop Oscar Romero; and 19 of the 26 soldiers who murdered the Jesuit priests in 1989. In Chile, the school’s graduates ran both Augusto Pinochet’s secret police and his three principal concentration camps. One of them helped to murder Orlando Letelier and Ronni Moffit in Washington DC in 1976.

Argentina’s dictators Roberto Viola and Leopoldo Galtieri, Panama’s Manuel Noriega and Omar Torrijos, Peru’s Juan Velasco Alvarado and Ecuador’s Guillermo Rodriguez all benefitted from the school’s instruction. So did the leader of the Grupo Colina death squad in Fujimori’s Peru; four of the five officers who ran the infamous Battalion 3-16 in Honduras (which controlled the death squads there in the 1980s) and the commander responsible for the 1994 Ocosingo massacre in Mexico.

Given that the evidence linking the school to continuing atrocities in Latin America is rather stronger than the evidence linking the Al-Qaeda training camps to the attack on New York, what should we do about the “evil-doers” in Fort Benning, Georgia?

Well, we could urge our governments to apply full diplomatic pressure, and to seek the extradition of the school’s commanders for trial on charges of complicity in crimes against humanity. Alternatively, we could demand that our governments attack the United States, bombing its military installations, cities and airports in the hope of overthrowing its unelected government and replacing it with a new administration overseen by the UN. In case this proposal proves unpopular with the American people, we could win their hearts and minds by dropping naan bread and dried curry in plastic bags stamped with the Afghan flag.

Putting aside his mockery, Monbiot's piece above pointed out that the only moral difference between America's terrorism and that of AQ is that the latter was puny by comparison. The trail of blood is endless: from the subjugation of the Philippines and Central America, to the greatest terrorist acts of all, the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki; from the devastation of Indochina, such as the murder of 600,000 in neutral Cambodia, and the use of chemicals and starvation against civilian populations, to the shooting down of an Iranian passenger plane and the bombing of prisoner's of war in a mud fort in Afghanistan and Clinton's ordering of the missiles fired at the Al-Shifa pharmaceutical plant in Sudan in 1998. The documentation of American terrorism is voluminous.

I'm not amused.. Our government is an enormous criminal organisation that is becoming increasingly overbearing. I'm tired of the federal monster and its central bank taking away our wealth and our liberty at gunpoint under the guise of protecting and providing for us, and now of course spying on us all to make sure we don't get out of their control.

Got proof of that? You seem pretty certain about that while dismissing Saudi sponsorship. If the funds and the masterminding came from Saudi Arabia, which seems quite likely under the pre-war circumstances (we aided the Taliban against the Soviets not too long before 9/11, for crying out loud), then I would sooner call Saudi Arabia a state sponsor of terrorism than dirt-poor, uneducated Afghanistan.

Does this BS even matter anymore?

We were attacked by Muslim extremists, they are everywhere.

We attacked Muslim extremists worldwide afterward, but sidelined it for a bit to enact a bit of vengeful justice because our president was kinds pissy.

At this point, we are somehow managing to keep these extremists from expanding in the western world...we simply need to sit back and let them keep doing what they have done for thousands of years.

    Kill each other.

    Argh you're so infuriating. :angered:

That's not how it works, I don't need to investigate an obvious conclusion based on the information in the world presented to me. I read the newspaper! No where does it say that Saudi Arabia funded the attack with the intention to commit terrorism against the USA.

The USA has always been an immigrant nation, and there is a lot of illegal immigration activity going on everyday across our borders. I didn't see ANY reason to investigate a connection to Saudi Arabia. And, The experts ALSO didn't regard this as a relevant area to investigate/ Therefore, I don't even consider the possibility of a plot.

To top it off the USA has a high quality intelligence force, if anyone would know about such a connection THEY would know about the connection. Not only that, but after the Patriot Act was passed, it's LEGAL for the USA to monitor financial transactions.

You might want to check your mood icon. Angry might be a better selection. And I'm guessing you are not a naturalized citizen judging by how you spell "organization" with an s. Are you an ex-English patriot?

I don't think anyone questions the fact that wealthy "Saudi"s were supporting Al Qaeda and it seems pretty clear that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed did the masterminding. Just like his nephew Ramzi Youssef masterminded the 1993 WTC bombing. both from Balochistan, an area encompassing part of Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Helmand and Kandahar provinces in Afghanistan. The area in Iran, home to the Baloch nationalist rebels that have been fighting against the Iranian government, supported by the Baathist and Saddam in Iraq since the 1950s. From the Iraqi newspaper in July 2001

One might conclude the outstretched arms of the twin WTC towers is "the arm that is already hurting" from the 1993 WTC attacks, the White House was the target of the plane that was forced down by the passengers in Pennsylvania, and an Iraqi Newspaper identified all three targets of 9/11/2001 in July of 2001. Eerily similar to 1993 when

And a few weeks later in February of 93 an Iraqi bombmaker and Ramzi Youssef, traveling with Iraqi passports detonate a bomb in the basement of WTC, and flee to Iraq. Ramzi Youssef, the nephew of Khalid Muhammad who materminded the 9/11 attacks.

And might as well top it off with that weird letter Saddam wrote to the American people after 9/11

That doesn't mean our government would act on the information. Saudi Arabia has long been of significant strategic importance to the US. They absolutely would cover up Saudi involvement as much as they could manage, and of course would gleefully come up with an alternative target of popular hatred and military attack, such as the stupid Taliban government in Afghanistan and a regime in Iraq that our lovely "leaders" were already intent on taking down even before the events of 9/11, as we've heard again already in this thread.

Our foreign policy is not decided by simple right and wrong. It is primarily economic in nature.

Ok, now you are talking about something else...Fine. Most of the hijacker's were Saudi citizens and 9-11 was exploited by Bush for political reasons. Is that even controversial?

A cover up doesn't fit the narrative of the story given to us about Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden. But, for the sake of argument, Let's assume that Saudi Arabia was responsible for a terror attack on the USA. Even if nothing can be done for public appearance sake. The attack would still be avenged. The responsible party in Saudi Arabia would still pay, behind the scenes.

Afghanistan protected the planners of 911 and Iraq was already at war with the US among other nations.
