So what? I have no doubt that many actors/producers/directors remain anonymous until they produce something notable which brings them into the spotlight.
Many war and anti-war films (notably All Quiet on the Western Front) have also received acclaim. I'm guessing which is 'politically correct' or otherwise depends on your point of view.

"Anti white piece of liberal propaganda"? Now this really is ridiculous, unless you can demonstrate when and where it was made clear that that was the intention of the director. Oh, you cannot? Well there's a surprise...

That's what he pretends to be when he's in trouble. He's just an "entertainer".

The rest of the time he's telling >>>MOD EDIT: RACIAL SLUR<<< that he's the most important man in the conservative movement.

Complaining constantly about racism in a thread and then using a racial slur.. Tsk tsk....

    Such a double standard.

Way to not read an article.

He didn't say it didn't deserve to win. He said it would have won, whether it was good or not.
Basically the same thing said by the liberal the night before... the one everybody is excusing.

Don't let that stop you from calling him names though.

ffs, the hatred and name calling in this thread is so childish.

Lol, the juvenility of the left is so apparent in Limbaugh threads, isn't it?

    "Limpballs" ?

Apparently a whole bunch of name-calling liberals, by the looks of the number of comments they're all posting.

    Thanks for joining.

    That's what I said, genius.

So, since you (like all the other libs in the thread) claim he said he "hates" the movie:

Please show us where he said that.

Who said that she did? It is a perception joke, and in this case it effects extremists differently, depending on who is delivering the lines.

I find it ODD when people complain when "Liberals" do what they do. Rush knows that Hoolywood is packed full of "Liberals" so why would it be even note-worthy to comment on what they doto entertain themselves[Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences] ...especially in an act as benign as Best Motion Picture?

Not to worry Rush, maybe next year that "White Jesus" movie will be in the running...we can all pray.

Yes she did a great job with her character, many others did as well. Great cast all in all. I guess that would depend on what it is the academy was looking for. You can obviously win great cinematography, or special effects, and still have a terrible movie. Best picture is more for the script and storyline and typically rewarded to realistic fact-based dramas, set in the recent or distant past, that employ lots of exceptional actors. Since they expanded the nomination pool more of the artsy contenders were involved and that is why this movie did so well. It matched all the necessary criteria of what a good movie is expected to be, by the academy anyway. If it was the MTV awards the criteria would be considerably different, most likely more credence given to raunchy and popularity.

    Yes.

Actually quite a few are looking forward to seeing it.

So did you agree with Degeneres or not?

Here is what Ellen said addressing the academy voters and attendees who I am quite sure we overwhelmingly Democrats "Possibility number one: 12 Years a Slave wins best picture. Possibility number two: You’re all racists." ..

So where, if as you assert, she was making fun of Republicans did she get the idea they are all Republicans?

Obviously if you have to explain it it was already lost in translation. I didn't write the joke, if you have a problem with it take it up with them.

My point was that both extremes took basically the same punch lines and accepted them with completely different meanings.

If you asked me she was actually attacking the notion that if you don't like what Obama or what he does you are a racist, yet democrats took it as a dig on republicans, because its common knowledge among them that republicans are all racists, and obviously the academy isn't since they didn't choose the racist path as they would have "IF" they were republicans. I never said her angle was a good one but it worked for her audience just like Limbaugh's angle worked for his audience. Literally a good example of the sheeple mentality, same joke, taken completely different depending on who the intended target was and who delivered it. This is why the country is so divided, and basically doomed. Not enough people thinking for themselves and taking their opinions from clowns.

I have no problem with the joke, you seem to have a problem with where she said it and to whom she was addressing.

No the right saw them as they are, the same satirical comment while the left tried to make distinctions between or were ignorant of the fact that Limbaugh was making the same comment as Degeneres.

She nor Limbaugh said anything about Obama and this has nothing to do with Obama. The fact remains she was NOT making fun of Republicans but of liberals.

I thought I explained what my view was on it?

Right it was funny to democrats when she said it and offensive to democrats when Limbaugh said it. With ya all the way.

The reference was/is about republicans attitude towards Obama as perceived by democrats. So was Limbaugh's based on his own perception of what democrats perceive. It isn't really that complicated is it?

I actually think Limbaugh was closer to the mark satirically speaking, and Ellen's was misdirected, but I am neither the target audience for either, so I don't have a problem with the joke I just don't think it is that funny no matter which side says it.

Degeneres is an idiot just like Limbaugh. Although good ole Rush has a history of making stupid comments.

And Rush's base takes everything he says seriously.

I realize insulting them both is now the only way out of this for those who want to demonize Limbaugh....since they said the same thing...
But I thought you gays loved DeGeneres. I do, and I'm a straight Conservative.

It's funny how often this gets said here, when every listener of Rush has called him nothing more than an entertainer.

I guess it helps to belittle your enemy while attacking them... instead of just being realistic.
