Dr. Ben Carson – who is considering a run for president in 2016 – fear mongered that there is the “potential” for “widespread anarchy” in the U.S. that might disrupt or cause the cancellation of the 2016 election.

On Fox News Sunday today, there was the following exchange between host Chris Wallace and Carson:

WALLACE: You are thinking about running for president in 2016. And I want to talk to you about that in a moment, but it has brought attention back to some of your comments as it does to any candidate potentially running for president. You said recently that you thought that there might not actually be elections in 2016 because of widespread anarchy. Do you really believe that?

CARSON: Well, I hope that that’s not going to be the case, but certainly there is the potential. Because you have to recognize that we have a rapidly increasing national debt. A very unstable financial foundation. And you have all these things going on like the ISIS crisis that could very rapidly change things that are going on in our nation. And unless we begin to deal with these things in a comprehensive way, and in a logical way, there is no telling what could happen in just a matter of a couple of years. And particularly in a situation where we have a Senate and a Senate leader who has over 300 bills sitting on his desk will not bring them to the floor for a vote, thereby thwarting the will of the people. And this country was supposed to be a country where the government conformed to the will of the people, not the people conform to the will of the government.

As Think Progress noted, “The United States has held presidential elections every four years since 1788, despite a civil war, two world wars, and a great depression.

Naturally, it's almost impossible, but I think progressives should do everything they can....especially in open primary states....to try to get Ben Carson the 2016 Republican Presidential Nomination.

Clearly, he represents the true heart of the GOP and we should help in anyway we can the Carson supporters who say they support him.....especially since many of them won't actually VOTE for him once in the privacy of the voting booth.

Think Limbaugh's "Operation Chaos" ....something his fans endorsed and engaged in....and certainly would support progressives and Democrats doing in 2016 to help Dr. Carson win the GOP Nomination.

My hope for 2016?....Dr. Ben Carson as the Republican Presidential Nominee....with maybe Sen. Ted Cruz or Rick Santorum or Rep. Steve King as the Vice-Presidential Nominee.

I thought you guys were begging for Christy to run, no wait...you were begging for Romney to run....no wait, your begging for Carson to run.

Just face it, you think any republican nominee is going to lose so what is the point here?

Not me, Spooky....I want THE most conservative, most "pure", most Tea Party candidate to win the 2016 Republican Nomination....same as the Tea Partyers do.

Or even better...Dr. Carson....and I'm calling for EVERYbody to try to get him the Nomination.

    You with me?

The only remarkable thing about Ben Carson is that he is obviously highly intelligent or he would not have been a surgeon yet he believes in a politics that contradicts all the signs of intelligent life as we know it. How can one be this smart yet this oblivious to reality? It is as if Newton ran for office supporting the notion that aliens on Mars were about to attack at any moment. Now, I am not equating Carson with Newton's incredible genius but we must accept the fact that anyone who is a surgeon is most certainly one of the smartest people around. How can one be this smart yet this stupid at the same time? The mind is a funny thing.

Wide spread 'apathy' possibly. Anarchy would last a week. Or at least only until those entitlement checks stopped showing up.

Ya know, I like Ben Carson. I may just join you. But what would we do with all that sanity in the White House?

"may just"? Doesn't sound very enthusiastic, ronmatt?

Dr. Carson would be a perfect candidate for conservatives....wouldn't he?

I'd still vote for him. It is truly unique in world history, and we are the oldest republic, that every single transition from one president to the next has been peaceful. It's incredible. I dare call it exceptional.

A MAN of SCIENCE, a DOCTOR--"first do no harm", this PARTISAN HACK needs to have his medical license revoked! He doesn't need it anymore anyway. He is a REPUBLICAN SHILL now!

A brilliant talented man who has gone off the rails. I don't get it.

This kind of prediction used to be the provence of Buford T Justice types in the GOP, and have been made regularly like clockwork, ever since that other black man became President.

Evidently, this "300 bills" claim is the GOP talking point to distract the faithful from their own obstruction and lack of any plan or platform.

Carson walks the talking points with the best of them.

He'll get his check from Rogers.

I fully expect him to join the clown car in progress in the next year ,and scam the audience for a few months, while he builds up his speaking fees and then quit. That's what Herman Cain, Fred Thompson and Donald Trump did. Most of the talk radio wingnuts can't tell the difference between a real candidate and a charletan scamming them, and their media doesn't care, as long as they stay tuned in.

Well, I'm not exactly a conservative. I still harbor reservations regarding religion and politics all mixed up together. I'm a fiscal conservative yet a social moderate of sorts.

    I'm not kidding.

I can't think of a candidate who best exemplifies the Tea Party than Dr. Carson. I seriously (if non-optimistically) would want him to tbe the 2016 Republican Presidential or even VIce-Presidential candidate.

Mind you my motivation might be SLIGHTLY different from the TPers or the supposed Carson supporters.

(I say "supposed Carson supporters" because as we saw with Herman Cain...a lot of white rightwingers SAID they supported Cain....but "oddly" voted for somebody else in the privacy of the voting booth??? :) )

American's DO NOT WANT ANOTHER LEFTIST, and have made clear that they will NOT VOTE for a candidate continuing Obama's wrongheaded nonsense.

You and yours are so out of touch with most Americans, you think "Race, Gay Rights, and Womens' Issues" are "Big Issues" to the voters.

    DEAD WRONG.

Utter BS! Anarchy would begin as soon as the DOW dropped the first 100 points! Then WALL STREETwould DEMAND something be done and LONG LONG LONG before the first welfare or SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS were missed! Let me assure you WALL STREET has a helluva lot more pull than even GRANDMA and the 'welfare recipient' could die in the street and NO one would give a (*)(*)(*)(*). LOCAL COPS WOULD SHOOT THEM DOWN as soon as the first 'riot'.

On the RIGHT?? None. Even a Christie will invoke/evoke (BOTH) GOD, RELIGION, CHRISTIAN VALUES (as investigations continue against him for payola and sabotaging
    a political 'enemy').

Carson's concerns are valid, in that Obama will act as no other President has....if he loses the Senate in November. Frankly he is already planning actions which are mild to what is likely to come, by executive action, through the various department heads (regulation) and by way of social media, where he feels is support. As Carson said, I hope I'm wrong, but too much has already been done, that at any given point IMO something will tick him off and he will ignore law or the consequences to this country.

As for Carson running for President...As Palin has been a voice, so could Carson be for years to come. If he runs in the primaries, he would lose and that voice of reason, be diminished.
