Lefts and so-called 'progressive' people are enraged if they hear the Word 'Theocracy'. I mind the Christian Theocracy, a Movement of True Christians of different denominations who still believe in God and Holy Scriptures.
We have already tried different kind of societies like socialism, communism, capitalism and almost all were failed or gonna to be failed:

The nominally western 'Christian' societies are heading to depopulation of native folks, deindustrialization ( China is laughing ), annihilation of families, moral, Traditional Values and finish as Islamic States with Sharia law or, more possibly, a coming nuclear war with Russia.

Why the Rest of True Christians different denominations can not leave their already dead apostasy 'churches' and to found a Movement of the Last Christians who want to live according to the God's Commandments and Rules of the Holy Bible.

Or do you prefer to live in societies with any kind of sin, lie and murder?

Do you really believe our corrupted politicians will save our world?

No, they are already pushing us to a nuclear annihilation in struggle with Russia.

Is it probably not better to live in a Theocracy without war and lies as to burn in fire of nukes and as former sinner go to Hell?

Did you redeem the first born of your donkey with a lamb? If you didn't then you should have broken its neck. Exodus 34:20

Did you do any work of any kind on the sabbath? Did you tie your shoe laces or do any tasks around the house? If you did then stone yourself to death.

Do you really want to live by 5,000 year-old ethnocentric Middle Eastern customs in 21st Century America?

Theocracy also has a dismal history of failure, and the cause was the same as what afflicts all the others: obsessive materialsm , self-aggrandizement, greed, etc. Failure occurs when the wrong individuals, despots, etc., usurp power.

Theocracy won't work better than any other system. The problem is dominant individuals always finding a way to turn it to their devious advantage.

Theocracy does, however, have the correct pattern for success, but it it tends to suffer from flawed beliefs that have been intentionally placed there by those who wish to dis-empower and control the masses.

Success will come when a tipping point is reached, when sufficent numbers of mass consciousness perceive the correct understanding of our place in reality and the right to progress without oppressive control by those who overprivilege themselves at the expense of others.

If you want to live under an Abrahamic theocracy then feel free to move to The Abrahamic Republic of Iran, my friend.

Well ISIS/Hamas/Boko want to live by (only) 1400 year-old Middle Eastern customs in the 21st century, so maybe he could join them, and leap ahead about 3600 years.

Because there are over 1400 Christian sects in America and they don't agree... Theocracy is not for America.. we are far too independent and only pull together in a crisis.

ISIS/Hamas/Boko/AQ/Taliban/AlShabab/AbuSayyaf....yep, all those want Sharia and love/emulate Mohammad more than just about any other Muslims on the planet do. And they all also seem to have no problem having sex with 9 year-old little girls like their prophet/role-model did. Obviously, religion has done something to their brains, which is not all that uncommon.

That would explain why the Bible (see other posts of mine for a reference) has no less cruelty and violence in it than the Qur'an does.

And they all are very very happy:

It is the Fact that most of professional 'politicians' are deviant corrupted liars who destroy our Christian civilization and lead us to Hell.We should better trust God, not crazy ragtag who lie non stop 24/7 to us.

I can't agree more. We should live in a Theocracy and Tibetan Buddhism is the perfect choice. They have a very stable political system. The Dalai Lama has been ruling for centuries thanks to reincarnation plus think of all the wisdom he has accumulated in that time. They believe in peace and moderation. Just the kind of thing our country needs.

Hold on, I just heard something at the door... Oh my Buddha, it is zombie Thomas Jefferson and zombie George Washington! I'm sorry guys, please don't eat me, I was just kidding. I wasn't trying to destroy everything you created! It is all Ostap Bender's fault! He started the thread. What...? Oh I see. I guess that wouldn't work if you are looking for brains. Well, have some of mine, I've got plenty to go around. You know, it is quite an honor to be eaten by... ARRRGGHHH!!!

Theocracy can be found multiple times in our history. Most christian examples can be found throughout the middle ages, and I dare to say that there was war back then.

The problem with a theocratic regime is that usually the noisy extremists come to power. The general public which is different from their theocratic leaders are usually not noisy enough. Rarely the nice peaceful family who goes to church on Sundays gets into the news. Same thing is true for most countries in the world.

The problem therefore with Theocracy is that not the moderate family guy become the leader, but the extremist religious person who has an agenda becomes the leader.

That's why they included so many references to God and Jesus in the Constitution, right?

In Islam YES but not in Christianity, I do not know major theocratic Christian communities leading by extremists.Probably you can help.
Amish, Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, many Orthodox and Fundamental Baptists do not have any extremists because it is against the Spirit of Jesus Teaching.

And in case, if an 'extremist' demands to stop sexual 'education' in school, to stop drinking alcohol or is against gay 'marriage' then what is here wrong?

I'm surprised that you use the avatar of Uncle Sam. Changing the US to a Theocracy is the worst idea I have ever heard. This country was built on religious freedom. The pilgrims left England because they wanted religious freedom. It is what makes this country great. Yet, here you are spitting on the Constitution and our forefathers. You should purchase a ticket and fly over to the middle east and duke it out with ISIS for control. You guys deserve each other.

First the question: Yes he's wrong.

But let me clarify what I mean. Christian theocracy demands the same thing as Islam, and that is to make somebody believe in your religion and if necessary by force. A few centuries back when people had a lot of faith, they forced muslims to eat pork, in order to force them to change their religion. This worked actually because people were so deeply religious. However, the most famous examples of theocracy may come from the Vatican. For example when pope Gregory VII. calls for a crusade or when innocent women are killed in a which-hunt. Millions of people have died in christian communities because of a lack of understanding and a lack of tolerance. In Europe, the Vatican was the biggest slave trader and the last to abolish slavery. It is unfortunately a big problem with any theocracy, because they tend to be backwards thinking. Meaning, they tend to look at some time in the past, when everything was better. This unfortunately isn't true, and by going backwards with policies people are usually worse of and more restricted. If you look at any region of the world, you will notice that the most religious communities are noticeably economically behind. I dare to say you can see that even in the US, with states like Mississippi being behind very liberal states like Massachusetts. Over 90% of all advanced degree holders are atheists, therefore making it hard to find faithful people in science or universities. And the universities and scientists are mostly responsible for progress.

Most people unfortunately only know of the Holocaust as an anti-semite tragedy, when that has been true in Europe approximately every 200 years (unfortunately), if not even more often. The Vatican acknowledged quite late (if my memory serves me right in the late 1950s) that the Holocaust and killing jews is actually bad. Remember not too long ago the jews were blamed by christian communities for the killing of Jesus and pretty much everything else in the world. When the plague hit, jews were blamed and killed in masses. With every economic crises the jews were blamed and persecuted. This was true during the great depression in the US and the zionist-conspiracy theories with every crisis (whether economic or otherwise). The term "pogrom" was well know and established prior to the Nazis.

A lack of ignorance whether it's against homosexuals or jews or muslims or any other group is simply wrong. And because few people are tolerant enough, we have to force them by law to be tolerant. In Austria we have a so-called women quota (after a German model), which forces employers to have a certain percentage of employees in all position to be female. Unfortunately too many employers were and still are unwilling to hire a women in high ranking positions.

ah .... you're actually talking about a MIDDLE EASTERN mythology and culture. if you want a western theocracy you'll need to look to Odin, or the old Roman gods. Or even Druidism ... yeah, druidism. I like the idea of dancing around Stonehenge at midnight. Where's that Pentangle cd ....
