Oh, that's already been planned for.....well, a 1000 yr time of peace, but then the fiery destruction... however, the good news is there will be a 'new earth' following the 'purge (fire burns off the dross)

    You're Welcome......

you're doomsday prepping for something which has about a one in fifty squillion chance of actually happening? in 1000 years?

I'll stick with trying to help extend the useful life of this lump of rock for another few generations.

    No prepping here!

B4 the Millennium will be the 7 yrs of tribulation upon the earth, which scripture says is not for the faithful (ergo, 'divinely' protected thru it, as in manna time again...fact am going to start working on a cookbook called "1000 Ways to Prepare Manna")....after that, I'm outa here.................................................

EDIT: What was the cable show describing all the ways life could be wiped out on earth (Quasar blasts, asteroids, disease, etc. etc.) as we've been living in a 'brief period' of grace w/o any major life changing catastrophes. Just in the US, the populations along the CA fault lines, by the NW volcanoes, Yellowstone caldera, etc. wont be there forever as ALL scientists agree.

And cupid david and I agree that the 2nd Coming will be sometime between 2025-2033 AD, with a 7 yr tribulation before it; so then you might want to cash in/sell your insurance policies as early as 2018 (that's just 3 more years) and for sure by 2026, so you can enjoy the $$$ as they will be worthless in the time of global catastrophe..

Again, no charge and you're welcome for the financial advice.

The "catastrophe" will be that Islam and Christianity watch while the Jews all accept Jesus as their messiah ben Joseph, who was endowed with the sirit of Elijah in 32 AD.

10 And I will pour upon the house of David, (i.e.; Christianity), and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, (Judah, there now), the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me, (Jesus), whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon, (i.e.; Armageddon).

I understand the concept of "1st the physical, and then comes the spiritual fulfillment,' as in the OT types & prophecies of the NT Messiah & His church.

But why do you call the above a 'catastrophe?

Yes,.. Israel is a perfect example to use here, in suggesting that the Revelation was predicting history which was to unfold over time:

In Rev 11, we read seven verses which are hard to ignore in regard to the Jews and the prelude to the establishment of Israel:

Rev. 11:7 And when they, (the two candlesticks; the House of Jacob and the House of Judah), shall have finished their testimony (against their own messiah ben Joseph, and changed their written texts in he Talmud so as to remove the name of Jesus and their direct protests against him), the (seven headed) beast (of Western civilization) that (had) ascendeth out of the bottomless pit (in The Renaissance) shall make (secular) war against them, (these Jews of the diaspora), and shall overcome them (in 1942), and kill them (with gas and starvation and brutalities).

Rev. 11:8 And, (the House of Jacob and the house of Judah), their dead bodies shall lie in the street (of Nazi Paganism) of the great city (which is the tenth horn of Western Civilization), which spiritually (in its philosophical outlook) is called Sodom, (a place practicing pagan sexual license and libidinal excess, one to be destroyed by fire) and (that ancient place of Jew trust in the shadow of) Egypt, (the time of their confusion: [Isa. 30:2-3]: Egypt, the land of both their beloved Joseph and also, their slavery), where, (in their blindness of scriptural truth) also our Lord was crucified (among them in 32 AD).

Rev. 11:9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations (of the 1260 years of the Jewish dispersion among them, the Diaspora), shall not see their dead bodies to be put in graves (but in Concentration Camps) three days (of years) and an half, (i.e.; 1942-1945), and kill them (with gas and starvation and brutalities)

Rev. 11:10 And they that dwell upon the earth, (in Nazi Western Europe), shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send (supposed Christian seasonal) gifts one to another, (like the skin of Jews for lampshades, etc); because these two prophets, (the House of Jacob and the house of Judah, the two candlesticks: [Rev 11:4]), tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

Rev. 11:11 And after (the Holocaust), three and an half days (of years, 1942-1945), the Spirit of life from God entered into them, (the House of Jacob and the House of Judah: [Rev 11:4]), and they stood upon their feet (in the land Promised); and great fear fell upon them (in Islam) which saw them, (the prophecy of the Fig Tree, blooming was fulfilled: [Matt 24:32).

Rev. 11:12 And (the survivors), they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither (where all Nations can see). And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud (of history); and their enemies (especially in Palestinia) beheld them.

Rev. 11:13 And the same hour was there a great "earthquake," (i.e.; Israeli Statehood!!), and the tenth part of the city, (the Promised Land), fell (to the returning Jews), and in the "earthquake" (of their in-gathering) were slain of (muslim) men, seven thousand: and the remnant (Islamic armies) were affrighted, and (all the Judaeo-Christian world) gave glory to the God of heaven (that prophecy had been fulfilled).

Some would call that "praying in the spirit."

    versus concerning:

Romans 8:26 - Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

    Ephesians 6:18 - Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Jude 1:20 - But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

1 Corinthians 14:15 - What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

1 Corinthians 14:14 - For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

Often referred to as 'praying in tongues," but also 'in silence' would indicate making the 'mind' unfruitful and praying one's spirit to the Holy Spirit of God. A spirit-to-Spirit connection.

Not a TOTAL lie.....they believed Jesus had a "better way" and that he was "inspired by God". They just "embellished" things to sell that belief.....virgin birth, water into wine, resurrection from the dead.

Call it "Madison Avenue in the 1st Century"....You like Coke, you want to sell Coke, you tell people Coke was "created by God, just like the legends said".

And not all the disciples faced death.

1st of all, a disciple is a follower (at one time Jesus commissioned 70 of them) as disciplined after; whereas an Apostle was an office(12 originally labeled as such who knew * walked w/Jesus, but later many of the church leaders were so called)

"faced" death?! Saul (later Paul) held the coats of the Jews stoning early followers.

Being under the continuous threat of death just from the Jews---read "Foxe's Book of Martyrs" and get back to me....

But NOT ALL followers of Jesus faced death or the threat of death....that would be a false claim. Ergo, you can't claim "They had to be telling the absolute truth...they were facing death".

Also, back to my main point........Suppose you thought a general in a war would win the war because he was a great general...you'd even die under his command because you believed in him and his cause....and to get others to join the battle, you "fudged" a few details about the general's military career.....claimed he never lost a battle and that was false, claimed he graduated top of his class at school and that was false, claimed he single-handedly killed 100 enemies once and that was false....

because you wanted to rally support to the general....who may in fact be a good and intelligent general......just not some "Superman"......and then you die in battle ...

and later fans of that General say "See? Everything they said MUST be true....would soldiers voluntarily die in battle to uphold a 'lie'???"

BTW, this is the answer to C.S. Lewis' postulate "Liar, Lunatic...or Lord?" which postulates the same theory you do....that the Apostles "could not" exaggerate what they claimed about Jesus because it would make them "liars" (and that "makes no sense since SOME voluntarily became martyrs) or "lunatics" (and that "makes no sense since it would have to be mass insanity").

(Note: Lewis was not saying that JESUS was either a "liar or a lunatic"....since he understood that Jesus wrote NOTHING about himself....he was referring to the Apostles)

The failure of Lewis' argument is as I stated above.....a little "harmless exaggeration" ...which linked Jesus to Elijah (for Jews) or the Greco-Roman gods (like Dionysus....water into wine, born of a virgin)......as a "selling point" to both Jews and Greco-Romans.

Surely you see the "odd coincidence" that Jesus' Biographers granted him the same "powers and abilities".....that the legends of Elijah and the myths of Dionysus/Bacchus granted them centuries earlier.....and how HELPFUL it would be in selling Jesus to people who believed in Elijah and Dionysus?

Lets start out with 3 major religions as well as the historian Josephus acknowledge the man Jesus as being 'unique' whether just in words or also deeds.

He drew large crowds..not just those ppl w/o jobs who had time on their hands, but also for the 'free lunch' (loaves & fishes). Miracles or just a good credit card?!

And the delusional man Jesus who was tortured & slowly killed with much suffering, who could have backed out of the whole process with simple words of "just kidding,' did not.

Wonder how long the big-talking Gorn Captain would have endured such to make 'his points?!" I say, he would have folded like a cheap suit when just accused the night in the garden under threat of mere imprisonment....no anonymous hero here!

Again, the OT is full of "types" of NT manifestations!

Joshua (name meant 'savior') delivered the ppl and lead them to the 'promised land.'

Abraham was a type of God the Father, as when going to sacrifice his only begotten son of the promise, and later called by both Jews & Arabs as their Father.

God continually reveals and validates his plans (1st the physical, and then the spiritual) with precursory "types." Not exactly the same events, but similar as in 'pointing to'---if exactly the same, they WOULD BE the actual events.

Did Josephus say Jesus walked on water, turned water into wine, was born of a virgin, and resurrected from the dead?

If not....citing him only makes my point.

And let's look at the "loaves and the fishes"......"fish tales" coming to mind. Suppose, the way it REALLY went down was there was a big crowd, couple dozen or so..... and Jesus told his fishermen friends to bring their catch up to the hill for a fish-fry.....and like the story of "Stone Soup", a few of the folks there said "I have some bread, I'll bring that".

Then, years later, trying to promote their Friend, the Apostles turned it into a "miracle" of "feeding thousands with 3 fish and 5 loaves of bread"?

Not a "total lie"....just a "fish tale"...which grew in the telling.

Then the "Big Ones" ....virgin birth and resurrection from the dead. Again, is it not at all "coincidental" to you that both aspects of Jesus.....also were attributed to "demi-gods" in Roman, Greek, and Egyptian mythology (that pre-dated Jesus by centuries)? Dionysus being a prime example (water into wine as well)....but also Osiris of Egypt.

Again....the fish grew six inches in the telling....and maybe even "talked" and "did calculus with his fins". :)

    - - - Updated - - -

Now imagine the Apostles...hoping to woo Jews to Christianity.....used the story of Abraham sacrificing his son Isaac....and applied it to Jehovah and Jesus?

So this diabolical group of folks took about 300 prophecies from the OT and applied them to their loser Messiah (as he didnt go out on a high note!) to create a religion of lies all the time proclaiming such as the truth.

Anyone can justify what they 'want' to believe---the proof is in the following of those who are living His words out TODAY.

As I posted b4, "Rewriting history is a favorite past time of those who disagree with it or are threatened by it. And denial is the tool most used to not just discredit something but to disavow it ever existed. "

Sorry, all the words in the world cant help YOU in your unbelief...if you are serious about a personal revelation, start praying for an NDE that ONLY you can recognize & accept...most ppl come to His message on a personal basis when hitting rock bottom in their lives (humbled as scriptures refers to as "being poor in spirit") and running out of 'self'....and you have a pretty high opinion of yourself, and so havnt been there.....YET!

you will be aware, of course, of the many Buddhist monks who've set themselves on fire to make a religious point. and the many thousands of others (non-Christian) who've elected to die for their beliefs go without saying.

why is this idea of the 'uniqueness' of your fables so entrenched? one barely has to open one's eyes and there are a thousand examples of the very same sort of stuff, right there for the purposes of comparison.

proof of what? that people are human?

since there is no quantifiable difference in the 'goodness' of people based on variety of religion or the lack of religion, what you say here makes zero sense. or are you making an appeal to popularity? if so, then big mac's are the finest cuisine in the world. the numbers sold are 'proof'.

Instead of joining in your usual tail-chasing folly (which is not profitable except possibly for those who make their living treating carpal tunnel syndrome),

let me just summarize all of your postings on the forum with this summary:

I thank God that I'm not responsible for your soul (nor anyone else's) but only have to get out the 'message. '

As ppl like you have been around since the Resurrection and unless fortunate enuf to have a 'road to Damascus' revelation wont believe. Mockers & scoffers will increase toward the end times (as previously quoted per scripture) and so you 'apparently' are one of those mentioned in scripture as "many are called, but few are chosen,' or 'choose to be chosen' which is the result of a 'heart condition.' God knows the hearts of men, their "thoughts & intentions."

And so as you go thru your life in your laughing boy folly, saying I'm 'sincere' in my unbelief; but is 'sincerely wrong' a good enuf excuse to justify where you end up in eternity?

What makes the 2000 yrs and Billions of ppl different than you in accepting this life changing truth? Do you disagree with the words of Jesus who was a humanitarian and called out the dead religious ppl of His time? What is your problem with His message?

The rejection of His 'message' is not new among self-proclaimed pseudo-intellectuals, as Paul (a learned man of his time) who scoffed at the message until physically struck blind (Jesus said that he came to show those who 'thought they see' but were in fact blind...'spiritually), such as the Greeks in the Agora who hung around discussing philosophy and contemplating their navels all day. Just as those on this forum, as an example, who think that their 'many words' will justify their rebellion against the 'message.'

Some have made a conscious decision to reject 'the message' given by the One called 'the truth' and per the scripture " And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart" also validates this 'heart condition' problem.

The problem is NOT with the humanitarian 'message' of humility and serving mankind, but with the soul of the one who rejects it.

Bottom line, neither the message or the messenger is the problem, but rather the hard heart (ref Parable of the Sower: the non-productive seed/word of God when spread along 'the hard ground') of the hearer.

But did they follow up Gen 22 with the ram idea when the Holocaust came @2000 years later??

Gen. 22:13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him, (an uncastrated male sheep), a ram (also, figuratively, [ayil: the political chiefs]; symbolic of the European Jewish rabbi), caught in a thicket (of the Nazi persecution to come), by his horns, (or, his power: [symbolic Dictionary]):
and Abraham, (in analogy to God), went and took, (in absence of a lamb of God to come), the ram, (i.e.; the Jewish leadership in Europe of the 20th century to come), and offered him, (as a Burnt Offering, the sin offering, i.e.; the Jewish people, themselves: [Exodus 4:22 Then you shall say to Pharaoh, "Thus says the Lord, Israel is My son, my first born."]), up (in holocaust) for a burnt offering (in the crematoriums to come, the Burnt Offering of Israel, the chosen son of God:) in the stead of (Isaac? Ishmael?), his (only) son, (in analogy, as was Christ offered for their salvation).

Gen 25:6 Abraham (Erskine, creator of Captain America's Super Soldier serum) lived a hundred and seventy-five years (the number of years since Queen Victoria married Albert) 8 Then Abraham breathed his last (Good to the last drop, Maxwell House) and died at a good old age, (Good Old Rock and Roll- Bob Segar & the Silver Bullet Band) an old man (And The Sea by Ernest Hemingway) and full of years; (Wonder Years starring Fred Savage) and he was gathered to his people. (Up With People, the football stadium show) 9 His sons Isaac (the bartender on "The Love Boat") and Ishmael (famous whale hunter) buried him in the cave of Machpelah (I think this was a planet on "Star Trek") near Mamre, (mis-spelling of "Marne" the famous WW-I battle site) in the field of Ephron (Zak Ephron, the movie star) son of Zohar the Hittite, (playable character on "World of Warcraft") 10 the field Abraham had bought from the Hittites. (if you build it, he will come)
