I don't think you're following this story as close as others are or you wouldn't make those uninformed claims. I'll give you the benefit of doubt and assume you're getting your news from a left wing rag who isn't reporting on the stuff that makes libs look bad.
Ok, so neither side of this issue is getting all the information correct. Why does each side act as if the only side engaged in some kind of misinformation is their opponent?
For what it's worth, here's my take on this whole thing... everybody has a right to their own sexual identity and everybody has a right to their own religious beliefs. That's your own business... but when you go into business, that's everybody's business.... there is an implicit social contract between a proprietor and his or her patrons that's embodied in that business license. You have an obligation to serve the public. If it were Heaven's Gate Pizza instead of Memories Pizza, would their religious beliefs have legitimately allowed them to put cyanide in their pizzas so everyone could join them on their trip to the comet? Of course not! Why? Because it's part of the social contract that we don't expect to get cyanide or intolerance with our pepperoni and sausage. Don't agree with it? Then don't go into business!
They have a legally created obligation, true. The question is, where does this obligation originate? Philosophically, is it proper for the govt to classify any and all businesses as public entities subject to any laws a govt wants to enforce?

Really makes you wonder about all those "polls" showing how the majority is onboard with gay doesnt it? Seems when it comes time to show REAL support, it turns out the same way.
I don't agree with people making death threats toward the proprietors of this establishment. I think it's wrong for people to post negative reviews on Yelp as an act of retaliation against them. I think it was obviously unwise for them to have made the statements they did to the press. But that doesn't mean they deserve this kind of abuse.
I don't know if they called the police but the pizza joint is shut down and the family is in hiding. It's a shame because in 2008 Obama held the same belief on same sex marriage as these pizza people do and no one said a word.
