Sept 16th CNN GOP Debate

CNN was looking to start fights among the candidates.I bet if CNN hosts a
Democrat Debate,that not only will never happen but just the opposite.
They will do everything possible to help glorify each candidate and make
look like Mom's homemade apple pie.

 

Christie was his usual arrogant self. For example, his furious demand that only credentials as a politician matter and anything that anyone did outside of being a professional politician and government employee is worthless.

Overall, he's a federal government control freak with typical Democratic views that the federal government should override state government and that the federal police should read everyone's emails and watch all of us all the time. I understand why Democrats elect Christie, because he's a Democratic wolf in Republican clothing. Stabbing Romney in the back - after giving his nomination speech. So anti 2A that an adult having a BB gun or an unloaded 1700s flintlock sends you to prison in his state. Wants an unlimited federal government of unlimited power.

 

It's called passion.I don't expect a surgeon to show the same passion in his
chosen field, as say a Politican.After all Pols are basically ALL mouth.Promises and
pledges and attacking their opposition.Whereas a surgeon or doctor needs
if anything a bedside manner.There are a lot of movies and teleplays about
really good doctors who just didn't have the hands or temperament to be surgeons.
A surgeon is a special kind of doctor.There aren't really many in the way of Special
politicians.New York Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan was surely special.
Look who carpetbagged his seat { Hillary the Shrew }.

 

Americans have never kept their attention on anything for 15 months. If he doesn't come up with something new he's going to fad. People will tire of him raving on himself.

 

Never mentioned is that Carly Fiorina performed unpaid service on the Defense Business Board, which looked at staffing issues, among others, at The Pentagon

She also spent two years leading the Central Intelligence Agency's External Advisory Board, from 2007 to 2009 and became chairman of that board.

Foreign and military policy isn't entirely foreign to her. She gave the most precise statements of specific goals for the military and how the deal with Russian expansionism by far.

 

Absolutely agree. He won round 1 hands down.

I liked his counterpoint that it was his job to have working relationships with everyone when Bush tried to nail him on having Clinton at his wedding (never mind his own family's relationship with the Clinton's) but overall Bush destroyed him and the other candidates made him look like an idiot.

I was impressed. Not to the point of wanting to vote for her but it's early.

I didn't know this. Definitely improves her standing in my eyes.

 

Many surgeons have terrible bedside manners because most don't want to see a patient until they are under anesthesia.. Carson may be an exception.

 

Oh, BS pot does not kill people, there have been other things added that may have done so but pot itself does not kill, in fact it has medical uses. I do not smoke pot but like most people smoked it when I was younger. By the way saying "taking it" means you have no first hand experience and only have second hand knowledge of the topic.

Traffic accidents are not being killed by pot and more than having an accident while drinking, it is the actions of the person that resulted in the death and injuries. By the way there already laws against driving under the influence and they even include prescription drugs prescribed by a doctor, making pot legal would not increase the number of stupid people doing stupid things and most people that would smoke pot if where legal already smoke it now, not exactly hard to get. Oh good grief you act as if jumping off balconies is a common occurrence and people do stupid things when too high, many stupid acts start with "hold my beer and watch this". I never said pot was harmless, but I do say it is the least harmful of all the drugs out there except maybe caffeine, even though a few people get waaaay too much of that also.

Ban is not the answer, and it has already been proven to be a failure, not to mention that we live in a Free Society and as such should be able to make our own life choices and be responsible for our own actions.

Trump is still willing to depart from the worst of the GOP groupthink, though, from what I've heard, such as on the issues of abortion and single payer health care. Even if he is kind of a clown, at least he's more reasonable politically.

None of the clowns who "debated" by repeating memorised rhetoric designed to get idiots excited impressed me. I'd still go with Trump, who at least manages to be unique and not just spout the same tired GOP memes.

CNN needed more time for all the commercials they sold. It also had to be extended so people could actually find what channel CNN was on as it's been so long since anyone turned to their channel.

People die as a result of taking aspirin. Don't take things so literal. In the overall, pot doesn't kill, anymore than anything if done to abuse. And it is not a gateway drug. That is so 1960's thinking.

 

I had the debate on and was doing other things. It was my 1st exposure to him.
I liked his comments about going into Iraq, or actually advised against it.
He will use war, but as a last resort.
He would rather rally Americans, ala JFK and the man on the moon, than divide.
Just seemed to be the real deal.
Comments he made about his mother having to make her own way and that she said her kids would have to do the same.

 

I didn't get any of that from the debate. How did you?

 

Carly Fiorina was articulate, thoughtful, and calm. Donald Trump was a blowhard, buffoon, and childish as usual. Bush, Carson, and Rubio were decent.

 

Paul came out good, IMO.
Conservative without being extreme RW on all policies. Particularly war. I personally hate any who want war near the top as a deterrent.

 

Ive been smoking weed for 47 years and I got stoned a lot more on Vietnamese weed that anything I now smoke. No one has ever died from smoking pot. You cant OD on it.

 

Most start on milk and water like all of us. If anything cigarettes then are a gateway to pot. I never smoke cigarettes however but did for a few months when I was 15

Nah you grow out of most of them. At 67 I could not imagine doing acid again even though ive done it many many times in my youth.Same for cocaine

Yes, much better than he did the first debate. I'd like to see him debate with Bush, Rubio, and Fiorina without all the other distractions. It's really too bad the drug addicts have taken over this thread.

She did not lose a family member to Pot ?? It is true that some of the Pot today is more refined (stronger) but so what ? You just smoke less to get high.

I lost a family member as well but it was to drugs proscribed by a doctor. Pot is the safest drug one can do... far safer than Alcohol in many respects.

At the end of the day Fiorina is a disgusting hypocrite. To stand there and claim to be an upholder of the Constitution - individual rights and freedoms and in the next second be restricting individual rights and freedoms on the basis of garbage arguments and false claims is hypocritical, disingenuous and an affront to the ideas on which this nation was founded.
