What about all the other crimes that warrant the use of a firearm to protect yourself, like an attempted rape, domestic violence, carjacking, armed robbery, etc...????

They don't count as reasons for someone wanting to protect themselves and their loved ones????

No. The carnage won't be worse. Stopping a murderer in his/her tracks will always result in less carnage.

And what the hell is a "Shooty"?

I'm not waiting until the shooting equals "mass killings" before I defend my family.

Show me where CHL holders have had a mass shootout with each other. (Meaning more than 1 CHL holder mistakenly shooting another CHL holder)

And yet I knew someone who was shot for the crime of attending a Christian concert at a youth rally. Google Wedgewood Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX. They were fish in a barrel. CHL program had begun only 2 years prior and was not very common at the time. Church carry may have been added to the law after this shooting. I'm not sure. Now, someone is carrying in just about every church in Texas and I'm not hearing about mass shootings in Texas churches any more. That's only in the disarmed military bases.

Training is essential. Finding myself in a crowd of trigger-happy greenhorns in a such a panic-inducing situation is a prospect I'm glad is so highly improbable.

    Trigger-happy?

I'm assuming you are referring to criminals, thugs, rapist, terrorists, etc....and NOT CCW permit holders???

Because if you are referring to CCW permit holders as being "trigger-happy", then you couldn't be further from the truth.

Certainly not. Be vigilant, quicker on the draw, and never let them out of your sight unless they are all armed to the gills.

All are invariably sober as judges, cool as cucumbers, and unfailingly accurate. None ever panics, sweats, or misses.

Personally, I look both ways when crossing streets, instruct my kids to do likewise, and find that a far more useful safeguard, given the actual, relative dangers one is liable to encounter.

    Others may differ, of course.

Actually, I was unaware that any gun-wielding folks, especially in a life-threatening emergency, are issued unswervingly competent and capable cards.

    Live and learn.

So typical. First Lib's create a problem for us, then they give us advise on how WE should deal with it. "F" these gutless cowards. In a crisis they'd be the first ones to save their own asses by hiding in a closet.

this reminds me of the old "nuclear weapon" drills in school.

Crawl under desk, put hands over head, face away from blast. (Kiss (*)(*)(*) goodbye).

They don't need a government card, they only need practice. Maybe you should try that.

ahhh yes, there you have it folks. How people who disarmed themselves plan on defending themselves from being killed, play dead (uh huh...like a bear attack. I see) or OR grab one of closet fire extinguishers (which type? Did they say Leftists? anyone? ABC? HALON CO2?? Ohhh not the CO2...silly me that would contribute to global warming which caused the terrorism in the first place)
I would modify this a little, ask the nearest leftist to be the guy to use the fire extinguisher, that way when he is busy getting shot in the face 14 times the rest of you may have a few more seconds to escape.

Probably duck and cover and hope and pray a gun owning Republican is nearby to save the day.

I'm glad you know enough to only expose yourself exclusively to crowds of gunsters where all are invariably cool, calm, collected, competent, and capable.

Call me unnecessarily cynical, concerned and/or cautious, but I'm not so trusting of any crowd.

The best thing to do is probably avoid public places and large gatherings. I tend to watch my movies and sports at home, buy my products on-line (except for groceries), drink and eat at small restaurants/bars, and avoid airports like the plague. And it doesn't have anything to do with mass shootings. I just don't like the cattle scene.

But rush the (*)(*)(*)(*)er. They can't possibly stop you.

I would say that is because those qualified to shot back would already know what to do

if every joe shmoe had a gun, they might shoot you thinking you were the terrorist with a gun, if everyone had a gun it could be panic shooting from many lesser qualified gun owners

do we hold people responsible if they kill innocent bystanders by mistake?

they could of added at the end, if you choose to carry a gun, get training on how to use it or you could cause more harm then good

Acquiring a CCW permit requires training.

    Do you understand that?

that was my point, if you have a ccw the report wasn't for you as you would already have the training

everyone can carry a gun, just if you want to conceal it you need a ccw, strap it to your leg, no ccw needed

I do not own a gun, never have, but if I did carry one, I would myself want to conceal it

Great solution. Add a Barney Fife, frantically spraying more rounds around, who then gets shot when the police get there because they see a Rambo Wannabe with a gun.

    Brilliant!

Loaded and unloaded open carry is now banned in California thanks to Jerry Brown and is Democratic cohorts who control this state.

And CA is not a "shall issue" state. Acquiring a CCW permit in CA requires that one have a "good cause" and CA doesn't deem "self defense" a "good cause."

Know what the hell you are talking about before spouting off!

In the past 30 years, the number of states who now have "shall issue" CCW permitting has gone from 10 to over 40.

There are millions of CCW permit holders legally and lawfully carrying a weapon as we speak.

I don't see any so called "Barney Fife's" frantically spraying rounds, do you?

I noticed the same thing. Run, hide, play dead or poke at the terrorists with a stick but don't get a gun whatever you do..

You're creating theories that don't happen. When was the last time there was an active shooter, and a CC civilian shot another civilian thinking it was a shooter?
Meanwhile, a couple months ago, an armed cab driver takes out an active shooter.

You are basing your theories off your opinion of Joe Shmoe. Not any facts.

How many times has a CC holder shot another civilian by mistake vs. a CC holder shooting the active shooter?
