I'm just not a Nervous Nellie. I recognize that needing to defend myself against lightning strikes, killer bee assaults, shark attacks, and 40 kilo blocks of lime Jello® dropped on my head off a 4 storey building are also within the realm of possibility, but not probable enough for me to take precautions that incur an assumption of risk in themselves. If I calculate, based upon all the fatalities from accidents and suicides year after year, that my loved ones are safer without firearms around my home, no gun lover, no matter how enthusiastic, is about to sell me on the desirability of keeping a private arsenal. .
I am acknowledging the official statistics that show thousands being killed by guns in suicides and accidents year after year. I know of no one being killed by a bicycle that is kept in the home for supposed protection.
None of the thousands who die by guns every year have shared my abode. Whether I would let you move in is something I have not decided. - - - Updated - - - I've noticed that you can't handle them. You seem preoccupied with your "demon rum" and fantasizing about dispatching evil doers.
We don't care if you're armed or not. Since shootings are as rare as jello attacks in your opinion, then there's no reason for you to care what we do either. I mean if the threat of a gun attack is so low that you chose not to defend yourself, then there is apparently no gun problem. There aren't thousands of people dying in gun accidents. Should I link the stats from the National Safety Council again that you keep trying to avoid? Suicides are a different argument. Maybe you can help the top 10 nations of the world with their suicide problem? Oh wait no those countries down have civilian gun ownership and aren't committing suicide with guns.
Are you asserting that there is a zero probability of anyone needing to defend herself from an attack?
Well by all means post a reasonable response than the usual left wing personal comments. Your argument just fell flat
Did you actually post any facts? It would be your first time to actually have any real data. Usually you just babble and blame liberals for your personal inadequacies. But if you actually did post any facts to prove that guns for self defense do more good than harm please post your statistics again so we can all become enlightened.
Anti-gunners have many false slogans. At the core in my opinion is total apathy towards others. 12 Times Mass Shootings Were Stopped by Good Guys With Guns Read more: http://controversialtimes.com/issue...stopped-by-good-guys-with-guns/#ixzz3uG4bDRNX This is the statistical FACT. 100% of the victims of mass shootings were unarmed. To be safe from a mass shooting have ANY firearm. Satistically the odds of you being shoot or murdered is ZERO PERCENT. With rarely a shot fired, the mere presence of a firearm by the potential victim prevents 2 million felonies, 1 million home invasions and 200,000 rapes. The link to that Justice Department has often been posted. The question is can you link to any message you have posted showing any concern for victims?
I see trolling is still your style for addressing my comments. A fact that you liberals can't handle: The Assault Weapon Myth http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/14/sunday-review/the-assault-weapon-myth.html It turns out that big, scary military rifles dont kill the vast majority of the 11,000 Americans murdered with guns each year. Little handguns do. In 2012, only 322 people were murdered with any kind of rifle, F.B.I. data shows.
Great post, but I'm afraid it's falling on deaf ears. You see, Obama-bots are indoctrinated to not listen to facts, any facts, no matter how blatant they are. Is it no wonder murdering despots like hitler, stalin, pol pot and many others rule these lemmings - - - Updated - - - Not at all, I support our right to own guns, and protecting ourselves from liberals is becoming more the norm Would you like to address the myth I posted or are you more interested in trolling?
How many of the victims in all the mass shootings had a CCW permit and were carrying at the time of their murder? If none, then that's your answer and also the problem. More people should apply for CCW permits and carry often to protect themselves and others.
How am I trolling? I asked you a question based upon the fact that handguns are the tool of choice among those who kill other people in the Untied States. Wouldn't you like to make it harder to obtain said handguns in an effort to curb the number of gun related deaths in the US? I mean unless you only care about yourself and your ability to own a gun.
The vast majority of hand gun deaths were obtained illegally. How is a new law going to stop that????
If you are suicidal or lack the memory to keep a firearm locked as your indicated personal concern, then yes you should not have a firearm at your home. But if either of those are accurate then professional help should be seriously considered. If suicide is a concern of yours, you should immediately seek professional help as not having a firearm does not prevent suicide.
Adding an amendment calling for a higher level of enforcement against the illegal weapons trade. In any comprehensive legislation our government undertakes we usually allot for such things. Your question is a silly one that assumes our laws aren't comprehensive in what they cover. Guns aren't like drugs by the way, the usually all start by being produced legally somewhere. it's pretty hard to make one at home in your kitchen and it's impossible to grow one in your backyard.
Using a $1,500 benchtop milling machine, a block of aluminum, and plans downloaded from the internet, any component tinkerer can machine an AR15 lower receiver... Using a press, and homemade jigs, any component tinkerer can construct an AK47 lower receiver... Just google or search YouTube for "how to build AR15 or AK47 from scratch" and you'll find tons of tutorials.
I said it's pretty hard but not impossible. If people are so dedicated to obtain a gun of any kind that they're willing to pay over 2,000 dollars to do so then they're more of an enthusiast who has no ill will towards other and it would be non sense if you're suggesting that they would sell these weapons. However there should be a process in which they have to register their weapon upon completion and receive a permit before their weapons conception even begins. Again an amendment on the fake bill would cover that. Also if someone spends over 2000 dollars to produce one gun and then they try and sell it illegally they would have to mark it up to around 10000 dollars in order to accountant for not only the materials but the time and energy it takes to make another gun.
Because it is a fact that removing guns does not remove gun violence, just look at Mexico. Only bad guys end up with guns, and the second amendment of our constitution recognizes that fact and the reason why it was written. Your last sentence is your subtle troll remark. When you make it personal, you are trolling
That's your perception of me pointing to your selfishness as trolling. Is the United States and Mexico the same? Mexico is the wild west, they lack a strong government that's capable of handling issues across their entire country. They're the most corrupted government in north america. You can't equate the US to Mexico in any capacity other than the fact that they're both countries...
You're reaching so far it's ridiculous. You're looking for anything that'll disprove something that you know would work and the best you can come up with is ISIS and drug cartels, wow.
