There are over 1 million Arabs in Israel. The third largest party in the Knesset is an Arab party. Egypt is also blockading them, but I don't see you condemning Egypt.
All good hearted people will stand by Israel's military response against the terrors of Hamas. - - - Updated - - - Egypt is a nation of good Muslims, with Sisi in power. They hate terror too.
Israel has been at war with the Palestinians since the day the Palestinians declared it on Israel which was 15 May 1948 and well prior to there ever being any occupation or settlements.
I've just re-read the link I posted above - 8.3 children per woman? FFS! Thank gawd it's gorn down a bit. - - - Updated - - - And to think it might have been Muslim Brotherhood!
lol You mean while Hamas was in its rights to kill Israelis when ever it pleased - Israel was in no position to declare war on Hamas - why ?
Saudi propaganda screwed up your mind, The Jews bought their land from the Ottomans legally and they offered sanctuary to the European Jews, nothing was asked or given from the local Arabs.
The Warsaw Jews also fought a hopeless war and finished with a place none of them had ever seen or been to. What makes Jews unique when it comes to wanting their own state, and why are Israelis so terrified that, one day, Palestine will become a bona fide state?
This has NOTHING to do with Saudi Arabia.. The subject never came up in all the years I lived there. The European Jews had purchased 6 % of the land by 1948... The rest of it they simply took.. If you recall the looted and leveled over 300 Arab villages between 1947 and 1949.
All people have a natural/inalienable right of self-defense against acts of aggression against them. The blockade of Gaza by Israel is an act of aggression classified as an act of war and the people of Gaza have every right to defend themselves from this act of aggressiom so long as they comply with the "laws and customs of war" established by international treaties and agreements. Actions that violate the "laws and customs of war" are war crimes where the International Court of Criminal Justice has juridiction. We can also note that the hostile occupation of the Palestinian territory of the West Bank and E Jeruselum is also an act of aggression and the Palestinians have every right to violently oppose this hostile occupation. Once agian the "Laws and Customs of War" apply to their actions in defending their homeland that Israel has no claim to. I disapprove of the violations of the Laws and Customs of war by both the Palestinians and the Israelis in this ongoing conflict while I fully support the right of self-defense by the Palestinians against the hostile occupation of the Palestinian territory and illegal immigration (under International Law) of Israelis into parts of the Palestinian territory. If the Palestinians organize militias that are identifiable and carry their arms openly, in compliance with the Laws and Customs of War, then they have every right to violently opposed the occupying Israeli military and civilians. The Palestinians have never, and will never have, a "right" to commit acts of terrorism against the civilian population within the internationally recognized territorial boundries of Israel. That is both a war crime and a crime against humanity under international law.
I have no idea where people get this idea from that Jews owned the land the UN, going against it's own charter and not without blackmail/bribery suggested be partitioned. But the land take has not stopped and shows no sign of so doing. The extreme rightists are now even demanding they be compensated for the land given back to the Palestinians after Oslo while also declaring they will be taking the West Bank. This has passed it's preliminary reading in the Knesset http://www.jpost.com/Arab-Israeli-C...such-thing-as-Palestinians-cancel-Oslo-438849
UNGA Resolution 181 was nothing but a proposal for the people of Palestine subject to their approval. The Palestinians were represented by the Arab League and represented 2/3rds of the population of Palestine and they rejected UNGA 181. The Jews, represented by the Jewish Council represented only 1/3rd of the people. Based upon representative government UNGA 181 was rejected by a 2:1 margin. The partition violated the Right of Self-determination of the People of Palestine. Today Israel is responsible for the failure of a peaceful settlement to the conflict. The Palestinians are willing to accept and implement all of the provisions of UN Security Council Resolution 242 but Israel refuses to comply with that resolution by removing it's military and civilian occupation of the Palestinian territory (i.e. West Bank and E Jerusalem) so that the Palestinians will be able to respect the territorial integrity and right to live in peace for the Israeli people.
"Termination of all claims or states of belligerency and respect for and acknowledgement of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of every State in the area and their right to live in peace within secure and recognized boundaries free from threats or acts of force;" When was the comprehensive peace treaty signed by the Palestinians?
Yes indeed. And it is a prime Israel's objective to make sure, never again Jews fight a hopeless war.
But that would mean no common hate-figure in the region, and the Arab countries would start fighting one another (they always seem to have the urge to fight someone) unto annihilation. Hey, that's not a bad idea; after all look at the global problems we're facing, such as populace displacements, from the Arab states. I mean, that must be Israel's fault?? ( )
Not for me. The Palestinians are the ones I feel sorry for as they are trapped in hatred that seems inescapable. They need to rescind their declaration of war against Israel, strike the violent destruction of same from their official position and make peace even if they have to surrender unconditionally. Israel is going to come out on top in every way until they make peace in some way.
I think both sides are guilty of wrongdoings and need to grow the hell up and learn to accept each other, because Israel isn't going anywhere and neither are the Palestinians. This nonsense about destroying each other isn't going to help anything.
We have Israel on one side, Hamas on the other, and the poor bloody Gazans in the middle. As he's some kind of authority in ME affairs I'd have thought Tony Blair would have something to say about that.
Yes their whole lives go like this and there is no future, no scope of ceasefire or truce and all simple folks are misled, indoctrinated and it seems nationalism is a disease.
He would indeed. You can read in this article how his Government changed first Britain's and then the EU's response to both Hamas and the Palestinian/Israeli peace process in general. http://www.lrb.co.uk/v33/n05/alastair-crooke/permanent-temporariness
