Can anyone explain the vast superiority of Texas? HUH?

    We hear how Texas is too good for the rest of us. Their economy, and lifestyle, are presented as it doesn't get any better.

    They think they could get a far better deal NOT dealing with us losers. Their big hair, and bottle blondes and fake brush cutters are like another planet.

    Their bravado is almost humorous.

    But, the thing we admire is, they are able to do things right. Their military installations, and their ready migrant muscle, make Texas a signpost of states doing well.

    They don't need to cut corners other states do. Texas holds itself out as the quintessential UNFAILED STATE.

    Then how to explain it's rocket sled ride to third world status?

    It is pretty humorous that ever since Bush II was president Texas has become another hated American state by the left. I am sure that the left does not understand pride since they feel they are responsible for all of the hills in the world that they blame on everybody else.

    Texas has an interesting history, from its days as part of Mexico, the war for independence, the Republic, the years of begging to become part of the U.S., the concessions in land to do so, the loss of even more to keep it's slaves, it's unique Western/Southern population, the independent energy grid, sucessionist idiocy.....etc...

    It is generally seen as the red headed stepchild by other states....rightfully so.

    Add to the list those huge cowboy hats the size of a table umbrella. Makes it tough getting into their pickup trucks wearing those things. :)

    No income tax. Friendly people. Fewer regulations. Hard working conservative Christians (German and Latino). Oil. Austin is the new tech hub. Texas is truly the land of the free.

    The Left has hated Texas for a lot longer than that. (And the feeling is mutual.)

    Don't let anyone fool you into thinking the Left is somehow nice or compassionate. They are vicious.

    They live to hate others. When there is no one else around, they hate each other with a ferocity that has to be seen to be believed. "Political Correctness" started off as an intra-Left accusation.

    Who wouldn't blame Texas, after giving us their MBA of the right, who almost single-handedly overturned a Capital maxim that states: it only take money to make more money.

    As for maternal mortality rate;Somebody should probably check the water.

    In my experience,Texans are unduly proud.Some of those Texas women look pretty good to me, though. :laughing:

    I believe California should end our useless War on Drugs and advance fusion (an energy with a future) to help balance our national "energy portfolio".
