Here is yet another reason why the electoral vote is a disaster. The majority of Americans and their votes are not important. Its all about districting. Redrawing political boundaries. Moving numbers and voting demographics from one side to the other
In the meantime the popular vote doesn't matter.
Its time to end the electoral college

The reason she squeaked ahead in the popular vote but lost the election is because of all those illegals voting in California. Only thing is no matter what the margin of victory all she gets is the state's 55 electoral votes. That's why they call it a college because it's smart, smart, smart.

By less than 200,000 votes. Guess they just didn't stuff the early voting ballot boxes enough.

The only reason dead people are allowed to vote in Florida is every time they try pass voter ID the Democrats say it's racist.

For starters, she only has the chance to win the popular vote because of California and New York. I know quite a lot of people that don't bother voting because the state they're in will go red or blue. Take away the electoral vote and all these people that don't worry about voting will get out and vote.

How about we just make all the states represent the same amount of electoral votes? Oh, still lose.

Regardless, Trump was never supposed to win FL, NC, MI, WI, or PA. This was a clear path to a Clinton landslide (which I'll be sure to use on you people for the next four years since "Romney landslide chuckle chuckle" was thrown in mine for the last four) but the silent majority showed up, as we've all predicted and the polls that were skewed, as we all predicted, was too much for Clinton to win. It's already set up for a democratic victory and Clinton had around 278 electoral votes by default that we had to fight for. Democrats lost, it's time to get over it and move along. We have a country to make great again.

This is the 2nd time in my lifetime the electoral vote overruled the popular vote. How can that be good for democracy? Last time stuck us with Bush II, Trump can only be worse.

    Dark days ahead.

The majority vote counts, especially in all the battleground states. The ones that usually go blue.

If the majority vote counts, Gore would have been POTUS and Hillary would be POTUS

its a stupid issue because in states where the margin is too great for it to make a difference, provisional ballots and often absentee ballots aren't even counted.

Hillary advocates want us to have a pure democracy where mob rule trumps constitutional rights. where the "several states" mean nothing and federalism is dead

if net taxpayers were the only ones allowed to vote, the dems would almost never win national offices

Because the millions of democrats that voted in CA and NY were wasted votes. Both candidates have a path to victory via battleground states. A path that was manicured and pampered for Hillary, but she failed to win them. Nearly 17 million votes were cast in NY and CA, both heavily democratic states that Clinton won with 59% in each. If those were battleground states then maybe a popular vote decision would be appropriate. Until then, expect a Republican to win the electoral and a democrat to win the popular.

No its not a stupid issue.

Its democracy and the candidate who gets the most votes win, not by redistricting and political maneuvering.
The electoral college is a political tool, it is not democracy

You just verified that the electoral college is a disgrace and needs to be eliminated.

Get over it, she lost. And not only did she lose, she lost while trying to rig the election through fraud and lawlessness.

So when breaking the rules doesn't work the left's strategy is to complain about the rules?

Since I didn't vote for her there is no reason for me to get over anything

The fact is, the majority of Americans voted for her and it doesn't matter.
Democracy does not apply in this country

Nay, bright days ahead. Trump could not be more different from Bush Jr.

Normally I would agree, but America really dodged a bullet this time.

So eliminate it. The process to amend the constitution is simple enough.

Wanting to remove the electoral college because Hillary Clinton lost is sour grapes.

The electoral college is there to prevent the majority from voting for crazy people.

Without the Electoral College, states like Montana would have no voice.

The urban centers alone would dictate national politics, and the rural communities would incessantly be subject to the will of people thousands of miles away.

People in very rural areas would be slave to those people in population centers.

The electoral college best represents whats best for people from all walks of life and in all geographic areas.
