Without a doubt Trump is going to make America great again. According to the news Carrier is going to announce that they are keeping at least 1000 jobs in the US. Trump has been working with them to make this happen!!!!

Apparently it never occurred to the fool Obama to even try to make this happen. That people is why he will not be missed at all.

Naturally a negotiating wealthy successful businessman is going to accomplish much while a low-level community organizer and "present" voting senator doesn't have a clue.

Obama liked a shrinking US economy, he's a globalist and wanted America cut down to size in order to level the playing field. Just not fair that we are so rich and powerful in his eyes.

Trump said he would impose a 35% tariff on any company who exports jobs to foreign lands. Evidently, part of the deal that kept this company in Indiana (Pence's state) is the fact that several billion dollars at taxpayer expense will be from the Pentagon. So much for laissez-faire capitalism and rugged individualism as the corporate welfare state continues to flourish.

Wow. 1000 jobs. And only half are leaving the country. That is impressive. I can see why you voted for him.

The private sector gained 15 million jobs in the last 7 years under Obama.

Trump promised 24 million new jobs.

Wake me up when he does what he promised.

If Obama like a shrinking US economy he did a terrible job.

When Obama took office the economy was tanking at a -9% real rate, losing 700,000+ jobs a month, unemployment was 7.8% skyrocketing upward, and the stock markets and housing markets were crashing in the worst recession in 80 years. The deficit was running at $1.2 trillion, soon projected to hit $1.9 trillion, the housing market was destroyed, and the economy was headed straight for a depression.

But now the the private sector has added more jobs every month for a record 77 months in a row, stock markets are up about 200% from their recession lows to record highs, corporate profits have hit all time highs, we've gained back all the jobs lost in the recession and millions more, the housing market is recovered, the deficit has been cut by more two thirds, the unemployment rate has fallen from 10% to 4.9%, and 15 million additional private sector jobs have been added since Jan 2010.

What a terrible job he did.

Naturally. I mean, look at the last wealthy successful business man you all put in office and his great accomplishments.

Took a surplus and squandered it and ran up $5 trillion in debt, wasted trillions of dollars and thousands of lives in a "mistaken" war, and left office with the economy in shambles in the worst recession in 80 years.

Right wingers live under a continuing and unending illusion. They believe Republicans create jobs when it is they who cause Depressions and Recessions while it is the Democrats who create the jobs by reversing the mess they've inherited.

Democrats have created 58 million jobs while Republicans can only claim 26 million.

Looks like carrier is staying. Apple talking about making I phones here in the states. Not even president yet and he is creating more jobscure then Obama did in 8 years. This is what happens when you elected a business man instead of a community organizing anti American fool. Great job voters of Trump, you are just as responsible for making America Great Again. Wow this is exiting.

    - - - Updated - - -

Did the main street media tell you that ? Look what president elect Trump is doing. Are you exited?

Actually Carrier announced that 700 out of perhaps 2000 will remain for now. In another thread I mentioned that I'm glad these workers will keep their jobs for now but next year, when the spotlight isn't on Carrier, the work will probably be done in Mexico and the jobs will be gone anyway.

Also of significance is that this doesn't address any of our real problems. It's not going to do anything to reduce the loss of real income by American workers. It's not going to result in higher wages in the service sector that provides employment for about 70% of Americans, that generally doesn't pay enough for people to live on, and requires massive amounts of federal welfare assistance. It won't change the GDP and it won't actually help the US economy at all. There's not even any indication that Donald Trump had any influence at all in Carrier's decision and arguably if he did then the executives at Carrier that made the decision should be fired because the business decision must be made based upon what's best for the business.

He managed to have eight years of anemic growth with most new jobs being part time and low wage and record numbers on food stamps so I'd say he succeeded in bringing us down as much as possible and leveling the playing field. Add to this the constant sucking sound of good jobs leaving America and obama has been a resounding success at leveling the playing field.

It's not just Obama this never occurred to. It's been quite obvious through a number of Presidencies as our MFG base fled the country that a sensible person would sit down and LISTEN to the concerns of the folks leaving. But one again, only Trump manages to do the most basically simple and sensible thing.

Arrogance, hubris and blaming other people for their problems is easier than being a leader of a country. If Trump continues in this positive direction, it will be the start of a brand of leadership and today's crybabies will be less of a factor moving forward.

Sure thing. I'd be dead before you woke me up.

Wow, is that the RW propaganda is saying?

When Obama took office the economy was tanking at a -9% real rate, losing 700,000+ jobs a month, unemployment was 7.8% skyrocketing upward, and the stock markets and housing markets were crashing in the worst recession in 80 years. But now the the private sector has added more jobs every month for a record 77 months in a row, stock markets have almost tripled from their recession lows to record highs, corporate profits have hit all time highs, we've gained back all the jobs lost in the recession and millions more, the housing market is recovered, the deficit has been cut by more two thirds, the unemployment rate has fallen from 10% to 4.9%, and 15 million additional private sector jobs have been added since Jan 2010.

Trump claims to have saved about 1000 jobs, with some unknown as of yet bribe.

It would only seem like Donald did more in two weeks than Obama did in 8 years only to folks who get their worldview from false RW propaganda.

They are leaving because they can make the same product overseas for less cost with cheap labor.

If we don't let American businesses do that, Chinese or Indian or Indonesian businesses will and they will get the profits.

While the US is still 2d in the world in manufacturing, we are and have been, a service oriented economy. The percentage of workers in manufacturing have been dropping for decades.

What we need to figure out is how to get service workers the same middle class wages and incomes that manufacturing workers got.

    - - - Updated - - -

So why on Earth then did you vote for the Pathological liar elect?

    - - - Updated - - -

    Totally false, RW propaganda.

It's amazing how many are so misinformed and ignorant because they rely on false RW propaganda for their information.

Blaaaaaaming Obama for the Great Recession and Republican austerity again, are we?

    It's like a broken record.

A: I didn't. My registration didn't come in time. If it DID come in time, I was leaning towards Gary Johnson. My secret leanings of course was to the Nationalist Populism of a Donald Trump, but I didn't trust him with the presidency. I trusted that THING called Hillary Clinton even less. To quote Ms. Le Pen(my favorite politician overseas right now) "Anything Hillary touches would be a disaster."

And we avoided that disaster. Even if Trump flops, I can almost be 90% sure he wouldn't be as awful as Hillary Clinton.

And B: Service Jobs(Waiters, truck drivers, etc) will NEVER get as highly paid as industrial professionals. Not only in this market, but any other market. We must create a highly educated populace for the 21st and 22nd centuries so that America can compete with the rest of the world. If we do that, they'll be more than worth fair wages.

Manufacturing workers in the 50s, 60s and 70s and beyond weren't getting good middle class wages because they were highly educated or for the special skill it takes to screw bolts into cars.

Though I certainly agree with having a highly educated populace. Clinton proposed making higher education free like secondary education, and providing retraining assistance.

    What is Donald's plan?

Oh yeah. Virtually eliminate the DOE and eliminate the assistance it gives millions of kids to get a higher education.

That should really move the ball forward.

    - - - Updated - - -

You couldn't even talk to Donald unless you are a m/billionaire.

    Otherwise he'd simply screw you.

    What an illusion!

Last time Congress and the White House were controlled by the Republicans we had Depressions/Recssions/major wars. Let's hope we don't see this again. But if we do, don't say I didn't tell you so.

The only thing Obama did was increase the number of people on food stamps from 28 million to 47 million. Wow what an accomplishment for the country.
