Yes, fire him immediately and charge him with assault. Unless, of course, you can come up with a good reason for a grown man body-slamming a small defenceless child. There is no excuse for his violence. None.

Because there was no reason to video that girl as she was not involved in the fight - there is a video of the actual fight

A 15 year old girl is not a "small child." The girl involved was a young, post-pubescent woman with breasts and adult facial features, not a "small child." But then, I bet you didn't watch the video. I do agree the policeman needs some kind of consequence (retraining in breaking up fights), but it looked like he was pulling her out of the fight, and pulled harder than he should have and lost control.

This girl was no where near the two girls fighting. What has age got to do her size? Were her breasts a lethal weapon?

 

It definitely looks like the officer should be severely reprimanded and removed from school duty seeing the video but I have grown to not trust recordings that only show the takedown, there is usually more to the story. If she wasn't resisting, assaulting the officer or presenting a danger then I hope he receives the harshest penalties for his behavior.

I was about to say I am glad the topic wasn't "white" police officer slams "black" girl - would be wonderful if the media would either include it in either all stories or none - but it looks as if the officer was Hispanic.

 

In court. Defend against his assault indictment on that basis. Any dispute regarding the likelihood of him being taken into custody and charged?

Not only does the video not show what happened before, but the talking head commenting on it remarks that the video doesn't show what happened before.

Yet here you, outrage engines at full blast, demanding "action".

I think we all know what happened here.

A cop doesn't just pick somebody up off their feet.

This is more than likely yet another case of a disorderly militant young punk thinking they were above the law and then quickly being showed otherwise.
