'I’ll be honest: so many states are adopting constitutional carry at such a fast rate, with so many state-specific variations, that I simply can’t keep up with them all. North Dakota, for example, just managed to pass a version of “constitutional carry” before I even realized a bill had been introduced.'

Just remember, it's only for state residents.Everyone else needs a permit from a reciprocity state.

Mizzouri made it to were you can carry and don't need a permit...On Jan. 1...I still need a pair of pants that will stay up with a gun in the waistband..

Ohio has such a bill under consideration.
Open carry w/o a permit is already legal; no one can supply an argument as to why concealed carry should not be as well.

I got one of the aliengear belts. This thing could probably hold up a full size desert eagle no problem.

    Yeah I never understood that.

You don't need a permit to have a gun that everyone can see, but you need one for a gun they can't see.

I'm pretty sure that in both cases, I still have a gun. Or two.

With very little exception, the only reason the permitting process for legally carrying a concealed firearm exists is because of the revenue that is generated during the application process.

I notice there is a total dearth of reports of their history of legal open carry resulting a massive bloodbath. Or, reports of criminals walking the streets with guns visibly strapped to their waste or ARs and AK's slung across their backs as is often portrayed by anti-gun rights groups would have us believe would be the result of permitless open carry.

The train keeps on rolling LOL, gotta frustrate the Banners. Amazingly, there is still no blood running in the streets and no wild west shoot outs...However reported incidents of actual self defense stories coupled with increased gun sales seem to be the new norm. Wonder what that means :roflol:

A shoulder holster would be more convenient if you don't take your coat off.

    Good to hear.
However, I've not been to North Dakota since a high school band trip, and it's unlikely I'll go there as a tourist.

In Missouri a concealed weapon requires no permit, so I doubt they'd mind..I wonder if I can start carrying a Bowie knife?

Not concealed. Concealed knife carry is limited to an ordinary pocket knife with a 4" or shorter blade. Open carry should be fine, but transportation could be a concern as carrying in your car could make it a concealed carry.

lol..I remember the early days of confusion over Brady law....being told I have to wait 5 days before I could take a 38 home that I had paid for 'but I have a carry permit: still 5 days'..'I have a 45 under my jacket: still 5 days'...turned out they were wrong of course

Knife laws are even more ridiculous than gun laws, if you can believe it.

4" folder in your pocket no problem. 4" non-folder = omg put you in jail.

During that period I would only buy from private individuals...Hell now we go to gun shows and walk out with all we need in large supply...He's a pic of my 33 year old son, he's a trucker and loves to play, just like I do..

Sometimes I go to walmart to look for 22lr. When they have it, the guy takes it out and insists on carrying it himself to the register. Twice he has had to walk me to the front of the store.

Meanwhile, I'm walking behind him rolling my eyes because I'm already carrying a loaded 9mm. Idiots.

Laws pertaining to the possession of weapons are not intended to make sense.

It is my understanding, as long as it is not concealed, you can.

In some states, a CCW, covers a firearm , but not knives.

    http://www.defensivecarry.com/forum...iscussions/1977-what-does-your-ccw-cover.html

If you think there is a patchwork of laws regarding guns, check out the silliness with knives. Go from one community to another with a knife your knife may go from legal to illegal. There are so many variations of state and local laws, it is impossible to keep track...part of the purpose as is vague laws, giving LE a descretionary tool to arrest someone for any reason if they have a knife.
I have taught classes, both for knife SD and to LE on dangers of encountering knives on the job for a couple of decades. I have also, demonstrated to many martial art experts how difficult it is to defend against a determined person that is experienced/knowedgable with knives... not like Hollywood.
Back in the 50's switchblades were the scary black weapons of their time and made illegal in many states and under the Fed commerce law based on their portrayal in movies of use by street punks and ganges. The scary knife was usually shown to be an Italian design pick lock or one of the scary OTF knives, both at times misnamed stilettos. Most of the imports, and even those that are well made were unsuitable for any real offensive or defensive use. I have never seen an auto I would carry in place of a good fixed blade knife or well built folder. As for opening speed of a scary knife, you can't convince me any switch blade can be opened any faster than good knives with a stud or thumb hole to make a tactical difference. Yet, the myth persists... as it does for AKs and ARs.

"Concealed carry hasn't stopped mass shootings"

How many mass shootings happen where concealed carry is illegal?
