Such reports make it ' significantly more likely ' that climate-change deniers are self-serving simpletons with a financial interest in perpetuating the lie that human activity is not responsible.
Frankly, they should be investigated - and those proven to be ****ing up our world for their own personal profit should be arrested. The discussion should focus on the fitting punishment for their crimes.
Such people- and I use the term reluctantly- are as dangerous as extremist terrorists because they threaten us all. Your kids, your grandkids, could suffer terribly because of their activities. Identify them and criminalize them. Remove them from the equation before they kill off our world.

It's so blatantly obvious that Big Oil is behind the AGW denial. They're the ones who stand to gain or lose the most.

    From the OP's quote:
What drought? Look...CA has a long history of droughts going back hundreds and hundreds of years. I don't know if you are aware of it but CA just got drowned. It's cyclical and has nothing whatsoever to do with human habitation.

AGWers are "science deniers" arguing against the fact that the climate of the earth is constantly changing and evolving.

The same claims of climate change have been made for decades - but for most that time it was insisting what we were entering a terrible new ice age. "No, wait, not an ice age. We were wrong about that for 3 decades. To the opposite it is going to get hot! Believe us when we tell you that we have been lying to you for 30 years. Only simpletons don't believe admitted liars."

Simpletons believe everything they are told, even if the opposite what they were told by the same people the day before.

At the time that some climatologists were predicting a global cooling event, there were six times as many scientists who predicted a globall warming event.

Do you still believe that talking point is relevant or useful?

The "human fingerprint" is a phrase being used metaphorically to reference the fact that this study was able to find a direct and causal link between human behavior (polluting green house gases) and the disruptions to the global air stream patterns.

The fact that a location has a long history of something occurring naturally does not mean that the latest occurrence of that event must have been naturally caused as well.

The grass on my lawn has seen rain for 10,000 years. But yesterday, my grass became wet because I turned on the sprinkler.

In terms of California, Stanford did a study (and I'm on my phone or else I would link it) where they found that the most recent drought was linked to man made climate change. The fact that most of that historic level drought got wiped out by a historic rate of flooding is further proof of man made climate change. Extreme events are becoming more frequent and more intense.

WHAT!? You want to ignore hundreds maybe thousands of years of evidence? Is that really scientific?

It's funny to watch people on an internet forum completely dismiss science because it doesn't fit in with their worldview; acting as if they have as much knowledge as someone who has devoted their life to understanding the climate.

I wonder if they also stop taking medication and getting vaccinated because of "big pharma" or are they worried about chemtrails in air, fluoride in the water, or chemicals turning frogs gay.

    I am.

I was making the point that believing humans no impact on climate change is as stupid as believing the rest of that horse s--t.

so you dont think theres anything wrong with gynocomastia, where men grow breasts? Or permanent muscle spasms. Ya shouldnta brought up medication, about half of that crap causes more problems than it fixes. Pharma is running amuck, its not comparable to the rest of your topics.

That title is misleading. According to the IPCC, confidence in global warming is something above 95% IIRC, but confidence that it is largely caused by humans is more like 85%. I was hoping that this was related to the 85% - the definitive ringer that eliminates any obfuscation. The results of global warming are what they are. It's gonna be bad!

The last time I checked, the global oceanic conveyor was slowing significantly as well - another clear marker for warming.

I agree needs reforming but again would you stop taking your medication because of the faults in the system, unless the fault was with your specific medication.

Exaggerated nonsense. The law must address the CONTRIBUTORS to the destruction of our planet- not their dupes.

They should be running scared- but their dupes abound.

How do you read that from my post? I said that it doesn't guarantee the outcome is naturally occurring. I did not say that you ignore the past evidence.

I thought the analogy to my lawn and the sprinkler/rain would make that pretty blatantly obvious.

Here is the Stanford study that I referenced: http://news.stanford.edu/news/2014/september/drought-climate-change-092914.html
