Which actually proves banning guns (which they did not actually do) did work. It proves there is a level of violence within the society, that if guns WERE availiable like they are in the USA, would end with the same rate of gun homicide you have

And you would have had a better chance of survival with a lower adverse outcome than a gunshot wound - or are you going to tell me being stabbed with an ice pick has a worse outcome than being shot with a gun?

What difference does it make? We aren't nor are we Constitutionally able to adopt the draconian gun control laws of either of those two countries. How come you never compare the US to Russia?

I know this is an anathema to many gun owners but that is essentially what our legislation did - after all we have more guns in private hands now than we did before 1996 so legislation has not stopped us OWNING guns - but it has enforced personal responsibility

Please show that if an American isn't a black male, engaged in crime, associating with criminals or in a violent domestic relationship that an American's change of getting shot is "far, far higher than here in Australia or the UK". The current ration is only about 4 to 1, so I'm curious what far, far higher means in real numbers.
