"Loony left"? Do you really think the charge that white supremacist have infiltrated law enforcement is looney? I'll bet you voted for the emotionally damaged trump.
I know. It looked excessive, I just don't know if it was what it looked like. That's why I'm reserving my judgement.
Didn't read whole thread. IMO, the cop applied less force than he could have if his intent were to injure the woman as opposed to subdue her; he -could have- really slammed her harder than he did had he wanted to. Also, the low traction of her shoes on the polished floor increased the velocity more than the cop likely intended. I can't stand abusive cops, and admittedly this could go either way. Will be interesting to see what result if any. Also have to note that were this a man being tossed this way, I doubt anyone would be claiming excessive force, and we wouldn't even be hearing about it. Such takes place 1000s of times a day against men, but when it's a pretty young woman, white knight impulse kicks in. Anyone who denies this is a thing needs to get out more LOL.
Yes, I fully believe that charge is loony. Loonier than a Canadian dollar. And here you sit, sucking up all 10 or 12 videos over the past 5 years that surfaced of a white cop manhandling a black person who was clearly out of control and making the maniacal claim that white supremacists have infiltrated the police. Dumbest **** I've ever heard, besides the Russians helping Trump win the election we were constantly told by the left would never ever ever in a zillion years happen. Get a grip. You sound as emotionally damaged as you claim Trump to be.
Very nice rant! Everyone should read that and then read this: http://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/402521/doc-26-white-supremacist-infiltration.pdf And this reported this year about a 2015 FBI report: https://theintercept.com/2017/01/31...-supremacist-infiltration-of-law-enforcement/
Oh, that's right! You don't believe the police, the FBI, the NLRB, the CBO, or any standard authority. You only believe Fox, Newsmax, Breitbart, the Heritage Foundation, Cato, and other extremist liars. I forgot.
SOR data and the FBI come from the same source. If collective data from one source means it's true, than we have very low standards. I need more evidence before I can believe this nonsense conspiracy about white supremacists. Anyway, why is this even being discussed? What evidence is there that this officer is a white supremacist?
Yeah, I probably shouldn't have raised it at that point, but my thought was that the police are not what they were when I was a kid. They have gone militaristic and violently intolerant and I was characterizing that by expanding on it. Wanna call it my bad? Okfine.
To me, it looks like he tried to arm bar her over to get her arm behind her back, and her 10 pound body went flying from the shoulder. His feet were not in front of hers and a "cowboy" flip is more of a hip throw than anything. I didn't see that.
And this is why the public no longer trust the police and could gives two shits when one is shot and killed.
Yeah but I doubt most police have a lot of experience in detaining 50lb women. I'd imagine he reflexively used as much force as he normally applies on the typical take down, which clearly almost sent her into orbit.
Are you advocating the rule of the strong over the weak? The rule of law is what's separating us from Russia, or China, or anarchy in general. It is what the police swear to protect at the risk of their lives if needed.
I a not a "huge" advocate of law enforcement - however, they are a necessary element of civil society. Power corrupts and more power corrupts more. As police powers continue to increase expect more abuse. This is not to look down on Police nor should they be put on some pedestal. As anyone who has worked for any time in the service industry (in a quazi subservient position such as a server) will tell you people in general are self centered, egotistical, arrogant petty, and highly corrupt, controlling, xenophobic, downright nasty, jaded and power goes to their head. Police are people. The idea that it is "one bad apple" is nonsense. The reverse is true - there are a some good apples and the rest are people. As such power easily goes to their heads. Few and far between is a cop who does not have control issues. In some ways I understand why so many police are jaded. If I had to deal with scum all day long ... my outlook on people would probably become jaded too ( I mean really .. look at my outlook just from dealing with the average Joe in the service industry for many years). Imagine if you selected the bottom of the barrel from that lot. It is not pretty. As we move towards a quazi totalitarian police state where police powers are further increased along with a concomitant decrease in individual rights and freedoms (and more laws and regulations) the frequency of entanglements between police and citizens will increase.
Right - let's just start executing people who resist the heavy hand of the State in any way because - "thats the way the world works". I agree that that is the way the world works in some places - Stalin's Russia, Mao's China, Pol Pot's Cambodia, and so on. I was under the impression that the US was a more civil society ....
