Obama had eight years to end wars, I personally think its a bit early to be judging Trump on anything and it really comes off as childish to go after the man when he hasn't even spent a year in office. I have more faith in Trump keeping his word about what he'll do than the last clown in the White House. Remember that guy promised to close Gitmo in his first year, he also promised immigration reform his first year. Well, looks like Trump is doing more on his immigration promises already than Obama ever did, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt in trying to clean up two administrations' worth of foreign adventurism...

Obama EXPANDED the drone program, let alone reduce it. So funny how the left ignores that.

I have and still oppose the use of drones outside of established battle theaters, currently only Iraq and Afghanistan would qualify. It is an act of war to attack targets in sovereign nations, such as Yemen or Syria, and that will one day come back to bite us.

    You're too soft mate..;)
George W. Bush said to "sanctuary nations" after 9/11- "Give us the terrorists or we'll come and get 'em", and that still rightly holds true today.
Our enemies can run but they can't hide..:)

That war was for independence from a foreign government. Surely you understand the difference between fighting for independence, and invading a foreign country that poses no threat to the US, or do you?

Trump denigrated the Generals of the military, accused the American troops in Iraq of stealing millions, denigrated McCain for getting captured, basically said that soldiers who committed suicide were weak, and the list goes on. However, I do not find cowardice in that, just plain ignorance. I find cowardice in his refusal to enlist when required to do so, and the phony excuse of "bone spurs? which were never proven, as so many of lies are not, and that suddenly disappeared without any medical attention.

As to your comment "And what kind of bravery and honor does it take to accuse someone of something that isn't true?". ask Trump.

Hopefully you were being sarcastic though.

Bush at least opened the argument with a request for local action by the sovereigns themselves, if or when that failed only then would the US act. What we have been seeing is uninvited acts of war perpetrated on sovereign nations, and that is not only illegal, it will not be forgotten. You need only look at Libya and Obama's stupidity there to see where such things can lead...

None of that has a thing to do with what Montel Williams said in response to Trumps statement about current circumstances in Iraq. And because you and Williams twisted Trumps words beyond recognition in this topic, I suspect that your many points above are likewise editorialized and twisted. Nice dodge anyway.
PS; I checked the points you mentioned. And as I suspected, they are pure BS. Have you no shame?

So, Trump never criticized John McCain for getting captured? He never suggested that American troops stole money from Iraq? And he never said he knew more about ISIS then the generals?

You must have used Faux News to do your checking. Oh wait, they tell the same story. Sorry, your lack of integrity, and intelligence, is shining through.

Since the terrorists died in the attack, I know of none that survived, just what countries are you speaking of?

1- If any nation contains terror-training camps and installations, surely we have the right to hit those specific locations in self defence, just as we zap cancers with radiation therapy?
2- if you mean Obama leaving murdered Ambassador Stevens and his staff out to dry, yes it was a disgrace, Obama and Hillary apparently wouldn't send in a Marine bodyguard detachment in case it upset the muslims, sheesh!

The 9/11 terrorists were just the tip of the iceberg, there are still plenty more crawling all over the world like fleas on a hound dawg's back, but like I said they can run but not hide..:)

Military service is not a requirement to become president. If it were, we'd have generals as president. Washington and Eisenhower were fine presidents, but I don't think
Not all of the 9/11 terrorists died in the attack.
The man who says he was the mastermind of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack seeks to justify the plot as a "natural reaction" to U.S. foreign policy in a blistering letter sent to then President Barack Obama from the Guantanamo prison.
Khalid Shaikh Mohammad, one of five Guantanamo prisoners facing trial by military commission for their alleged roles in the hijacking plot, also writes in the letter released Wednesday that it does not matter to him if he receives a life sentence or the death penalty from the tribunal.

A journalist questioned Trump's position on an issue, invoking McCain's pow status to justify McCain's disagreement with Trumps position. Trump said getting captured isn't heroic or evidentiary of the wisdom of McCain's beliefs. That's not attacking McCain. It's defending himself.

And yes, an in depth report came out a year before the Presidential campaign, showing thefts by many in our military of millions of dollars meant to rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan. Many in our military went to prison because of it. But this wasn't Trumps reason for bringing it up. He was criticizing Obama for such a haphazard system.

And lastly, saying he knew more than the Generals wasn't a criticism of the Generals. It was tongue in cheek bravado due to the exhaustive reports he was receiving and the constant mockery of him coming from the left.

But you do seem to know a lot. Unfortunately, it's mostly wrong.

I believe the actual terrorists were killed on the aircraft as they flew into the Twin Towers. The rest of your point is pure speculation since none of those captured have ever been tried, a violation of our Constitution which does apply to them since they are in our custody, and under our juresdiction.

Now, since the terrorists came from mainly Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, why did we not invade those countries? At the time al Queda was not even in Iraq, and bin Laden was hiding in Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

Battalions can deploy in 24 hours. I served in one that prided it self on being able to be anywhere in the world in that time frame.

I also served in another unit that deployed in under 60 days and was combat ready on the ground in 65 days.

Not sure what units you served in, but the time frame you are giving is for a war already going on and planning unit rotations.

If I was in Iraq and I heard the President say what he said I would put a smile on my face and get all pumped up about going out and killing me some Isis. It is like a football team and the coach gets his new guys all hyped up. "Best team I've ever had" boasts the coach and yet we know they aren't but we want the guys to believe in themselves. Sounds to me like some African American (really a misnomer) has gotten his panties on a little too tight and it's busting his balls. Sensitivity, sensitivity, sensitivity. It's about time some boys need to grow up and become men.

I seriously doubt you have ever served, or fought in combat. Bush made a similar speech, and then the coward sent men off to die without adequate equipment, unarmored Humvees, rotted out body armor, etc. Yep, get them all hyped up, and then use them like the Japs used the Kamakazi pilots.

Actually I was at the Bay of Pigs and the Cuban missile Crisis and served on an ammunition ship which spent 9 - 11 months a year off Viet Nam for 4 years. Why is it the Democrats cut defense spending to the bare bones and then get us in these wars and the Pubs come in and have to continue the fight while they rebuild our military?

Nixon ended the Vietnam War, Reagan started and ended the invasion of Grenada and Barack Obama ended the war in Iraq. (Just kidding about the last one.)

The Dimms have no interest in Repub victories or cleaning up afterwards. The last administration was so castrated they gave away any self respect we had left. Now, we have a business man who has to try and restore our country from falling off the cliff.

If you battalion deployed in 24 hours, then IAO was about 5 months prior.

CR deployments are common these days, I'll give you that. Especially if you were in the 75th, 82nd, or 101 (USABNq)

One of the main missions of the 82nd division is to do exactly that. A battalion in the division is almost always ready to deploy and be wheels up in under 12 hours if needed. The whole division can be on the ground in under a week if required.

The US military has rapid deployment forces and the global response force. The rapid forces can be notified and anywhere in the world in about 24 hours. The global response force which includes the rapid response forces are set up and trained to deploy quickly to respond to unforeseen events in the world.

The Marines also have a large number of their forces also ready to deploy rapidly. This is the result of having Marines onboard US navy ships. That is why those Marines are considered part of the US military's rapid deployment force. The Marine Corps after receiving the order to deploy can have Marines on the ground most anywhere in the world in about 24 hours. That is one of the reasons the Marine Corps exist and part of their mission. I say almost anywhere because their ability to do that is limited by the availability of a coast. Not entirely but they are not equipped like the Army and will have greater difficulty getting vehicles deployed using the aircraft available to them and the Navy. Since they would need to rely almost entirely on helicopters if not conducting a shore landing.

For armored and heavy mechanized infantry it takes awhile to deploy simply the result of the additional amount of support needed and the vehicles being larger and heavier. Not sure when you served, but the Army has been focused on deploying more rapidly around the time the first Gulf War started. Some were not too happy how long between when the light infantry is on the ground to when the heavier combat units were and ready to conduct operations.

That is why the Army now has brigades with the Stryker in several divisions. Before it was just airborne divisions and special forces. They wanted something to fill the gap between the light forces being on the ground and the when the Bradleys and Abrams were.

Stryker battalion can be deployed almost as quickly as an airborne unit as emergency deployment readiness exercises have demonstrated. I will grant that they will likely only be able to conduct limited operations at first until more support and supplies arrive. Since they would need things a light unit will need far less of like fuel and mechanics.

With enough forewarning the military will take more time to plan deployments, but it does not need 5 months of planning before it can have troops on the ground conducting operations. Unless you count the constant planning that is already being done. Like daily assessments of events around the world, where the military might need to deploy, what units would best able to fulfil the possible needs and the best way to get them there.
