Meanwhile you "right wing fascists" seem to think that Trump doing the same thing is not acting like a dictator. Not that logic or consistency means anything to partisan diehards whose irony meters are non-functional.
It's the substance that matters. In Barack Obama's first 100 days, he got Congress to enact thRA, the Stimulus Bill. Right wingers still criticize it, although not with much in the way of facts or accuracy. But the stimulus halted the downward spiral of the US economy. He was already hard at work on the auto bailout, and negotiations over financial services reform (the Dodd FrankBill) were well underway. The world was on the verge of sliding into a Depression, the likes of which had not been seen since 1929. The collapse was bad enough, but we weren't building Bushvilles out of cardboard in public parks. But we can awfully close. Contrast that with the posturing, bluster and chaos of the Trump Adminstration, and imagine where the world would be if he had been President.
More excuses for Pres. Pen and Phone. Trump's executive orders are mainly just UNDOING OBAMA's outrages....
Trump would not buy his own BS........he supporters lap it up like good cult members. The beginning of a Banana Republic.
Just can't bring yourself to admit that your guy is outdoing Obama in the "dictator" category. Took obama some 6 years to whip out the pen in any substantive way, it took disaster donnie about 30 seconds. Ironic that you excuse donnie for his behavior by excoriating Obama for doing it. Its as if your bad is better than their bad. Clownish Churlish partisanism without a shred of logic or actual substance. Those bumperstickers sure are hard to get off the forehead, eh?
Amazing that the fall back position is to Obama.....a dog whistle that works really well for some people.
Keep telling yourself this and wait to see it happen. You are already blaming the democrats, the media and the judiciary and begging the Congress to mess with the court system.
You mean he had to leave after two terms, the way Trump will have to leave? No one's becoming a dictator. America's separation of powers is too strong.
He's been watching Erdogan's suppression of the media in Turkey and the mass arrest of anyone he doesn't like or whom he considers an opponent, and thinking, 'hmm, I like that guy, maybe I should try that here. That way I'll know everyone adores me.'
So A Congress filled with Democrats AND Republicans doing the same thing is now SO Patriotic right? In a self-confirming bias, you have led Trump to this step by opposing him at every turn. Don't be upset now that he wants to rip up the whole thing.
As Mark Twain once wrote, in a slower-paced time, "I didn't have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead.” It is my ambition to say in ten sentences what other men say in whole books — what other men do not say in whole books. ~Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche The most valuable of all talents is that of never using two words when one will do. ~Thomas Jefferson Cheers
Or it's a bigger master plan of the world's Mafia boss, Putin. You can bet Russia had their hands on the social media, propaganda campaign in Turkey.
Something I always hoped that someone would point out to Spicer regarding the comparison of Obamacare and the GOP healthcare plan is that the GOP healthcare plan, on that table, was only the first phase of the GOP healthcare reform plan. The first of three phases. So wouldn't it be more accurate to compare Obamacare to the legislation contained in all three phases of the GOP plan?
Yes fair enough, and I would hope acts two and three embrace brevity as well. I'll ask, are we the governed better served by concise legislation or the tomes written by lobbying think tanks? Cheers
The later. Easily. And especially when dealing with an industry as large and complex as the Healthcare Industry. And especially in a society which requires that laws be written and recorded before they can be enforced.
That's pretty sad. Over a million words on 14 laws? That's way too much. Even Bill Clinton did better. More laws, less words. The fewer words the better. You might like verbose laws that require teams of lawyers to understand fully, but to me that's stupid. Everyone should be able to understand our laws; after all, ignorance of the law is not an excuse. Also, I keep hearing Trump hasn't done a thing. This shows he's done twice as much as Obama in the same time frame.... Meh, Trumps still a waste, but so was the other candidate.
