Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg supports an idea called universal basic income.

Mark Zuckerberg doesn't always have the best ideas, but the idea of a universal basic income is worth exploring. The idea is that the government would give everyone a payment that is enough to cover basic needs - as a replacement for welfare and entitlement programs.

Obviously there are many entrenched interests who would be opposed for various reasons, but the benefits of such a reform are plain. It would reduce administrative bloat (billions of dollars spent on welfare doesn't go to those in need, but goes to administrative costs) drastically, and it would also remove disincentives to productivity. This disincentive is called "The Welfare Trap" - it occurs when someone increasing their income would result in a loss of benefits, the value of which exceeds the income gained.

Removing the welfare trap would be good not just for the economy, but for the poor who have been held back by The Welfare Trap.

 

Zuckerberg is a beta male who desperately wanted to be popular and now that he has billions he still desperately wants to be popular. Beta to the end.

I'm intrigued by the possibilities, but i'd like to see some studies done first. I know there are some places in Ontario they are going to try this out in, and it was attempted once in Manitoba years ago but stopped before the full results of the study could be completed (initial findings were positive though).

Will this universal income be enough to provide cable, internet, food, beer, transportation, anxiety drugs? If so you've just guaranteed a **** ton of people won't bother ever learning to do anything when they can sit like sloths and get by. Now extrapolate that on how much they will cost in healthcare as well due to apathy?

Will there be enough workers to cover the costs of the leeches because there will be a lot. Certainly more than now.

THe ONLY way I would support this is their inability to vote. NO WAY people like that should be able to influence elections since the outcome is painfully obvious. And you have to be a citizen. No more anchor baby law. No more overstaying visas. You can't allow loopholes for illegals to leech off the system as well.

Also anyone on this program who gets pregnant or gets someone else pregnant is instantly neutered. They can NOT be allowed to reproduce since you can do that math on what bored lazy people can do with their time if they don't have to care what sex eventually leads to and the burden that entails.

If you're arrested for murder it's instant DP. Non negotiable. No Jail. Immediate death.

With such a program it has to be made very clear that doing anything wrong will have extreme consequences. It can't work any other way. It would be a good way to cull the country of some lousy DNA=) The stupid people would either get themselves killed or sterilized, which would improve future generations, hehe.
