I guess the term "sequester" means nothing to you? You know. The agreement Congress and Obama reached to cut the annual spending deficit?

OMG! The government granting favors to its cronies? Good thing the federal government has told us that it can pretty much do anything. That way it can mess around with the medical industry and have the ability to extract bribes.

Exactly. Totally corrupt in that it uses its monopoly on violence to grant favors to its cronies. A unique government "benefit": corruption and economic dislocation. All of which is cheered on by the regressive statists.

I don't know the actual percentage and neither do you.
Here is one site on an entire city of 9000 going subscription: /www.firerescue1.com/fire-department-management/articles/1374521-Residents-in-uproar-over-fee-based-fire-service/

66.5% of fire departments in the US are volunteer only, a full two-thirds. Almost 50% of those serve communities under 2500. 13% of those have zero pumpers available.

My guess is that you didn't even know subscription based fire coverage even existed let alone the make up of fire depts in the US.

No, the HMO doesn't give you a choice of *their* doctors.
*YOU*, the individual, still have the choice of whether you want to go outside the HMO doctors.

Yes. Single payer would stop all these problems

You said they voted against their own self interest. That can only mean that *YOU* think you can decide what is in their best interest. The same kind of urban elitist represented by Hillary. There *is* a reason why she lost!

Trump was elected by DEMOCRATS in places like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Were *they* voting against their own best interests as *YOU* define their best interest?

I didn't say that providers would stop recording what it is that they did. That would be ludicrous.

This is the science aspect of health care. The blow by blow of what people did to/with you are the facts. Logic related to standard of care, what's covered, etc., comes after that.

?? Per-visit payments are a common method of limiting visits - ensuring appropriate rationing. That's a major component of why they are there. Other methods include requiring referrals, requiring symptoms, etc. Our system now and the systems of other countries all need methods of ensuring that they aren't overrun by those without real issues - those looking for drugs, for a warm bed, for a meal or whatever.

It's not necessary that we change every little piece of the puzzle.

It would make the problem *WORSE*. That's a second reason for wait times in single payer systems. A lack of specialists, including surgeons. Thus long wait times for them to fit you in!

Nah. It would make things much better. These countries only have slightly longer waits times than we do. And if they follow your model and choose any doctor they want they can still pay on their own and get in right away. Best of both worlds

Mob rule ends badly - ALWAYS. The Founding Fathers knew that. That's why they set us up as a Republic based on Federalism. Thus the Electoral College and a Senate with equal representation by State.

You are not required by law to use the doctor the HMO specifies.

Why can neither you or Vegas accept that simple truth?

You are not required by law to use the government doctor under single payer either

Single payer would make it so you don't have any choice in doctor? And you think that is a good thing?
