Trees can be endangered species too... More than half of Amazon tree species seen at risk of extinction 20 Nov.`15 | WASHINGTON (Reuters) - South America's vast Amazon region harbors one of the world's most diverse collection of tree species, but more than half may be at risk for extinction due to ongoing deforestation to clear land for farming, ranching and other purposes, scientists say.
We humans are privileged to be witness to the 7th great extinction event...even better we get to take part in it. Once the bees go however, we wont feel so fortunate anymore.
what if it helps us better understand our ecosystems and ecology? or, are you merely claiming, there is not enough profit in it.
Why invoke, "profit". I own two ranch properties, voluntarily part of the "Nature Conservancy". BSc Biological Science, Magna Cum Laude. Studied "Ecology" in an advanced, High School, Biology class before Ecology was a political word. 1965. What are your credentials, please. Understand? Pay enough money to the researchers and YOU can understand it as you like as would make Garak of ST DS9 proud. Garak and doctor sharing lunch. Doctor thinks he can bust Garak as a uber Cardassian spy. Garak tells a story and at the end the doctor asks, what is the truth. Garak replies all the pieces of the puzzle are there before you to assemble your own truth. Look at all the phoney EIR studies conducted by reputable, degreed, paid for academics! Sub Section: Look at all the phoney drug studies by reputable degreed medical people at good institutions. Moi better understands Ecology. What do YOU require? Yes, clearing rain forests bad. Very bad. Okay. No studies or more understanding needed. It has been done. You need only assemble the pieces into your truth/understanding. Imagine: Europe so forested that if you came upon a Cathedral in 1100AD, it was like a sanctuary, clearing from the old forest. 400 years ago , a squirrel at the Atlantic area forests could make it to the Mississippi by tree top hopping. Imagine how clear cutting all those old forests from Europe to North America from 1100AD to ? 1820 ? Oh well. Just to put things into perspective. Hope you don't feel too, "Brain Bombed". Hint Psst - Save Ecosystems, not Species!
No....not when we humans are the ones endangering species and then driving them into extinction. That is not at all part of the system of 'natural selection' that we call 'evolution'.
I Refuse To Feel So Insignificant Not To Take Responsibility for All PeopleKind Save EcoSystems, Not Species! Stop Supporting Counter Evolutionism.
Of course it is. We are part of nature. - - - Updated - - - Really? Please show evidence that all species of bees are endangered.
In the oceans, it's the survival of the smaller... Survival of the Smallest? Bigger Sea Species More Threatened September 14, 2016 - In the Earth's oceans these days, the bigger a species is, the more prone it is to die off. That's unheard of in the long history of mass extinctions, a new study finds. Granny once whupped a grizzle bear dat tried to get into her 'special' brownies... Yellowstone Grizzly Bears to Lose Endangered Species Protection June 22, 2017 — Grizzly bears in and around Yellowstone National Park will be stripped of Endangered Species Act safeguards this summer, U.S. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke announced on Thursday in a move conservation groups vowed to challenge in court.
Extinction is part of evolution isn't it? Species get more viable when more tuned to their environment. This happens (we are told) through the evolutionary system of life and death and the passing on of genetics. When we 'save' a declining species we may be precluding natural selection.
Seems reasonable to start hunting the grizzlies again then, especially outside of Yellowstone. Not hunting them, and letting them wreak havoc on livestock and humans will only lead to poaching anyway.
